No Justice as Victims Left to Die in Kankakee, Illinois?

After 4 years, there is no justice for a 93-year old victim raped in a nursing facility by 22- year old certified nursing assistant, Jason Thomas Curl. , The attack occurred in 2005.

In 2005, a Kankakee Grand Jury handed down an indictment against Curl on 3 counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault- a Class X felony.

It is now 2008. And the elderly rape victim is now 97 years of age. The question of why this case has not gone to trial are a mystery, unless one knows the facts surrounding the relationship between Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jamie Boyd and the accused rapist’s defense attorney Jeff Tomczak.

A little interesting background on Tomczak, he was the former State's Attorney for Will County. The same place where Kathleen Savio's death was initially ruled a suicide. The same place where according to documents and letters sent to the Will County State's Attorney office at the time, under his care, was slammed in the face of a woman, married to a law enforcement officer, seeking assitance. Savio's plea's for help fell on deaf ears. Had the correspondence authored by Kathleen Savio and the filing for orders of protection along with photo's of the beatings she suffered at the hands of her abuser been admitted into court at the inquest, in my opinion, other lives might have been saved. First and foremost, Stacy Peterson.

The case is not scheduled until after the election on November 4. [Kankakee County Court Records, Case No. 05-CF-435]

In the meantime, a no, 26-year old Curl, accused sexual predator has been out of jail on bond, free and awaiting a trial that may never come. If Curl’s accuser dies prior to her being able to testify, or her lucidity is called into question again by the defense due to her age, it is likely that charges will dropped.A former prosecutorial and political powerhouse, Jeff Tomczak knows how to play ball. And so it seems does a man who holds an office that I consider, important. A State's Attorney is a gatekeeper. And when a gatekeeper allows a sexual predator to walk the streets, we are all in danger.

Lets call into State's Attorney Jamie Boyd's Office and ask: Why he is delaying a very important case? Afterall, playing golf with a close buddy, is one thing. Playing with the life of a helpless elderly rape victim is another matter!

Please send you emails and call in your outrage for this case to:
Kankakee State's Attorney Office: 815-937-2930
fax: 815-937-3932
Mr. Boyd's Email: jjboydlaw@yahoo.com

What Every Parent Must Do Before Taking Kids Out On Halloween!

The chaos, candy and costumes that are all a part of the Halloween joy and hysteria are here once again. As a mother of three and a young-at-heart baby boomer, few people have cherished the rituals of this unusual and downright bizarre holiday more than me. However, it's not all fun and candy.

The Franks Foundation is urging every parent in America to check their local sex offender registry before taking theirchildren trick-or-treating. It goes without saying that children should never be allowed to go out alone by themselves on any night, particularly this one.

Checking their local sex offender registry before the annual night of trick-or-treating is one more quick but important step that parents can take to ensure theirchildren's safety. The Franks Foundation recommends the nationwide sex offender registry at http://www.familywatchdog.us./; It will take less than five minutes of your time and is absolutely free.

While you're at it, you can sign up for free email notifications
whenever a convicted sexual predator moves into your community.

Aren't your kids worth it? The Franks Foundation thinks so!

Criminal Profiler Pat Brown Says What We All Are Thinking!

This is an excerpt of the excellent post from Author and Criminal Profiler Pat Brown. To read the rest of the story go to womenandcrimeink.blogspot.com

Until the horrific news of the murders on the South Side of Chicago hit the airwaves, Jennifer Hudson's life was many a girl's dream. Ms. Hudson, American Idol contestant and Dreamgirls star, had made it; well, more than made it. She had risen from the streets of Chicago and made the type of choices that eventually brought her fame and fortune.

However, Ms. Hudson couldn't choose which family to be born into, and even though she loves her mother and siblings, she can't force them to make smart choices for themselves. Sadly, each one of her family members appears to have played with fire and ended up getting burnt by it. Mom Darnell Donerson and brother Jason Hudson ended up being shot in their home. Sister Julia lost her son Julian King (pictured right), found dead the back of his uncle's stolen and abandoned SUV; someone had no problem pumping a number of bullets into a seven-year-old boy. All totalled, this horrific crime left in its wake three homicide victims and two grieving sisters. In my opinion, however, the only truly innocent victims were the little boy himself and Jennifer Hudson. The rest aided and abetted the alleged killer. Go to Women and Crime to Read More.

In recent years, Dirmann switched gears from crime news to entertainment reporting, working as a staff reporter for Us Weekly before becoming Deputy Bureau Chief for Star Magazine. She has also served as a frequent on-air spokesperson for both magazines, appearing on shows such as MSNBC, Extra, Good Day LA, CNN, A Current Affair, Inside Edition, Fox News, and a variety of E! network programming. Her latest crime novel "Vanished At Sea", is garnering a lot of attention with the recent arrest of a former power rangers television series star.

For over 12 years Tad DiBiase was an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Columbia and prosecuted homicide cases for most of those years. In January of 2006, he sucessfully prosecuted the second "no body" murder case tried in D.C. and have been interested in "no body" cases ever since. On his site he tracks "no body" murder cases, trials and investigations. Drew Peterson and Legal Roaster: Lip Service to Murder?

No image will be more sweeter when Charges are formally filed against "suspect" Drew Peterson in at least one of the cases of his former or present wives.

In todays Chicago Sun-Times reporter Joe Hosey {also author of the Peterson Book-Fatal Vows} says State's attorney expects 'resolution',Drew just shrugs...

Last week on Justice Interrupted crime investigation radio, reporter/author Hosey was asked under the pending "Heresay Legislation" will peterson be charged? Hosey's response "charges would be easier to make in the death of Kathleen Savio, because you have a body."

The legal marshmallow roaster gets a failing grade for implying State's Attorney Glascow is attempting to tie this to his bid for re-election next week.

The "hearsay law" has yet to be signed by the Governor of Illinois. Once it is signed expect the most "famous serial abuser" to be formally charged.

Yes, you will see Peterson's legal team open their bag of legal tricks. I suspect, this time, a year to the day of Stacy Peterson's vanishing, the person responsible will be arrested.

Although for the legal roaster this won't be as exciting as the time the S.W.A.T team visited his own home in the midst of a potentially life threatening crime, it does run a close second.

Once an abuser, always an abuser!

Murder Suspect Represents Himself: Murder of Nailah Franklin

Reginald Potts, arrested for the murder of Nailah Franklin, asked a Judge in Cook County to represent himself in his own defense. Potts stated he did not want a Public Defender representing him in the murder trial.

This is about an arrogant abusive individual who will stop at nothing. In this case he is going for a rather unique play in the courts. My guess is Reginald Potts has studied all his options and he is betting on a mistrial or wiggle room to file an appeal for another trial.

Nailah Franks also deserves justice. A victim of domestic violence, her body burned and left in the Calumet River, discarded because she stood up to an abuser.

I am confident the Cook County State's Attorney will hit a home run when he presents his case in February of 2009.

Update: Tekenya Wooten Found and Safe

Tekenya Wooten has been found Safe!

Maybe we can all learn some lessons from this case. Had we not all banded together and put pressure on and given this little girl exposure, would the results have been the same?Maybe we can save the world one little girl at a time!

http://www.newsobserver.com/news/cri...y/1267228.html
From Staff Reports Comment on this storyDURHAM - A pregnant 12-year-old girl who had been missing since Saturday was found this morning in Durham, police said.Durham police officers found Tekenya Wooten on Gordon Street at about 11:45 a.m. today, according to a news release. She appeared to be unharmed, according to the release.Wooten was living in a Durham group home that operates as a residential and maternity child care facility. Investigators were treating her disappearance as a runaway case and did not trigger the state's Amber Alert program in this week's search.

The Real Crime in Durham , N.C. of Tekenya Wooten

Police are trying ( information is not even up on the police site) to locate the pregnant 12-year-old girl who has been missing since Saturday, October 18, 2008.

Tekenya Wooten ran away from a group home in Durham North Carolina the address is 3529 Manford Drive. Apparently, this 12-year old child who also happens to be eights months pregnant does not meet the criteria for an Amber Alert, according to a news release issued this afternoon, the Durham Police Department "is very concerned about her welfare and we are actively looking for her. This is a crime and of itself. She is a ward of the State of North Carolina.

She is in double jeopardy. She appears to have no family. And she may have been a victim of crime and the baby is a result of a rape. If so, who is the father of the child? Was a DNA sample taken? Is the father of the child is custody? Or was Tekenya's pregnancy a result of a rape.

Why isn't the Durham children and family services involved in finding her? It is there responsibiliy. They basically, lost her in allowing the child to go to an unsecured facility.

Tekenya, is eight months pregnant, is described by Durham police as a 5-foot-1-inch black female who weighs about 100 pounds. She was last seen with her hair pulled back in a ponytail, and she was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and silver-colored shoes.

It would appear the police are making their own rules up as they go along. This child deserves our attention. Perhaps if she was white and pregnant, living at home more would be done to locate the child. She did not select her circumstances. And it's not our place to judge the situation.

Two people are missing, a child and an almost full term baby. Usually, one does not run away if something is wrong in the first place.

I am asking for everyone who reads this to please send an email outrage of action. Below in blue has been created so you can paste and send out to the media and other email and fax numbers.

Durham Police Department has classified Tekenya Wooten in her high risk condition as a “run a way”. Because of your refusal to place information on your police site about the child and her baby and issue the all points bulletin. You greatly reduce the chances Tekenya will be found, safe. Something went terribly wrong at the group home. Have you investigated the home? Spoken with other residents and staff? A group home is not a warehouse for troubled youth. It is suppose to be a safe place for chilldren who have no family and or have been in danger. A child, pregnant can not be very far. Is this a new way to "profile the less fortunate? Do you even know the circumstances of her pregnancy? This is a life. Treating a child like yesterday's garbage waiting for a truck to pick it up and haul it away is a crime. Please take the time and work to properly ensure media coverage by issuing an Amber Alert in this situation.

Emillie Hoyt: Justice Interrupted in Highland Beach Florida

Emillie Hoyt, a vibrant young woman, has vanished off the face of the earth and her family is desperately trying to find out what has happend to the now, 26 year- old family member.

Just prior to Emillie's vanishing act, she lived in Highland, Beach Florida. According to sources she was engaged to man with whom she lived with at 4229 Tranquility Drive in Highland Beach.

Due to control and abuse issue's with the man to whom was living with and talking of marriage Emillie decided to leave the relationship. And you have probably guessed by now, she was never heard or seen again after January of 2006.

Despite whatever issue's she may have had in her personal life, leaving without a trace was not an option in her world. It could be a convienient excuse for others to dismiss the truth. But facts in this case show Emillie may have met with foul play. And it is likely to have been at the hands of her live-in boyfriend who would rather this entire matter vanish as he would have others believe.

Just a few years earlier, another live in relationship of Emillie Hoyt's fiancee'/live-in died under rather mysterious circumstances. She was a registered nurse from Boca Raton Florida. They too, were heavily involved in a relationship with plans for the future.

The same boyfriend, two women, one deceased, another vanished. It reminds me of the Drew Peterson case. One wife Kathleen Savio, ruled a suicide, then changed to a homicide. The other Stacy Peterson, vanished, without a trace.

Someone knows something. Maybe you know exactly whom I am speaking of, or maybe you were a friend to Emillie. Perhaps you waited on her at a restaurant , or filled a prescription.

All I am asking is for anyone with any information, to please come forward. You do not have to leave your name when calling in a tip. Your call is not traced. There is a Detective with the Highland Beach Police Deparment (information below)waiting for any information on Emillie Hoyt.

Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson

We are at the one year anniversary of the vanishing act of Stacy Peterson.

In October 2007, twenty-three-year-old Stacy Peterson vanished from the Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook, leaving behind her husband and children. Retired Police Sergeant Drew Peterson, thirty years Stacy's senior, steadfastly asserted his innocence and maintained that his wife had simply fled their tumultuous marriage and run off with another man. Throngs of journalists and camera crews besieged Peterson's quiet suburban cul-de-sac, but the ex-cop seemed to relish in this newfound limelight.

As exhaustive searches for Stacy's body turned up nothing and suggestive clues led nowhere, questions were raised: about their unusual marriage, about Stacy's past vocal concerns for her safety, and about Drew Peterson's bizarre public behavior in the wake of Stacy's disappearance.

Then, in February 2008, came a startling development. After a second autopsy, the unusual death of Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio, was ruled a homicide. Three and a half years earlier, Savio had been found dead in the bathtub of their home, but in light of Stacy's curious disappearance, Kathleen's body was exhumed and the case was reopened. Two of Drew Peterson's four wives, it appeared, had met untimely fates tragic and unexpected but hardly coincidental.Drawing upon exclusive interviews with Stacy's friends and family and even Drew himself, Chicago-area reporter Joseph Hosey presents the most researched account of the Stacy Peterson case yet. Still, as the charges against Drew Peterson mount, one haunting question remains:

Where on earth is Stacy?

The Author JOSEPH HOSEY has been a reporter for the Chicago area's Herald News since 1999 and has been on the cusp of every major development in the Drew Peterson case. He is the only member of the media to cover Kathleen Savio's inquest, having broken the stories of her death and, later, the disappearance of Stacy Peterson. He will be a guest on Justice Interrupted.

Who Murdered Mary McGinnis?

Texas-Mary McGinnis Morris, a nurse, was murdered on October 15, 2000 and her body was found by a tow truck driver on October 16, 2000. Mary had been abducted, beaten and shot in the head. The scene of the crime was staged to look like a suicide, but evidence at the scene and the autopsy report showed that Mary had been gagged, restrained, and viciously beaten before being shot in the head. Mary had put up a fierce struggle for her life that left her clothes torn and bruise marks on her body. Blood was found on the passenger door, which was open and the keys were outside the car. Police do not suspect robbery in this crime.

Mary and her husband, Michael James Morris, were having marital problems and law enforcement cannot eliminate him as a suspect. Mary's life insurance policy was for $700,000 and he was the beneficiary. Another fact is that two hours after Mary's death, Mike Morris placed a call to Mary's cell phone that lasted for 4 minutes and the call did not go to Mary's voice mail. The call showed up on the cell phone bill as "completed". Mike Morris denies any involvement in his wife's death. Mary was also having difficulty with an ex-employee who also cannot be eliminated as a suspect.

I know someone out there has information or saw something that day. Please go to authorities and tell them what you know. Mary McGinnis deserves our help!

If you have any information about the unsolved homicide of Mary McGinnis, please call Crimestoppers (713)222-8477 or Sgt. Parker of the Harris County Sheriff's Department at (713)967-5810.

A $10,000 reward is being offered in the case. The Carole Sund/Carrington Memorial Reward Foundation, based in California, offered $5,000 on top of the original Crime Stoppers reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in Morris' murder.

Wisconsin Shooting Spree by Deputy: Lawsuit Filed

The parents of four young people killed by a sheriff's deputy and the lone survivor of his shooting spree last year claim in a lawsuit that the gunman's law-enforcement superiors were negligent in supervising him and giving him access to weapons in Wisconsin last October.

The lawsuit filed in Forest County Circuit Court also claims authorities knew Deputy Tyler Peterson, 20, had a history of violence, yet gave him too much decision-making responsibility.
Peterson was also a part-time Crandon policeman, and the lawsuit names Crandon Police Chief John Dennee, Forest County Sheriff Keith Van Cleve and their insurance companies as defendants.

Peterson killed his one-time girlfriend Jordanne Murray and five other people during a party at her home in Crandon on Oct. 7, 2007. Authorities have said Peterson was angered by the idea that Murray was dating someone else.

After breaking down the door, Peterson fired at least 30 shots from an AR-15 assault rifle he was issued as a member of the Forest County Sheriff's SWAT team. Peterson shot and killed himself hours later after police efforts to get him to surrender failed.
He killed Murray, 18; Bradley Schultz, 20; Lindsey Stahl, 14; Aaron Smith, 20; Lianna Thomas, 18; and Katrina McCorkle, 18. Charlie Neitzel, 21, was shot three times but survived by playing dead.

The parents of Schultz, Stahl, Thomas and McCorkle joined Neitzel in the lawsuit.

According to the lawsuit, Dennee and Van Cleve had been warned that Peterson was a "violent person and a danger," and they knew that Peterson had abused Murray.

None of the complaints against Peterson were investigated, the lawsuit said, adding that the sheriff and police chief failed to protect the public from the dangers posed by Peterson.
Van Cleve and the city attorney for Crandon did not immediately return telephone messages Monday. The sheriff's dispatcher who answered a call for the Crandon Police Department said Dennee was not in his office Monday afternoon.

The city of Crandon and Forest County earlier denied the families' claims seeking more than $5 million in damages. Those decisions opened the door for the civil lawsuit.

http://www.policeone.com/police-recruiting/articles/1638889-Wisconsin-victims-families-press-for-screening-changes/

The two insurance companies named as defendants in the lawsuit are the League of Wisconsin Municipality Mutual Insurance and Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation.

Stalked By Cop..Where Does A Victim Turn?

For five years now, my now ex-husband and now retired law enforcement officer has stalked and terrorized me.

It is bad enough to be abused by a batterer without power and influence, but when an officer is involved, with a broad sphere of influence, the battles for survival become even more fierce.

Even worse yet, is when the officer decides to stalk unrelentingly and the system takes no action. Most police officers who are batterers use aspects of their position to gain undue advantage.

In the cases of Officer-Involved Domestic Violence (OIDV) it is apparent that whatever the officer's training, expertise, fascination and specialized equipment is, is what is used against his victim. With OIDV being estimated as high as 40% among law enforcement families, there is a huge number of women in our nation who need help because they have no safe place to even report the violence. The issues surrounding escaping, divorcing, and struggling to survive are unique, unlike other domestic violence. The police officer knows where the shelters are, he can easily have other officers follow his wife or girlfriend, and he knows the "boys in blue" will cover for him. Often the victim is blamed, evidence planted, coercion transpires, death threats are made, the victim is told to recant and the fear factor flies off the charts.

I know, because I have lived it. I believe my cop-stalker has used all his training, his power and influence and his city-issued police equipment to perpetrate crimes against me and to get away with all but murder!

To hear more, this courageous woman, Susan Rhoades will be on Justice Interrupted Crime Radio, October, 14, 2008

Failing Our Kids

Whether a victim lives in Nebraska, Idaho, California, New York society and Courts Are Failing Battered Women in all parts of the country.

It begins with the simple fact that abuse victims, are not treated as victims of crime.

Society as a hole looks upon domestic violence as a personal issue, rather than a criminal matter. And, sadly, the children are weaved into the war.

Second Hand Abuse is just as equally devasting to a child raised in an abusive home. Tragically, it is silent epidemic in our society.

Survivor’s Guilt- feelings of guilt while mom or other siblings are being beaten.

Emotional shut down from seeing a parent beaten, shoved, chased, or verbally abused.

Constant sadness at what is happening in their home. The child must cope alone with the violence.

Overwhelming feeling of responsibility. Usually the child feels they did something to cause the abuse.

Nervous system overload/burnout. Repeated stress and trauma results in an unhealthy separation from the child’s feelings.

Despair and depression. The child feels as though the conflicts are never going to end and the situation will never change.

Having to go to school, concentrate, taking tests after a horrible night of fighting or while working about a parents safety.

Angry outbursts by the child or stepping in to stop the abuse. Child takes on “caregiver” role.

Numbing the sadness, pain and loss with food, drugs, alcohol when their home is not a safe, secure, predictable place.

Difficulty sleeping/wanting to sleep through the fights. Wanting to escape from the house.

Absolute powerlessness to stop the attacker or save loved ones.

Being repeatedly thrown to a state of panic/confusion (i.e. not knowing what to do…they want a way to stop this… somebody’s going to die).

Unbearable feeling of isolation, no one to tell, no one will believe, no one will help.

Coward Tin Badge Deputy and the Murder of Debbie Rediess

In Iowa Deputy Randall Creek was arrested for the execution style slaying of his former girlfriend Debbie Rediess in Kentucy.

Sunday morning, the the woman's driveway, there stood the Cowardly Deputy as he filled her body with bullets and then left the scene.

His words are disturbing on so many levels. In the majority of Abuse cases police officer related or not, the offender must always point to a reason for their cowardly actions.

Sadly, the execution style murder of Debbie Rediess because she was dating someone new. Debbie Rediess Moved out and away from the controlling abusive Deputy.

He was angry they were not together any longer, plain and simple.

Deputy Creek sent an e-mail about the murder to WBKO and dozens of other people, including
Some parts of the e-mail have been edited.

"I want to say how sorry I am for what happened but what's done is done. Let's talk about how we got to this point in my life. I dated Debbie Rediess for 5 years and I loved her very much. She constantly wanted to change me throughout our dating period but I never satisfied her completely.

I treated her like a queen compared to her ex-husband ---- --------. We went on nice vacations, concerts, ballgames, sports bars, etc. all the time. She broke up with me on our 5 year anniversary but she still had lunch dates with me the past couple of months and continued to hug, kiss and hold hands.

When I assasinated her in her driveway her new boyfriend aka "Billy Ray Cyrus" saw me and he was scared off his --- and ran into the house like a smart human being. I am not running to get away but I am going to make the KSP earn their money on this one. I have called and now e-mailed everyone to give them leads so when we finally meet up I will cuff up like a man or as Deputy Tim Phillips of the Simpson County Jail calls it 'being 21 about it'.

FYI - I have never been armed after the encounter and there will be no chase or struggle I assure you.

Finally, I love Andre' my 19 year old handsome son more than anything in this world and I hope you great things with your life. Love to Andre', my mother, my brother,------------, and all of my other friends and family. This is what the US Army has produced a Desert Storm killer and there will be more like me I assure you.

Cowardly Cutts Files For A New Trial

Jessie Davis murdered by Bobby [The Coward] Cutts
Pass the kleenex box, please.
Bobby Cutts who was sentenced to life in prison for killing his pregnant girfriend is asking for a new trial, arguing that the jury handed down verdicts that contradicted each another.
The news of the OJ Simpson Verdict probably knocked this off the media's radar.
Lawyers for Bobby Cutts Jr. filed the appeal this past Friday.
Let me refresh your memory if case you forgot . It was Cutts, that a jury found guilty in February [2008] of killing Jessie Davis and their unborn daughter at her northeast Ohio home.
Prosecutors argued that he killed Davis, 26, and the fetus last summer to avoid making child support payments.

Jurors convicted Cutts of aggravated murder in the death of the fetus. They found him not guilty of aggravated murder in Davis' death but convicted him of a lesser charge of murder.
According to ABC NEWS The filing argues that convicting Cutts of murder in Davis' death and aggravated murder in the fetus' death was inconsistent because both deaths were the result of the same act.
"The jury clearly lost its way and created such a manifest miscarriage of justice that the conviction must be reversed and a new trial ordered," the appeal said.
Cutts attorneys also argue that the Stark County judge presiding over the trial should have allowed jurors to consider an involuntary manslaughter conviction because no witnesses contradicted Cutts' claim that he did not purposely kill Davis.
Cutts testified that he accidentally hit Davis in the throat with his elbow during an argument, and that he dumped her body in a panic.
Violin Music please. The also says that Cutts did not receive a fair trial due to all the media coverage.
It was Jessie's mother who during sentencing while on the stand said "she wanted his life spared". In my opinion had she not made that plea for his life he would have received life or the death penalty.

No Exceptions

Across the County, Prosecutors and State's Attorney Offices have and are currently ignoring the Federal Violence Against Women Act.

Victims who seek services for assistance from the legal system in domestic violence, stalking, rape, court orders of protection are in Violation of a Federal Act that has been on the books since 1994, when Senator Biden worked with organizations across the country in this ground breaking legislation. If you click Here you will be able to read the full act.

{example of federal language in the law}
‘‘Subtitle J—Violence Against Women Act
Court Training and Improvements
‘‘SEC. 41001. SHORT TITLE.
‘‘This subtitle may be cited as the ‘Violence Against Women
Act Court Training and Improvements Act of 2005’.
‘‘SEC. 41002. PURPOSE.
‘‘The purpose of this subtitle is to enable the Attorney General,
though the Director of the Office on Violence Against Women,
to award grants to improve court responses to adult and youth
domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking
to be used for—
‘‘(1) improved internal civil and criminal court functions,
responses, practices, and procedures;
‘‘(2) education for court-based and court-related personnel
on issues relating to victims’ needs, including safety, security,
privacy, confidentiality, and economic independence, as well
as information about perpetrator behavior and best practices
for holding perpetrators accountable;

If you are a victim or the loved one of a victim, I urge you to read the law. Victims are being refused basic services by a court system that if overburdened. A victim of a rape, sexual abuse, domestic violence stalking, murder, removal of parental rights, must be armed with the knowledge of their rights when seeking assistance in these cases. It is unfortunate but a victim must demand their basic rights under the law.
As an example, Kathleen Savio, Drew Peterson's third wife, demanded justice. She wrote letters to the Will County State's Attorney's Office regarding her dangerous and life threatning situation. She contacted police. Her letters and pleas fell on deaf ears. After the death of Kathleen Savio, the family continued to demand answers. The door of the legal system was slammed in their face. It would take Stacy Peterson to vanish before relatives of Kathleen's such as [Kathleen's sister] who shared documents with Fox News and Greta that an outside medial exaimner was hired to determine the cause of death.

It was the Illinois State Police and the Savio's family, not the Will County State's Attorney who suspected her death was a homicide. And yet during this election year the office of the Will County State's Attorney is talking credit for something they themselves, ignored.

This is not an invitation to a cocktail party, these are people's lives.

Ruffled Feathers or Legal Bowel Movement?

James Glasgow Current States Attorney in Will County, Illinois.

Did I mentioned he is up for re-election?

There seems to be some movement in Will County, Illinois. Not the kind one would hope, but movement, none the less. More like a bad bowel movement in my opinion.

Earlier today, on CLTV in Chicago, the incumbent James Glasgow appeared in a news segment interview. During the interview he spoke of his commitment to domestic violence crimes. His feathers were ruffled because Judy DeVriendt, the Republican challenger placed two billboards in Will County. [pictured above]

Will County has had its' share of high profile unsolved cases from the Lane Bryant Murders, Lisa Stebic, Kathleen Savio, Nicole DeYoung to Stacy Peterson.

There was a quote in the Chicago Tribune today from the State's Attorney's Office Spokesman who said " The bottom line is that this is someone who is trying to use the tragedy of others to score political points."

The reality is that whether you live in Will County or Los Anglos County, domestic violence related crimes are low on the priority list of importance, across the country. For victims who are alive and trying to obtain assistance in the legal system, the system is unable and often unwilling to properly prosecute these types of crimes. They did not have the comprehensive training or time. States Attorney or Prosecutors in these offices do what they can but, they lack time and manpower.

Most of all they lack training necessary to assist the thousand's of victims who come through the system for help. Should that be a political hot button?

No, it should not. If there was a direct "war plan for dealing with domestic violence and stalking cases both at the felony and misdemeanor level, less women would "vanish" and more victims would be alive.

The system is broken. That is the issue.

Former Police Chief Arrested in 36- Year Old Cold case

Juror Thirteen site opened a 36-year-old cold case file on their message boards five weeks ago.

Posting an article written by Lindell Kay of JDNews.com (The Daily News) out of Jacksonville, North Carolina.

After only a few days of the stories coming out about this cold case, two people were arrested for Miller's murder... one was a former police chief.

Motorists found the body[pictured above] of Sergeant William Donald Miller lying in the middle of the road on Western Boulevard halfway between Marine Boulevard and County Club Road on September 16, 1972.

He had been shot, according to an incident report of the time.

Authorities found Miller's car on the shoulder of the road with the engine running, the lights on, a blinker clicking, and a half-cocked pistol on the seat, according to a Daily News archived report.
The Sheriff's Department, the SBI, the Marine Corps and NCIS investigated Hayden for more than a year before Miller's homicide case turned cold. Investigators at the time could not find enough substantial evidence to arrest Hayden, according to the JAG letter.

Thirty-six years later, George Hayden, 57, a police chief at Cape Carteret and Belhaven police departments, was been charged with murder in Miller's shooting death, on September 9, 2008.
Also charged in the case is Vickey Miller Hayden Cooper Babbitt, Miller's wife at the time of his death, in Oregon. Babbitt was arrested in Oregon in mid-September and didn't fight extradition back to North Carolina.

Miller, Hayden and Babbitt were all in the Marine Corps in 1972. Miller and Babbitt were married, and the three were friends. In August 1972, Miller returned to Jacksonville from training in Okinawa in to find Hayden had moved in with Babbitt.
Babbitt left Miller to live with Hayden. On Sept. 16 of that year, Miller went to meet Babbitt, but was gunned down in the middle of Western Boulevard. Investigators say Babbitt lured Miller to the spot, possibly by faking car trouble, and then Hayden shot Miller twice with an M-16 - once in the head and once in the back.
The break in the case came from a key witness who has been in fear of his life over the 36 years since the murder. His identity is still being kept silent because of that fear.
"The horror on the face of the witness was unlike anything I have seen in my 42 years of law enforcement," said Onslow County Sheriff Ed Brown.
Juror Thirteen will be keeping up with this cold case trial!

If you have a case that needs attention, no matter how many years have passed, there is hope.

Justice Interrupted: Michael Tapley Navajo County, Arizona

Michael Tapley has been missing since February 15, 2008. The last person to see him alive was his wife Gina Tapley who told police in a report that she dropped him off in a casino in another state.
According to documents, Gina Tapley who was also reported missing until she magically appeared on March 8, 2008 in Navajo County, AZ, provided the Sheriff with enough information to basically [Not] investigate the case. On Septemnber 9, 2008, orginally on this blog we posted informatrion on the case. Now a disturbing new fact has surfaced, the Najavo Sheriff is in the middle of an election and is unable to be bothered with this until after the election.

So my question is for the people in Navajo County., Arizona. Why would anyone elect a person to any office who is refusing to investigate a possible homicide? Yes, I said homicide. Information points in that direction and yet, it is evident that a powerful Najavo County Sheriff is too busy campaigning for votes. The case of Michael Tapley must investigated. You, the County should be considered. There just may be a potential murderer walking among you, do you feel safe?

The Tapley Family has a right to Justice. Please help by contacting the numbers below and asking why no one is doing their jobs.
