However, readers didn’t believe anything in the book could actually

happen, but they liked the story and his style; rough edges and all. Six more mystery/thriller fictions followed.

His lates book, “Surviving the Mob” abo
ut former Gambino family member, Andrew DiDonato is making the best seller lists. Denny is also an integral team member of the Crime Wire Investigative Bureau.

Crime Wire Investigates: Unsolved Murder of Erik Cross Tonight 9:00PM EST

1983 homicide of Vicksburg teen Erik Cross on Crime Wire Investigates March 1, 2011

Erik Stirling Cross
On our February 15 show we profiled the Eric Crosscase. The then 16-year-old was murdered in Vicksburg, Michigan on June 26, 1983. According to Erik's sister, Jackie Cross Mitchell, although witnesses named Erik's killer, no arrests have been made in this nearly 28-year-old case.

On our March 1, 2011 show we'll continue our discussion of Erik's case. Joining us again will be Jackie Cross Mitchell and Kalamazoo Gazette reporter Rex Hall. Anyone with information will be able to speak with Jackie directly during the show by calling 646-478-0982. Questions or comments can also be made through the show's chat room.

You can hear Crime Wire Investigates on Blog Talk Radio beginning at 9 p.m. EST. this March 1, 2011. Also, please visit our http://www.crimewiresite.com/

Together we can make a difference.

Erik's sister Jackie Cross Mitchell has created a Facebook Fan page in hopes of generating new leads it now has over 1500 fans. She has also created a websitehttp://justiceforerik.blogspot.com/

I spoke with Jackie Cross Mitchell this morning and she is determined to find out who murdered her brother and why. Many years have passed since that night in Vicksburg, MI. Many people have come forward with information but yet the case goes unsolved and unjudicated.

For the last 26 years the same six suspects have remained unchanged. Why hasn't this homicide case been prosecuted?

Erik's family had only moved to Vicksburg the year before. He was the new boy in town. He had many friends. Who would do such a heinous act in this small town which normally didn't see this kind of violent crime? Erik suffered horrendous injurieseven the hospital and ENT's could see he had too many injuries to just be considered an hit and run accident.

WHY?
Is Law Enforcement intimidated by the defense attorney of the defendants? Does someone who is involved have money that is making people forget their moral obligations. There is much evidence and this family needs this case to be brought to justice.

What was the motive? Was this over a girl? Did the girl ever tell anyone about this murder? Were drugs involved? Why did the main suspect say he killed Erik inside a dentist office? Did they have a key? Why did they go there? Were they after drugs, such as nitrous oxide?

HOW?
Can anyone who committed this crime or has any knowledge of this crime live with themselves? Now is the time to step forward with any information.

Liz Seccuro, Author of “Crash Into Me” Special Guest and the Unsolved Murder of Patty Vaughan on The Susan Murphy Milano Show “Time’s Up!”

The Susan Murphy Milano Show
“Time’s Up!”
Thursday, February 24
2pm-3pm:
Special Guest:
Liz Seccuro
As a 17 year old student at the University of Virginia, justice was no doubt the last thing in Liz Seccuro’s mind. However, that quickly changed when she became a victim of rape in a fraternity bedroom. Liz and her parents contacted local authorities, as well as campus authorities, she was examined at a local hospital, all the proper reports were made, and yet, with jurisdiction questions and the Dean of Students and the University doing nothing in her behalf, it went no further.
Seccuro graduated and went on to get married and start a family when, out of the blue, her attacker made contact with her. In an effort to complete an AA 12 step program he apologized, but it only fueled Seccuro’s fears for her safety and the safety of her family, and after 21 years, she filed charges. Liz Seccuro forced herself through panic and anxiety to bring about justice for herself and for other victims of rape, exposing the attitudes of college campuses, as well as the
justice system, and shines a light on the lack of concern for rape victims.
“Crash Into Me: A Survivor’s Search for Justice” tells the riveting story of Liz Seccuro’s ordeal.
This brave account reveals an alarming array of mishandling, poor judgment, and obfuscation or outright lies from university officials and from students at the party, and shines light on a systemic lack of concern and care given to rape victims. (Publisher’s Weekly)
3pm-4pm:

Monica Caison from CUE Center for Missing persons will be presenting the case of missing mother of three, Patty Vaughan.
Patty has been missing under suspicious circumstances since Christmas Day, 1996, and may possibly be a victim of intimate partner homicide.
Circumstances of Disappearance
Vaughan was last seen between 18.30 – 21.00 by her estranged husband at their residence in Wilson County,
Texas on December 25, 1996.
Patty and her husband began a trial separation in October 1996. He moved into an apartment in San Antonio, Texas and Patty remained at their
residence on Oak Park Road in La Vernia, Texas with their three children. The couple had been married since 1985. Patty was dating a former boyfriend in December 1996 and the relationship apparently caused an argument between Patty and her estranged husband at her home on December 25, 1996.
She is believed to have driven off after an argument with her husband.
Her husband told authorities that Patty left the house alone on December 25 and simply vanished. He filed for divorce from his wife on December 26, one day after Patty was last seen. Other family members reported her as a missing person to authorities. Patty’s blue Dodge Caravan was discovered abandoned with a flat tire on December 26, one day after she was last seen. The vehicle was located on Loop 1604 in South Bexar County, approximately 5 miles from Patty’s employer and 15 miles from her home. Tests revealed that the tire had been intentionally deflated.
Investigators searched her residence and vehicle and discovered blood inside the van, on the walls and floor of Patty’s bedroom and on a mop inside the house. Someone had attempted to clean the blood from the premises prior to discovery. DNA testing proved that the blood was Patty’s. She has never been located and no arrests have been made in connection with her case.
Foul play is suspected in Patty’s disappearance due to the circumstances involved.
We will be joined by Patty’s sister, Barb Kinsey to examine the case.
Monica will be broadcasting from the search for Krishonda Townsend from Mineral Wells, TX and will give us an update.

A Mothers Wish: Find Her Daughter's Killer- Brittany Danielle McGlone

On the facebook page of Brittany Danielle McGlone you see a vibrant beautiful young woman (pictured) ready for an exciting evening at her high school prom.

A stranger viewing the photos posted by members of her family proudly displayed will see her from the first day she was brought home from the hospital, to every year that followed, marking a journey through the awkward teen years and then, in a blink of an eye, she was gone. Brittany was barely 19-years old, and brutally murdered in [Wood County] Winnsboro, Texas on May 4, 2007.

Brittany was bludgeoned to death in the home. allegedly, of her former boyfriend. You would think that police would already have the person responsible for her murder in custody. But, they do not.

Another holiday is arriving, there are no presents under the tree, no christmas decorations hanging, and with each passing year Brittany's mother's health is in decline. The lights that once burned so brightly in the McGlone home have all but burned out, with the exception of the light on the telephone.

This mother who night after night sits by the phone waiting for it to ring, hoping and praying it is a news reporter or a law enforcement officer informing her that an arrest has been made in her daughter's murder, a suspect is in custody. Sadly, Brittany's mother does hold out much hope that will happen when those in law enforcement have let the case go cold.

Brittany's mother has just one wish this year for Christmas, that someone, anyone with information on her daughter's murder step foward and contact the authorities.

That is her only wish.

If you have any information on this case please contact the Wood County Sheriff's Department, they can be reached at (903) 763-2201.

"Cold Case Continues Collecting Dust"

[pictured above Yolanda Bindics holding her child]

On August 10, 2004, Yolanda Bindics,25 left her job at the Family Dollar store in Jamestown, New York She called her brother, who was watching her 4 children around 8:20pm from her cell phone. When he tried to call her around 8:35 in the evening, there was no answer. That was the last day Yolanda was seen by family and friends.

Her abandoned car was found the next day down the street at the Arby's. In September 2004, her purse, keys, and other items washed up in a storm drain. Two years later, in September 2006, hunters found the remains of Yolanda Bindics in a remote, wooded area in the Town of Charlotte, Chautauqua County.

Investigators have confirmed the remains are Yolanda's, and that she was murdered, but they remain tight-lipped on exactly how she died. "We are feeling very fortunate that we did find the remains, regardless of where they were," said First Assistant District Attorney Tracey Brunecz, "and we are doing what we can with the information we have to further determine who did this to Ms. Bindics."

During the case, investigators have focused on three men, Darien Thomas and Clarence "Carl" Carte, both of whom had children with Yolanda. Authorities also questioned a former police officer by the name of Michael Watson, who reportedly had a relationship with Yolanda. Days after her disappearance, he was placed on paid leave and arrested on unrelated stalking charges against another woman. According to police, Carte had been seen at the Kwik Fill across the street from the Family Dollar store the very same night Yolanda disappeared.

Since the begining police have refused to comment on whether all three, or any of the men, remain persons of interest in this case.

The file of this case remains in a drawer collecting dust. Why aren't police trying to solve this murder? The family is asking for the public's help on this case. If you know something please call the number below. The information you provide is confidential.

There is a $20,000 reward offered by the FBI.

If you have any information regarding the Murder of Yolanda Bindics,
you're asked to contact:
Jamestown FBI at 716-484-7085 or the Jamestown Police at 483-TIPS
or Your Local Law Enforcement Agency.

As a point of interest according to the web site Yolanda's family has, Former Police Officer Michael Watson resigned from the Jamestown Police Department in May 2006, just days before a civil service hearing regarding alleged violations of department policy that stemmed from the stalking and harassment accusations.

Watson is suing the Jamestown Police Department and the city of Jamestown, alleging that investigators maliciously painted him as a suspect following Ms. Bindics’ disappearance.Police, on the other hand, blame the media and the public for reaching such conclusions about Watson, saying they only labeled him as a person of interest, the classification of which included everyone who knew Ms. Bindics and could shed some light on her disappearance.

Former Police Chief Arrested in 36- Year Old Cold case

Juror Thirteen site opened a 36-year-old cold case file on their message boards five weeks ago.

Posting an article written by Lindell Kay of JDNews.com (The Daily News) out of Jacksonville, North Carolina.

After only a few days of the stories coming out about this cold case, two people were arrested for Miller's murder... one was a former police chief.

Motorists found the body[pictured above] of Sergeant William Donald Miller lying in the middle of the road on Western Boulevard halfway between Marine Boulevard and County Club Road on September 16, 1972.

He had been shot, according to an incident report of the time.

Authorities found Miller's car on the shoulder of the road with the engine running, the lights on, a blinker clicking, and a half-cocked pistol on the seat, according to a Daily News archived report.
The Sheriff's Department, the SBI, the Marine Corps and NCIS investigated Hayden for more than a year before Miller's homicide case turned cold. Investigators at the time could not find enough substantial evidence to arrest Hayden, according to the JAG letter.

Thirty-six years later, George Hayden, 57, a police chief at Cape Carteret and Belhaven police departments, was been charged with murder in Miller's shooting death, on September 9, 2008.
Also charged in the case is Vickey Miller Hayden Cooper Babbitt, Miller's wife at the time of his death, in Oregon. Babbitt was arrested in Oregon in mid-September and didn't fight extradition back to North Carolina.

Miller, Hayden and Babbitt were all in the Marine Corps in 1972. Miller and Babbitt were married, and the three were friends. In August 1972, Miller returned to Jacksonville from training in Okinawa in to find Hayden had moved in with Babbitt.
Babbitt left Miller to live with Hayden. On Sept. 16 of that year, Miller went to meet Babbitt, but was gunned down in the middle of Western Boulevard. Investigators say Babbitt lured Miller to the spot, possibly by faking car trouble, and then Hayden shot Miller twice with an M-16 - once in the head and once in the back.
The break in the case came from a key witness who has been in fear of his life over the 36 years since the murder. His identity is still being kept silent because of that fear.
"The horror on the face of the witness was unlike anything I have seen in my 42 years of law enforcement," said Onslow County Sheriff Ed Brown.
Juror Thirteen will be keeping up with this cold case trial!

If you have a case that needs attention, no matter how many years have passed, there is hope.
