The Keeper of Deadly Secrets on August 14, 2005 : Amanda Jones Case

On today's Time's Up broadcast we featured missing, pregnant Amanda Jones 26, a victim of intimate partner violence leading to homicide who vanished from Hillsboro, Missouri on August 14, 2005.  Her mother Bertha Prospst joined us, and we learned so much about the events of that day including; investigators not bothering to interview a close friend who knew important details that could have resulted in furthering the case early on in the investigation.

The last person to have contact with Amanda on August 14, 2005, while she was alive was Bryan Westfall, the father of her child.  He was at one time a college professor let go by a university for sexual harassment.  Westfall also worked as a grounds keeper at the Civic Center where he requested Amanda met him that day. This would also be where her car was found.  It was unlocked with a ultrasound picture of the baby inside.  Missing was Amanda's keys, purse and cell phone.  She likely never made it out of that parking lot.

This is not a case of some missing pregnant mother.  In my opinion Amanda Jones met her fate when entering the parking at 1:00 PM on August 14, 2005.  All because she refused to abort the baby in the early stages of the pregnancy.  The case of mother and baby falls under the Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004.  A law in passed after the murder of Laci Peterson and her unborn child were murdered.  Now, investigators need to handle this cold case as a double homicide.

We discuss important circumstantial facts in the case along with Monica Caison, CUE Center Founder for Missing Persons.  The case is also registered with the organization.  Interesting to note that both Bryan Westfall along with his long time love interest both lawyer up.  It's rare in these types of intimate partner cases for a girlfriend to hire an attorney.  This is an immediate red flag and I believe once you listen to the podcast from the show you'll agree.

There is a new investigator on the case along with numerous sets of expert eyes ready to take the case from cold to that of immediate action.

I have a suggestion for the current love interest of Mr. Westfall's might I suggest you consider completing the Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit located at www.documenttheabuse.com. Those wearing similar shoes in other cases I've been involved with somehow met with an unexpected fate with their own life.  They, the keeper of the secret and holder of the love torch didn't count on the fact when a person kills once, you can bet, they will do it again when they are cornered.  It goes beyond pattern of conduct.  Remember when you've practiced on one, it's easy to perfect on another.

A Missing Person's Case Gone Right: Amy Sue Henslee and Tonya Howarth

In a small town in Hartford, MI, a mother of 2 young boys is reported missing by her husband, all because each day, faithfully, he calls home during breaks at work. When she does not answer, he knows something is wrong, leaves and heads home.

There is no sign of anything out of place, except for the feeling in his heart, he knows something is wrong. He calls around to friends and family, no one has seen her. The husband contacts police, they inform him he must wait, "she might come back they see this all the time." He does not wait and drives around the community looking for his wife.

He returns to the house just before his two boys get off the school bus. Officers arrive, the boys are sent to another location and they continue searching.

The successful outcome to the case happens when the Missing You Foundation enters with their trained team of experienced searchers and dogs. Among the gem within this organization is a man by the name of Jamie Jones.

If it were not for his training and professionalism on a crime scene, the outcome in this case would be very different. Jamie Jones is the sole reason the crime scene remained in tact. Jamie Jones was the reason the recovery, despite the weather was successful. Jamie Jones was the reason the person who committed these crimes was arrested.

From  shallow graves, Amy Sue Henslee and Tonya Howarth were recovered because of the commitment of the charitable organization for families of the missing.

During the search, there was a lot of public speculation, misinformation and finger pointing that, if not for the correct search procedures, could have gone in another direction.

On Crime Wire, our guests for the hour were, James Henslee, widower, and Searcher Jamie Jones. It is an hour of insight rarely captured. And you will hear, based on what Jamie Jones does, how the outcome changes in the eleventh hour.

Perhaps if we all email the Michigan Governor Granhola asking that Jamie Jones be considered by the Michigan Community Service Award to honor a real hero we could in some way acknowledge how one man made a hell of difference too so many! Send your emails here http://www.michigan.gov/mcsc and nominate Jamie Jones.

Radio Show Receives Solid New Lead in Joel Helt Missing Person's Case

Missing persons cases are often more difficult to piece together and find new information as the years pass. Technology such as computers, cell phones and tracking devices in 1987 were yet to be developed. But, when you continue doing everything you can with today's information and social network highway to keep the information on the case in the public eye as Gina Schuster has done with her former classmate, you get results.

From facebook pages to Websites and good old fashioned detective work both by Gina and the team at Management Resources LTD. of New York, the case is moving forward.

Never mind the family and investigators were denied case file access under the freedom of information act by the State Police because the case is still categorized as "active" when in fact it was not until Private Investigator Robert Rahn stepped into the case. Never mind because the 3 young men, Kelly Diaz, Wade Marks and John LaForge out with Joe the evening of Saturday, January 17,1987, whom all returned without Joe, were never interviewed by police so there are no statements as it was "claimed."

After Thursdays show where we featured Joe Helt's case on Time's UP, solid and promising information was received after the broadcast as to what exactly happened that night. There are witnesses whom provided specific details to Joe's last night.

Three teenagers, now men are reading this and wondering which one out of the 3 finked on them. A deal is likely still possible. Who will lawyer up first is anyone's guess. There is no doubt they were the last to see Joe. They were arguing and fighting with him. In case anyone is curious you can be prosecuted by a District Attorney without a body.

Gentlemen, this is no longer a poker game to see who folds first.

The Susan Murphy Milano Show- Live Thursday 2-3 PM with True Crime Author Diane Fanning and Sgt Kim A. SaucierPM Eastern Time

The Susan Murphy Milano Show, “Time’s Up!”

Thursday, July 7, 2-3PM ET

Listen LIVE: on HereWomenTalk

Diane Fanning is one of America’s premier true crime authors. At the top of a genre that often gets a bad rap in the literary world, Fanning brings esteem, doing due diligence when presenting a criminal case in book format. Her bookMOMMY’S LITTLE GIRL is the definitive account on the life and death of 2 year old, Caylee Anthony. Now that the case is coming to the end, we will discuss her opinion of what happened, and why.

Fanning has been writing a daily wrap up on her blog, Writing is a Crime, on the trial of Casey Anthony, the Florida mother charged with the murder of her daughter, Caylee.

Several of Fanning’s books deal with the issue of intimate partner homicide and violence, including the Edgar award nominated, WRITTEN IN BLOOD, about the death of Kathleen Peterson and the subsequent conviction of her husband, Michael Peterson. Another book, “Gone Forever,” written about the death of a mother of three, leaving her marriage and winding up a murder victim, was praised highly by many who work with domestic violence victims and the aftermath of trauma in the home, recommending the book to victims of violence with whom they come in contact.

Diane Fanning is also the author of the crime mystery series that follows the work of Lt. Lucinda Pierce. The fourth book in the series,TWISTED REASON, has recently been release in paperback.

Brittanee Drexel: Snapshot to Justice

Brittanee Drexel, 17, vanished on April 25, 2009, around 8:00 PM. This week marks the 2 year anniversary of when she was last seen in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Last week, trained search teams from the Cue Center for Missing Persons in Wilmington, N.C., returned to Myrtle Beach, combing new areas in hopes of finding of Brittanee Drexel.

On Thursday, April 21st, Dawn Drexel, her mother, who was our studio and on the show "Time's Up" during the second hour, from 3-4 pm. To listen to re-broadcast here--:http://herewomentalkradio.com/home/archives_details/710.

A special plea or message was made on the show directly to those whom were with Brittanee Drexel -- at the very least, call in a tip to law enforcement and or the CUE center providing information on what happened and where she can be found. Today, was the deadline. Again, I realize and understand that each and every person involved with knowledge has been "scared into silence." Those who were informed they "will be killed" if they talk- still have an opportunity to give the information anonymously. Remember computer and communication technology including cell phones and blackberry's is also important in unsolved and missing persons cases. Forensic data can now be extracted and is being used in criminal cases (even those dating back a couple of years).

Below are photo's of those who "claim not to know" Brittanee all taken on 3/27/2009 the month before the underage teenager vanished.

The teenagers that brought the underage minor with them during spring break had claimed they "really don't" or "did not" know Brittanee Drexel prior to the trip. That is not true. They did know her. In fact on March 27, 2009, they were with her at the house. Her parents house for a party she hosted and they all attended.

Earlier in the day as evidenced in this photo taken on 3/27/2009, with (Alanna Lippa (left) and Brittanee Drexel (right) it was fun and sun on the beach in New York. Friends enjoying the day.

Until Brittanee Drexel is found or a tip is provided leads to the truth you can expect continued photos of interest and information important to this case on those whom were with her.

In addition, the nationally syndicated Roth show (www.therothshow.com) will continue the coverage Wednesday, 7:00 PM Eastern time, April 27, 2011.

Brittanee Drexel: To Her "Friends" in Rochester, New York

Brittanee Marie Drexel

Brittanee Drexel, 17, vanished on April 25, 2009, around 8:00 PM. This weekend marks the 2 year anniversary of when she was last seen in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Today, trained search teams from the Cue Center for Missing Persons in Wilmington, N.C., returned to Myrtle Beach, combing new areas in hopes of finding of Brittanee Drexel.

This also marks the start of a series of articles and media on this case. Beginning with Dawn Drexel, her mother, who was in studio and on the show "Time's Up" during the second hour, from 3-4 pm today. To listen to the re-broadcast here is the link: http://herewomentalkradio.com/home/archives_details/710

This first article is directed to the teenagers who accompanied 17-year old Brittanee from Rochester, NY to Myrtle Beach that weekend two years ago. In my opinion, each one of you are responsible and have important information that can solve this case. I strongly suggest that you and or your family listen to the entire second hour of the show.

It is a fact that the teen girls and young men who traveled with her abruptly left Myrtle Beach approximately 5 hours from the time Brittanee went missing and headed back to Rochester, New York, minus one very important underage age passenger.

It is a fact that whether you participated directly in any act of violence as it relates to Brittanee Drexel, you each can be charged with obstruction of justice for simply remaining silent and not coming forward. Translation: prison time.

Fact: you have each remained silent because you have possibly been threatened. All it takes is for one of you to break and all of you will be facing prison time.

You do not need to publicly come forward with the information. No one will ever know who placed a call. All one of you needs to do is contact the tip line at the cue center 910-232-1637, your call is confidential and anonymous.

Again, I urge you to listen to today's radio show for those in the "know" there is a special message for you.

All anyone is asking is for this young woman to be located so her family can finally bring her home.
