Main Stream Media Has A Problem?

Last week the Chicago Sun-Times ran ink, once again, on former Bolingbrook, IL, Sgt. Drew Peterson who is awaiting trial for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.  Michael Sneed writes a regular column for the paper and now it appears, in my opinion, that my less than favorite serial predator and offender of women, aside from being a dickless wonder, has his own special place in the columnist's heart under the heading of "Drew News."

Of course Michael Sneed doesn't name her so called "source" because that might be a conflict  interest to list a key figure in Peterson's representation over a few scotch and sodas just up the street from the Chicago Sun-Times headquarters.

In true Jerry Springer tabloid style, the reporter writes about Peterson's future as if it were important. It mentions how he is going to be acquitted, or so he believes, and that he's requesting his ashes to be turned into diamonds and, oh yes, he has prepared his last will and testament, which, by the way, is a hell of lot more than either Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson were able to do before they were allegedly killed.

Maybe Sneed can get her so called "source" to confidentially disclose where the remains of Stacy Peterson, Drew's fourth wife who vanished, are just so she has her facts straight. I am thinking maybe she had a memory lapse and forgot that Stacy Peterson  is still out there someplace and her children are, once again, spending Christmas without their mother.   I also suggest Sneed and the Chicago Sun-Times editors take a moment to read yesterday's post at Women and Crime Ink titled "Tell Everyone We Want to Bring Stacy Peterson Home For Christmas."

When mainstream media provides a forum to any individual who is awaiting a trial for the murder, or in this situation murder(s) of innocent lives, they are saying to the public, "This person is important for us to cover and we believe it is news".  I understand all person(s) are innocent until proven guilty by a court of law, but, in these cases of intimate partner homicide, especially when a woman is still missing, you have given her killer, in my opinion, more coverage than you have the case of Stacy Peterson and coverage on finding her.  You and the person currently residing in a prison cell, have basically said to the world, her children and family, hey F_ _ _ YOU!

A Special Place in Hell For Killer With A Badge?

A cop whom according to reports and former officers working along side of him "should have been stripped of his commission as a law enforcement" officer long ago. A departments rank and file that looked the way over an anrgry and controlling cop on Friday evening cost two people and possibly a third their lives.

Charlotte Grahn filed for divorce in August of 2009. She was afraid of her husband a Clackamas County, Oregon deputy sheriff. Charlotte believed if she pressed charges for the beatings he would get fired from his job. And that would only make Jeffrey Grahn more violent. But others knew like Sheriff Craig Roberts and on a private site for law enforcement someone in the know commented:

"Unfortunately the guy had been unstable for quite a while and the Boss chose to ignore it. This is not a surprise for those who had to work with Grahn.

When you're married, have kids, choose to get a girlfriend in the courthouse, that ends up getting you moved from the courthouse to graveyard patrol. When you suck as a Patrol Sgt. because none of the troops trust you, then you divorce your wife, but can't control her afterwards..... God speed Charlotte, you were an angel to put up with him.
Grahn...rot in hell!!"

Another law enforcement officer on site said:
"Suffice it to say that for those of us that had to work with this SOB, this was no surprise. Ask yourself why senior guy's who could hold day shift for the rest of their careers would bid off to nights when Grahn bid days?"

Charlotte was out for the evening with two of her girlfriends and a local establishment in town. Jeffrey Grahn walked in and the couple began to have a heated discussion. She went outside to get away from him. He shot her in the parking lot. Then this piece of grabage went back inside and shot the pther two women and the table. Kathleen Hoffmeister died instantly and Victoria Schulmerich is in critical condition fighting for her life. After shooting all three women Jeffrey Grahn committed suicide.

Now, three children are orphans because a small town refused to see that Jeffrey Grahn had no buisiness as a sworn law enforcement officer. They all knew that this guy was trouble. They all knew he was dangerous and yet his remained in a position of authority. Grahn could not deal with the fact that his wife was no longer under his private lock and key.

Because the police department and the union looked away they need to be held accountable. The Grahn children and the surviving families of the two victims shot likely have a lawsuit to file in the near future. The Attorney General John Kroger office needs to hire a special task force and make approppriate command changes within this depatrtment. A state-wide protocol should be considered and implemented for officers going through divorce. As in this tragic case the rank and file including the employee's within the department must be held accountable.

No one was willing to take action and come forward when Grahn started exhibiting strange behavior.

On Friday, February 12, 2oo9, the brotherhood of the badge kept it's code of silence and innocent lives were hijacked all in the name of shear ignorance.

Pathetic Man Gets New Trial Blame's Dead Son

I’ve have just learned the reason. The couple had a son together Terry Allen Garner who was just 16 years old at the time of his mother’s death. Grief stricken and distraught over what his father did to his own mother at the age of 20 years old he committed suicide.

In June 2003, Garner pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the Dec. 26, 2001, death of his wife, Kathy Garner. While James Garner entered a plea of guilty, he did not admit that he committed the crime.Kathy Garner had been found beaten to death, under her vehicle, at Molly’s Rock State Park. An autopsy revealed she had been stuck in the head at least 16 times.

Newberry Pathologist Dr. Joel Sexton said at the time it was one of the worst beatings he had ever seen.During the initial investigation in 2001, deputies allegedly received conflicting stories from James Garner. They then served a search warrant on her husband and reportedly found Kathy Garner’s blood in his car. Also found was a pry bar in the toolbox of his vehicle, allegedly with Kathy Garner’s blood and DNA on it. At the time, the pry bar was believed to be the murder weapon.Within days of going to trial, James Garner felt there was enough evidence to convict him of the murder, the defense related at the time. If a jury had found him guilty, Garner could have been sentenced to up to 30 years in prison, or the death penalty. But with the 2003 plea, James Garner was sentenced to serve 25 years in prison.

James Garner later filed post conviction relief action. Around the time his own son committed suicide. So now watch as I will bet this piece of garbage will attempt to pin the death of his wife on his dead son!
An autopsy revealed she had been stuck in the head at least 16 times. Newberry Pathologist Dr. Joel Sexton said at the time it was one of the worst beatings he had ever seen.

Since the post conviction relief was granted by a judge 28 days ago, James Garner has been transferred out of the state’s custody and is now being housed at the Newberry County Detention Center.
I should point that James Garner had motive. He was having an affair with a woman in another State with whom he later married after Kathy's murder. Kathy met him there as he asked to resolve marital issues as the couple were divorcing.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand victims rights in life or death remain behind closed doors when we allow men like this to get away with murder!

Cowardly Cutts Files For A New Trial

Jessie Davis murdered by Bobby [The Coward] Cutts
Pass the kleenex box, please.
Bobby Cutts who was sentenced to life in prison for killing his pregnant girfriend is asking for a new trial, arguing that the jury handed down verdicts that contradicted each another.
The news of the OJ Simpson Verdict probably knocked this off the media's radar.
Lawyers for Bobby Cutts Jr. filed the appeal this past Friday.
Let me refresh your memory if case you forgot . It was Cutts, that a jury found guilty in February [2008] of killing Jessie Davis and their unborn daughter at her northeast Ohio home.
Prosecutors argued that he killed Davis, 26, and the fetus last summer to avoid making child support payments.

Jurors convicted Cutts of aggravated murder in the death of the fetus. They found him not guilty of aggravated murder in Davis' death but convicted him of a lesser charge of murder.
According to ABC NEWS The filing argues that convicting Cutts of murder in Davis' death and aggravated murder in the fetus' death was inconsistent because both deaths were the result of the same act.
"The jury clearly lost its way and created such a manifest miscarriage of justice that the conviction must be reversed and a new trial ordered," the appeal said.
Cutts attorneys also argue that the Stark County judge presiding over the trial should have allowed jurors to consider an involuntary manslaughter conviction because no witnesses contradicted Cutts' claim that he did not purposely kill Davis.
Cutts testified that he accidentally hit Davis in the throat with his elbow during an argument, and that he dumped her body in a panic.
Violin Music please. The also says that Cutts did not receive a fair trial due to all the media coverage.
It was Jessie's mother who during sentencing while on the stand said "she wanted his life spared". In my opinion had she not made that plea for his life he would have received life or the death penalty.

Drew Peterson: Caution Lane Change Ahead

By the time you read this, one hundred and eighty- three days will have passed since Stacy Peterson, vanished.

It appears that Mr. Peterson, is offering a reward of sorts. Like a dog who eats their own vomit. He is "throwing up" this unusual amount of money. The same amount he "claims" she took when leaving in her red bikini back in October of 2007.

The Peterson camp announced a $25,000.00 (twenty five-thousand dollar) reward for the safe return of Stacy Peterson? Note the words "safe return", how clever. Drew Peterson knows all to well if wife number four turns up it will not be alive. Therefore, no reward would be paid out by Mr. Peterson or anyone else.

In my opinion, you would think that a man who goes on national television begging for the first ambulance driver, with a law license, who shows up at his doorstep, would have offered a reward the moment the mother of his children vanished.

The Peterson Camp's fifteen moments of fame, just changed lanes. Or in this case, camp fire locations.

Marshmallows anyone?

Mothers Day is right around the corner.
Friends, family and supports have created a web site on case updates and information regarding Stacy Peterson. And they could use everyone's support visit the web site at http://www.findstacypeterson.com/

Dan Abrams Interview With Drew Peterson Just More Sand From The Beach

The world watched again, as dribble rolled from Drew Peterson's lips. Dan Abrams missed the mark on this one. Abrams should have gone back to the interview with the social worker John Lamantia who had a fender bender with Stacy last year and asked Peterson how a complete , trained, licensed professional would make statement like "The relationship was physical and Stacy said they had a troubled marriage". http://video.nbc5.com/player/?id=184823 11/15/2007

What about asking questions regarding statements made by the neighbor on 11/10/2007http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,310405,00.htmlBOLINGBROOK, Ill. — A neighbor of an missing Illinois woman filed a police report against the woman's husband and recalled seeing the mother of two sitting at the end of her driveway in tears a week before she disappeared, she told FOX News. If Peterson so disliked the neighbor why have her baby sit the children during the critical time period when Stacy vanished?A week before Stacy vanished, she had Peterson's personal belongings packed up. Where was the question regarding those statements. This was also before Peterson went on the today show begging for a lawyer.
In the dateline interview on 12/21/2007 http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22316689/page/2/
Questions, again were not asked from the responses and statements made during this interview.
Why didn't Abrams talk about the dinner. Or the cell phone exchange with Pam Bosco? How about the fact that Stacy wanted to rent an apartment from Pam?
No mention as well of the lawyer Stacy saw just a few days before she vanished. The same lawyer that Kathleen Savio used in her divorce.

Why didn't someone ask the question when the legal roaster chimed in towards the end of the first part of the interview http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/24302957#24302957 and said " she wanted to divorce" . What did he mean by that? Why wasn't Peterson's lawyer asked to explain? Part 2 of the interview -http://www.msnbc.msn.com/...4540/vp/24302957#24302978

Don't misunderstand, I have great respect for Dan Abrams and MSNBC and this was one of the better interviews. It just missed the mark and did not zero in on important issues's in this case, outside the box. The element of surprise would have lead the interview in a different direction.

Stacy Peterson has now been missing for one hundred and seventy-seven days. Friends and family have a web site. Please visit http://www.findstacypeterson.com/

Drew Peterson: Camp Marshmallow: Day # 168

Today, marks one hundred and sixty-eight days since the loving Mother and wife of former Bolingbrook seasoned Veteran crime fighter vanished.

On day, one hundred and sixty three, the country watched as Mr. Peterson and his legal marshmallow roaster made an appearance on Larry King. A well rehearsed and scripted show was no surprise. The public relations team did an excellent job with Mr. Peterson.
Coaching pre-scripted and rehearsed responses. Did you notice how Mr. Peterson spoke about Stacy in the present tense? As if she were just around the corner? Or how the public relations team coached Mr. Peterson to focus on negative comments. (by the way that is a classic offender by the text book response). Or, Mr. Peterson's other responses during most of the interview
are not unqiue to "serial offenders" in abusive relationships.

I suspect the legal roaster team thought long and hard when Mr. Peterson responded to a question about his current wife saying "Stacy loves male attention. She could be dancing someplace". Well, that shows compassion for the mother of ones children, doesn't it? And what does that really say about the character of Mr. Peterson?

And what about Larry King? Where were the important questions? Or did he too, agree for the love of ratings, to follow a script?

Questions no one seems to be asking as an example:

Mr. Peterson when is the last time you saw Stacy alive and what were you doing?

Mr. Peterson can you provide a time line for yourself on October 28, 29, 2008?

Mr. Peterson you stated that Stacy left with $25,000 in cash and a red bikini. How did Stacy leave? By a cab, Did someone pick her up? Did she call a limo service? Did she drive herself? If she drove herself she could not have gotten very far, her gas tank was nearly empty, wasn't it? The $25,000 was that in colored monopoly money from the board game or real cash? Was the money all in one hundred dollar bills?

Mr. Peterson what about her purse? Twenty-Five Thousand dollars does not all fit into a wallet, or does it? She didn't take her purse and credit cards, what do you make of that?

If you know she left with money and a bikini what time was that?

What were you doing at the time she took off? Where were the children?

Stacy did all the grocery shopping, didn't she run to the store prior to leaving for her "trip" to pick up baby diapers?

Why did you have the neighbor (who you indicate you do not like) suddenly want to watch the children? Where did you have to go in such a hurry? Didn't you also meet the stepbrother at around that time?

Why would a "troubled" person make up any kind of story about you?

Why did you ask Rick Mims to pick up Stacy's car at the airport?

Where were you went Cassandra made contact with you? Were you home? Out and about? What?

You met Thomas Morphey within twenty fours hours of Stacy vanishing, when did you call him the night before, that day. Was the meeting planned well before just to see one another?

Your so insistent that Stacy is with someone or now as you stated she could be dancing someplace, have you gone out and searched for her at various locations you think she might be?

This private investigator you hired, what exactly have you hired them for?

The investigator has had many months on this case, what have they turned up, so far?

Do they provide you with monthly reports of their progress? What have they said?

Mr. Peterson, the morning of the 28th of October, did you and Stacy have a fight or an argument? Weren't your children in the home at that time?

Mr. King and the producers failed to ask important questions. It would not have mattered if Mr. Peterson & company walked off the show.

The right thing would have been to seek the truth and that just did not happen.

That in and of itself is the tragedy!
Stacy is still missing. The website address is http://www.findstacypeterson.com

Former Officer's Family Calls "Murder" Accidential

Big John Kellis, a retired police officer from Smith County Texas did something really big. And I am not referring to his six foot seven frame.

The former Officer suffered from depression and according to family members, his health was failing him. The real crime is being excused by family members as accidental. You see "Big John" did not mean to murder his wife Gale, it just happened. The gun went off, by accident.

When family members cover up the truth, it does not help anyone.

John Kellis murdered Gales Kellis before taking his own life. The tragedy is two fold. One for the murder victim and the other for family members who through ignorance in wanting to protect a man they love, are unable to come to terms with the bloody truth.

He murdered his wife!

KETK.com news story:

Family reacts as tear gas and another device were thrown into the home where they say their brother, John Kellis, was barricaded.
"We got word this morning that he shot his wife...accidental...an he was barricaded in the house," said Margaret Grimes, one of Kellis' sister.
It was then three of Kellis' sister rushed to the scene hopeful at the time their brother would come come out alive.
"Johnny please come out...we love you...and nothing is as bad as dying....come out and we can talk," said Grimes.
According to Margaret grimes...one of Kellis' sister....her brother was having problems with his wife.
They had trouble...she had left...took the truck...and then we don't know what happened after that, said Grimes.
Grimes also tells us her brother had issues with depression, but never thought he would be capable of anything like this.
"Oh...it shocked us...I mean I just couldn't imagine him doing something like that...so I mean he was pushed to the limit, said Grimes.
It's also a scene shocking many living in this quiet community.
"We all know everybody out here...we kind of watch out for everybody," said a concerned neighbor.
"I was going to go to town for groceries..I won't go now until i see the red lights out," said another concerned neighbor.
In the meantime...Grimes and her two other sisters stood by hoping for the best before it was all over.
"I just lost my mother in law about three weeks ago...and i said...i don't want to have to bury my brother too.
We're told by his sisters...he was a former Jacksonville police officer.

Mercedes McCauley : CSI Miami -Chicago Tragedy Unfolds

Last night in Chicago, a real life scene with a tragic outcome came right out of a the television show CSI Miami .

It began as a murder. Mercedes McCauley, just twenty-two years of age, existed a Chicago Church with another person. They were sitting in a car parked on the street. The shooter pulled up beside them and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Mercedes was taken to the hospital in critical condition. An hour or so afterwards, police arrived at the hospital. The young woman's father over heard the officers talking about a man named Glenn Martinez. He asked what was going on. The police informed the father that the man had committed suicide over on Lake Shore Drive.

"That's the man who shot my daughter", he told police. Apparently, the two were involved in a relationship. Glenn Martinez who was a fan of CSI, matter of fact he never missed an episode.

After he shoots and kills Mercedes McCauley. He heads to the lake, shoots himself in the chest, then throws the murder weapon about fifteen feet into the lake. He was trying to make it look like someone shot him.

Had police not been at the hospital and the father not overheard the conversation, both cases would have gone unsolved. The gun was recoverd today by divers.

Mercedes McCauley did in fact have a criminal order of protection. She was scheduled to be in court on April 17, 20o8.

Real life tragically, does imitate those "entertainment" type shows that are so popular like CSI and others currently on the air.

But this is not entertainment. It is real life. Martinez used a gun. In my book, he was a coward and a murder. Taking away a father's daughter. Leaving her family to live with the aftermath of a war where the death toll numbers do not accurately tell the real story of its victim's.

No this was just not some random act. Or another "domestic violence" incident. It was a murder of the worst kind, one that society continues to ignore. Relationship murder victims have surpassed the number of those killed fighting for our Country.

The enemies of this war are armed and dangerous. They are the friendly neighbor. The person who gives you a ride when you are late for work. The officer who was just at your home investigating a crime. Or, the postman who delivered your mail just this morning.

The victims, we are less likely to remember. There are just far too many of them.

Here is the link to the story: http://www.nbc5.com/news/15812028/detail.html?dl=headlineclick&taf=chi
