Tiffany Hartley: No Investigation Part 1

Tiffany Hartley: No Investigation Part 1
by Susan Murphy Milano and Peter Hyatt
Is Tiffany Hartley Responsible for the disappearance of David Hartley
Yes
No

In the majority of intimate homicide cases connecting the dots of the alleged crime happens with facts often not reviewed by all parties in a case. The victim's actions prior to going missing or their remains being discovered can all but vanish. This is problematic and can limit answers from coming forth. Law enforcement, at times, may not have enough evidence to proceed so it goes into the cold case or unsolved category.

Not only this, but prosecutors, unless the case has new evidence, must move on to the next case to be considered for prosecution. Heavy case loads and under staffing are the norm. The surviving families can be clueless especially when the person likely involved is someone they would never suspect or believe to have harmed the person now missing or deceased. So they often remain quiet.

Sometimes, especially in the passage of time and ever increasing frustration, families contact experts like those in Crime Wire, to connect the dots and have the case presented with new information and facts in hopes if opening an investigation. Sometimes a fresh look can make all the difference in the world.

The families, exhausted with frustration, but pressing forward just the same, will ask outside experts and consultants to view a case file, which may include interview transcripts. Here, Statement Analysis can be of great value.  Statement analysis, also called "statement validity assessment", "content analysis", "investigative discourse analysis", and "scientific content analysis" is a technique that can be used to detect concealed information, missing information, and whether the information that person has provided is true or false. Statement analysis involves an investigator searching for linguistic cues and gaps in a subject's testimony or preliminary statements and using follow-up questions to uncover discrepancies.

The family may seek the assistance of a profiler who can give a road map to what type of person could commit a certain type of crime.

In domestic homicides, a domestic violence expert and advocate, with too many years experience in helping families, is contacted, and is then able to advise the family of what steps can be now taken, especially when an initial investigation ended up as a cold case.

In the case of David Hartley, missing since September 30th, we are faced with a unique and perplexing situation.

It is not that law enforcement has done a poor job with the investigation, but rather:

Law enforcement hasn't even bothered to conduct an investigation.

Zapata County, Texas, Sheriff Ziggy Gonzalez received a report of a missing and presumed dead individual with the only witness being his wife.

He did not question a single aspect of her story.

Although her story sounded incredible, he did not follow any investigative protocol; no polygraph, for instance, for the only witness to this crime.

He also claimed to be unable to search for David Hartley's body, nor to investigate an alleged murder. Why? Because the only witness to the crime said, repeatedly, that it happened on "the Mexico side" in open water; as if such a demarcation could be known.

So, based upon the word of only one unpolygraphed witness, Sheriff Gonzalez refused to conduct an investigation.

Can it be imagined that a spouse could enter a police station and report a murdered spouse in such a way as to have law enforcement decline to investigate? What would have happened if Scott Peterson had been believed on the day of the initial report? Would police have then, as Sheriff Gonzalez did, simply say, "no need to investigate; I took a look at Scott and can tell he is truthful"??

Drew Peterson?

It is an absurdity that it only heightened when media follow suit and fail to ask questions of Zapata County. Can someone call himself an "investigative journalist" and simply accept the word of the man who refused to investigate?

Somehow, an experienced sheriff heard a story of a head shot murder, with "spraying" of gunfire, by ruthless Mexican "pirates" (note that pirates and drug cartels may not be the same thing) who, not only shot at Tiffany without a single hit upon her or her jet ski, but also "decided" (Tiffany's word) to let her go; but then opened fire and missed; yet did not think an investigation was needed. Somehow, this is what happened, yet journalists have remained silent? Media, for the most part, has hailed Tiffany Hartley as a hero?

We believe friends and family members of missing person David Hartley are having their doubts about what really happened to their loved one.

The poll question will show what the public thinks. Thus far, in our experience, the public overwhelmingly believes that Tiffany Hartley is deceptive in her interviews and is responsible for the disappearance of David Hartley.

Having said this we are asking the media and both the Mexican Government and the FBI to at the very least investigate David Hartley’s case.

It is not possible for the events with the jet skis as described by Tiffany Hartley to have taken place.

1) She claims David was thrown from the ski while in motion. The jet skis require a key by any user either around the wrist or attached to the life vest to run. Once the key was released from its’ ignition, the jet ski came to stop and fell into the water;

2)The life vest David wore after “being shot” as Tiffany claims would have kept his body face up in the water (according to experts) therefore she did not turn over David to see any wound;

3)There is no balance board or rudder on the jet ski and Tiffany at 110 pounds or anyone for that matter could not have “turned over a body in water”;

4)Tiffany claims there were 3 boats (or 2 whatever story you believe) the wake in the water or motion from the propelled motor engines of the boats make it impossible to keep the jets skis in one place as a matter fact manufacturer instructions for jet skis owners say to stay out of the way from other boats when in the water because it will interfere with the jet skis performance and it is dangerous and can shut the jet skis down immediately.

If you reenacted the events in a lake any as told by Tiffany Hartley the findings would conclude that David Hartley did not die as we were lead to believe.

The media has opted to believe this woman without a shred of evidence or facts.

As an important example: below is a transcript from Nancy Grace on 10/5/2010
http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1010/05/ng.01.html

GRACE: Well, I`ve got to tell you something, Lt. Garza, I really believe her. And the fact that the body has not been discovered yet, and that the jet skis has not been discovered, that doesn`t concern me at all. Can`t you look at this lady and tell she`s telling the truth?

Nancy Grace of all people to actually say on the air “Can’t you look at this lady” speaks volumes as it relates to understanding and reporting on intimate partner crimes and homicide.

Then Nancy Grace asks defense attorney Richard Herman. This is interesting as Herman himself lost the love of his life, his wife to a horrific murder. He understands better than most and he can smell the nonsense a mile away. When he calls it likes he sees it on the Hartley case Nancy Grace shuts him down.

RICHARD HERMAN, DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Nancy, her story sounds ridiculous to me. Why would they aim a gun at her and not shoot her and not take her jet ski? Pirates just don`t come up to people and shoot them for fun of shooting people. I don`t know what went on here. It`s tragic. This man apparently is dead. But the story sounds absolutely ridiculous.

GRACE: No, no. Because I have prosecuted cases where victims were murdered, were gunned down just for the hell of it.

With Nancy Grace's claims to be able to just "look" at someone and know the truth, we have 80 years of research via polygraph for nought. We don't need polygraph, statement analysis, forensics, interviews, interrogations, or even crime scene analysis: We only need Nancy Grace to "look" at someone and she can tell us if the person "did it" or not! This is ego run amuk.

Nancy Grace, Anderson Cooper, Jane Valdez-Mitchell, Geraldo, Gayle King and others in the media, have been played. We challenge anyone in the media to prove us wrong. Each of you reported a story, nothing more. Please stop calling the only eye witness and possible suspect “cute” or looking at her as though she is not capable of planning the perfect murder.

Tomorrow we continue with more facts, including why Statement Analysis has concluded that Tiffany Hartley is deceptive in her interviews. Our conclusion will give readers a course of action to take to help find justice for David Hartley.

Theresa Parker: Can Finally Go Home

Theresa Parker, a 911 dispatcher with the Walker County Sheriff’s office in Atlanta, vanished without a trace in March of 2007. She was going through a divorce with her estranged husband Sgt. Sam Parker, a Police Officer in Lafayette.

Sam claimed as so many whom commit intimate partner homicide,” he had nothing to do with her disappearance.” And they she “ran away to start a new life.”

In September 2009, a jury found Sam Parker guilty of malice murder after a three week trial, even though Theresa's body had never been found. Judge Jon "Bo" Wood sentenced him to serve the rest of his life in prison.

Today, at news conference officials announced the remains of Theresa Parker were found off Fullerton Road in Lyerly -- southwest of Summerville in rural Chattooga County. Ironically, this is the area Sam knew very well.

In cases of Intimate Homicide when a victim’s suddenly vanishes, often when remains are finally discovered, the killer almost always goes to a place that is familiar specifically to them. In this case it was near Sam Parker’s childhood home, an area he knew better than anyone.

Today, from behind the blue wall Theresa Parker's voice, although silenced is finally going home with her family where she belongs. The discovery of her remains elimates the possibility for Parker to file an appeal (because he can no longer claim there is not a body) and ask the higher courts for a new trial.

Bruce Beresford Redmond: An Expert At Packaging Murder?

Eleven days have passed since the Mexican authorities issued a warrant for the arrest of Bruce Beresford-Redmond for the murder of his wife, Monica, back in April. It doesn't appear that this walking, talking, alledged murderer will be taken into custody anytime soon. Think how easy it was for him to leave Mexico and return to the United States even though his passport had been taken from him so he could not leave the country.

If there is anyone who qualifies as a flight risk it is Beresford-Redmond.

I had an idea! Maybe the televison executives who purchased Bruce's new reality program after the murder of his wife :"Shedding For The Wedding" would consider donating a portion of the proceeds to victims of intimate partner homicide instead of funding (in my opinion) this piece of human garbage's legal defense fund.
If an abuser walks and talks like a duck, guess what folks he is one!

And the laws in Mexico are complicated and unique:

Mexican Federal law is based on the Napoleonic Code. There is no presumption of innocence, no jury trial, and traditional common law and statutory rules of evidence don’t apply. All trials are conducted by affidavit or declaration and witnesses rarely, if ever, testify in open court. Victims and their families have no practical ability to witness the trial or be heard at sentencing which is controlled by the Mexican Federal Penal Code. Although the maximum sentence in Mexico is a term of sixty years for murder, a sentence can, and frequently is, reduced through the appellate process or the “Amparo” which is the rough equivalent to our habeas proceedings.

Although efforts are currently underway to address the wide-spread corruption which has historically plagued Mexican judicial and law enforcement communities, little is known about the results of Article IV prosecutions previously submitted. Often warrants remain in their system, unserved, for years. Prosecutions are commenced and then dismissed or sentences substantially reduced in the appellate courts. No verifiable system exists to track actual sentences served or to create a criminal database.

Here is the classic textbook statement of denial from a "model" husband and father claiming any wrong doing in the murder of their wife or girlfriend. Maybe we should start manufacturing "abuser vomit bags" after each murder of an innocent life lost as a result of domestic violence?
Beresford-Redmond released the following statement through his attorney on May 31, 2010:

"Monica was the axis around which our whole family revolved. From her sisters and parents to my parents and of course to our children and me, she was everything to us.

I am devastated at her loss; and I am incensed at the suggestion that I could have had anything to do with her death. I am innocent. My children have had one parent taken from them by a senseless act of violence. I implore the Mexican authorities not to take their remaining parent by a miscarriage of justice and to do what is right not just what is expedient.

Attorney Richard Hirsch suggested Monica's murder might be connected to several other killings that have occurred in the Cancun resort area. He released a statement of his own on Monday:

We have been advised that Mexican authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of Bruce Beresford-Redman in connection with the murder of his wife, Monica. This news, if true, is extremely disturbing since it appears that this case is being handled in a manner outside the normal procedures in Mexico.

It is our understanding that the issuance of an arrest warrant normally entails a detailed judicial review that takes anywhere from several weeks to several months. It appears that the way this matter is being handled constitutes a rush to judgment. Mr. Beresford-Redman is innocent of this crime and is prepared to defend himself in a court of law."

Monica Beresford-Redmond deserves her day in court too! It is called Justice!

Surviving Domestic Violence and Stalking with Susan Murphy Milano on AWN Radio Thursday May 27, 2010 at 9:00 PM EST/ 8:00 PM CST

Surviving domestic abuse & stalking means strategic planning & playing it smart. When faced with daily survival tasks & overwhelming fears a victim is too often left with no time to properly construct safety plans & an escape guide. If you toss into the mix the unique sensory differences faced by individuals on the autism spectrum, then you will understand why Susan Murphy Milano's new book "Time's Up" is proving to be a vital asset.

All people react in a highly sensitized manner when processing stress surrounding violence & ongoing abuse. For individuals on the autism spectrum, most experience unique sensory challenges pertaining to Executive Function & will be faced with processing an even more exaggerated sensory reaction when enduring acts of violence, stalking, and/or ongoing abuse.

Some of these noticeable neuro-differences for individuals on the spectrum are:

•Making arbitrary choices
•Breaking down large tasks into smaller steps
•Recognizing possible options in their situation
•Deciphering how they feel about various options
•Implementing information and/or their skills necessary to complete tasks
•"Beginning" (actually start moving in response to thought)
In Time's Up, Susan has already done your thinking for you as she guides you through the necessary strategies, and life saving tools. Law enforcement agencies, social workers, psychologists, and attorneys are looking to it as a valuable resource when assisting clients.

"The Battle Cry"

Victims of intimate partner violence ,and those killed by a person’s rage for the sake of argument, is invisible in the eyes of society. We each understand, as we read about tragic cases in the news, that the epidemic exists, but it does not have a voice or a face — because the media places victims lives in the "unimportant category box." Unless a case is filled with a rapid fire of interest like Drew Peterson ,who, in my opinion, might as well have two heads. My less than favorite "dickless wonder" only gained national attention because he was a cop and two wives met their tragic end by this "clever like a fox" individual guarding and controlling his domain, in my opinion, as only a serial abuser knows how to accomplish.

There have been few cases of late that have reached the level of coverage since the Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman murders. The death toll in this war on intimate partner homicide has risen considerably since the OJ trial and the media coverage has been nothing more than a brief burp.

 I could count the Laci Peterson murder and the death of her unborn son, but the coverage was in large part due to her mother who jumped and shouted from every roof top until the media covered the story. Laci Peterson's death was only covered because it was filled with tabloid type juicy twists and turns, when it should have received attention solely based on the fact that an innocent woman and mother-to-be lost her lost her life to war in battle due to a husband's rage.

For the thousands of other causalities whose "battle cry" has never been heard their lives must have more importance then a one liner on a grave marker.

Media coverage, other than sites such as Websleuths posting cases, or a grieving family member starting a web page in memory of their loved one, or on a Facebook page asking for information from the public in hopes of keeping interest on an unsolved case alive in hopes someone will listen, simply will fade away as if the casualty of war never existed in the first place. The unnamed soldier of war at least has a place in which to be counted and is remembered. Each year the President of the United States places a wreath on the tomb in honor the unknown soldier.

The war in the home is not a recognized battle, yet it should be. A victim cannot fight without having the necessary training and tools in order to survive. At a minimum it would require our legal system to handle cases of violence in the home as though they are positioned on the battlefield of war. From divorce to child custody, court orders of protection, to the general handing down the orders to their troops.

This is not a game. It is a real life battle involving families, children, mothers and fathers.

"Battle Cry" will work towards creating that voice for accountability and change how these cases are handled, investigated, and ultimately portrayed. Obviously, I can not do this alone. I need your help. Heed the call and join the cry..."The Battle Cry."

Former Survivor Producer Bruce Beresford-Redman "Drinking Mojita's"

It appears that the Mexican authorities have been lax in keeping tabs on the former television producer of the famed show “Survivor” whom has yet to be charged with the murder of his wife Monica Beresford-Redmond.

The case is still under investigation, but, apparently no one thought to detain the former producer or put restrictions on his travels other than take his passport away and say he could not leave Mexico. What is really in place, other than formal lip service, to stop a person who has resources at their fingertips to do whatever the heck they want? He likely set up his own personal print shop complete with an ink kit he bought on the black Mexican market to create travel documents that look like the real thing. Or he had some help along the way.

Think about it for a moment, just how manipulative is this bozo?

He is a master at having people do things for a popular reality show just because it makes for great television. Somehow, after an affair during the marriage, he was able to convince Monica to go on a so called “second honeymoon,” and that landed the loving mother dead in drain pipe near the hotel where the couple was vacationing. Anyone have tabs on that former lover of Beresford-Redmond ? Just curious, you know they always seem to help the ones they love when in trouble. Have U.S. authorities been contacted to question this person? What about obtaining a search warrant on computer activity? How about the cell phone activity of this individual? Oh wait, I apologize, Beresford-Redman has yet to be charged in the murder of his wife. So perhaps the former love interest is off the authories radar.

And the question of the day is, why hasn’t Bruce Beresford-Redmond been charged? Is it because from Mexico you can not obtain search warrants on pre-planned, possible criminal activities from another country? What about the FBI? Where is there involvement on this case, other than Monica’s family members who are asking for justice in this obvious ( my opinion of course) murder of intimate partner homicide. Bruce Beresford-Redmond must have located the e-book version of “how to get away with murder.” It’s a very popular read among abusive men who, in my opinion, want to either make the person they are in a relationship with or married to vanish without a trace, or eliminate them from life and have it look like it was a random act of violence.

According to the associated press wires and the Websleuths forum, Mexican authorities have been looking for former "Survivor" producer Bruce Beresford-Redman for several days with no success.

I would post his photo, but, chances are he has totally changed his appearance. He could have shaved his head, grown a beard, put on or lost weight. And ,again, he has not been charged with any crime.

Maybe someone from the State Department with a human heart can get involved? Or does anyone know the telephone number to Dog the Bounty Hunter? He is pretty good at locating just about anyone.

If I appear to have a sarcastic tone, it is because I do. Another innocent woman, wife and mother of two children was found murdered. The only person, in my opinion, responsible is roaming free, wearing a flowery pattern button down shirt, blending in with the tourists, and drinking mojito’s in some foreign county, celebrating his freedom while he works on his next reality show "Surviving The Sewers ...of Mexican Justice."

Wendy Stevens and a Husband's Rage

Wendy Stevens went through a bank ATM machine, her four children in the car with her when five rounds of gunfire blasted into the SUV killing the 36-year of mother.

This was not a random act of violence. It was a husbands rage.

As I pen this post, it is the children who will be forever scarred by this single, life altering event. When a child witnesses the cold blooded murder of a parent. that vision is literally tatooed in them for the remainder of their days on earth. The repeated memory of these children will be of being helpless and watching as Mommy is shot,  bullets entering her body with lighting speed while buckled up in her seat slumped over the steering wheel.  It is the last picture they will have of their Mother.

In my opinion. no amount of therapy will prepare them for their life's journey. The months ahead will be cruel as they attempt to get through a single day without reliving this nightmare. The news coverage of this case will go on for months and perhaps years.

When the children return to school they will feel isolated and alone. They will not be able to cope with seeing parents drop off their school mates without remembering their mother. The kids will have difficulty in anything that reminds them of their interaction with their Mother. It is my hope that the community will rally around these children and embrace them gently as they take baby steps back into society.

That the adults in their lives will protect them from ignorant individuals. some who knew or were related to either the victim or the murderer, who show their lack of intelligence as they post inapprorpiate comments of this tragedy on various Internet sites. Repeating them here would be giving true ignorance a forum for folks who have no clue about Intimate Partner violence and homicide.

There is one Internet comment I will post from someone named Dixie 17:

"Wendy is my aunt and she was a great mother. She was a loving, fun, and caring person with a big heart. She had four beautiful children and she loved them with all of her heart; anyone who knew her could tell you that. It is such a tragedy that these young children had to witness their mothers death. I have met mike quite a few times and he is a twisted person. He has been arrested for strangling her so she put a restraining order on him. He was arrested again for violating the restraining order, and he continued to stalked her. I believe he deserves a whole lot more than the state of Alabama would allow. On top on murdering the mother of his two children he put his own child’s life in danger. So for those of you who posted comments in his favor need to look at the facts, and you may also need to talk to a counselor. Rest in peace my love, you are missed dearly"

[Case Overview-Wendy Stevens filed for divorce in January and she also had a court order of protection against her estranged husband who was, according to the judge's order. violent and stalking her. On Tuesday, May 11, 2010, as he killed Wendy, the coward fled the crime scene. On Wednesday Michael Berry was arrested and charged with her murder, on that same morning he was scheduled to appear in court for violating the order.]

Rest in peace Wendy Stevens and may God grant you the ability to watch over your children and direct their lives from the heavens.

New Handbook: "How To Get Away With The Ultimate Murder"?

Another woman vanishes. This time the young mother of 2 children, ages 3 and 5, while walking to the mailbox in front of her parents home, still in her pajamas, is abducted.

Venus Stewart has been missing since the morning of April 26, 2010. If you have learned anything from this site it is that I do not jump to conclusions. There are many cases of missing women and those found murdered that you do not see written about here because of various information I am unable to obtain about the case at the time. And sticking my neck out without the facts or restricted information is not healthy to the victims nor their families. But, bringing their case,s whenever possible, to the public's attention and those who are in a relationship with an abusive person is the very least we can each do in hopes of preventing another tragedy.

My work and expertise is based soley on 20 years with these cases of intimate partner violence, police officer abuse within the home, stalking, domestic violence and homicide.

The case of missing Venus Stewart has many scratching their heads, with the exception of law enforcement and few others, myself included. The estranged husband was in another state and by car he would have had to drive 13 hours there (maybe he rented a car or borrowed one) and 13 hours back by the time police questioned him after Venus was abducted.

Lets get out my note book on this case-
Fact: the couple was going through a divorce;
Fact: the couple was going through a major custody battle;
Fact: Venus moved out of the marital residence in Virgina and into her parents home in Michigan;
Fact: The couple had 2 children;
Fact: Vensus Stewart had obtained numerous police reports;
Fact: Vensus Stewart had obtained a minimum of 2 orders of protection from a judge;
Fact: She told friends and family she was in fear for her life from this man;
Fact: According to Venus and in court orders of protection she informed the courts her life was in danger.

It is possible that someone was hired by the estranged husband the day Vensus was abducted. This reminds me of another recent case where the person of interest was in another location, a casino, gambling, at the time of the murders. Allegedly, a month before the shooting, Johnny Borizov hired his best friend, Jacob Nodarse to kill Angela and her parents. The evening of the shooting, Borizov was at a Joliet casino, captured on casino video, which he could conveniently claim as an air-tight alibi. According to sealed DuPage County court documents, Angela and Borizov had been scheduled to appear at a hearing a week after the killings. To read the case go here.

Police are looking for a man, in the Venus Stewart disappearance, who people in the rural town saw hanging around the day before and thought it was suspicious. And police have issued a sketch of the man. Could this person have been hired by the estranged husband to help the day Venus was abducted? At this point, no one seems to know that answer.

Now, if I am an angry abuser, not wanting the person with whom I am in a realtionship with to leave, and I have a violent temper, I am going to boil over like hot liquid on a stove. And, as an abuser, I have a lot of time to think out a plan of action. I am going to threaten the person where no one else can hear me. I will make a victim's life unbearable in mediation meetings with mental health evaluators, while sitting dressed neatly and showing the world what a wonderful person I am. The moment the session is over I will shoot those looks of "now you did it" and "you are going to pay for this." Next, as custody is being determined, as an abuser I am outraged and say to myself, "she is not getting away with this alive."

I then, as the abuser, figure out where to get that "handbook" available to members only in an e-book format that the recently formed "secret society of abusers" are all reading titled, "How to Get Away With the Ultimate Murder," author unknown.

For some abusers, in my expert opinion, the "handbook" has worked in cases where the victim has vanished without a trace. There must be a chapter in the "handbook" on how to correctly lawyer up, as you will notice each "person of interest" no longer cooperates with authorities, often hiring a fairly skilled defense attorney, almost immediately. The legal hired gun acts as the shield or the mouth piece for the only person, once again in my expert opinion, behind the vanishing act of their loved one.

Isn't it rather strange that the victim is often the mother of their children, estranged wife or former girlfriend. And, more often than not, they are going thru a divorce or custody battle. And, yes, I need to mention that a person is innocent until proven guilty.

Every single one of these cases has a common theme, the person has been erased from the planet. And a common theme does not make one guilty of the crime. But, it is highly unusual that the person with whom the relationship has ended does not have a motive. The facts, although circumstantial, do carry a lot of weight, but, often not enough for a grand jury indictment unless you have a body.

So, I offer the following suggestions to law enforcement in this case where the "handbook" has obviously been downloaded:

  • First obtain a search warrant for all computers both business, personal, close friends and perhaps those of a relative, too.
  • Gas receipts, credit cards used within that time period must be gathered.
  • Unusual purchases at hardware and drugstores.
  • Where was the person 72 hours prior to the abduction? Were they at work? Did they call in sick?
  • Bank withdrawals within a two week period prior to her being taken.
  • Cell phone activity needs to be captured between the time of the abduction and the following 36 hours after the abduction.

I will close with the words I copied today from a post at  Websleuths  following this case:

"I think that many women who've had an abusive spouse in their past may somewhat identify with Venus. She left her abuser, did what was RIGHT, and yet she's currently missing and her abuser is the only named person of interest in the case.
I give Venus kudos for, against all odds, leaving her abuser and getting her children out of that environment. There is no telling what her poor daughters have witnessed in the past. Worse, it can't be as awful as what they're experiencing now and will in the future...everything that we know about spousal abuse has come to fruition in this case. And as a result, these two girls will probably grow up motherless, but at least knowing that their mother mustered the courage to get them out of an abusive situation, even though it cost her life."

Could "Time's Up" have helped Monica Beresford-Redman before it was too late?

The moment I heard the news that former television producer of the show "Survivor's"wife, Monica Beresford-Redman ,had been found dead of strangulation in a sewer while the couple and their children were vacation, my heart sank. I knew there was more to this tragic end than was being reported.

The sister of the slain wife of "Survivor" producer, Bruce Beresford-Redman, said, "he had been having an affair, and that the couple went to Mexico to patch things up.” I realize the toxicology reports and other DNA results are not back yet, but, this walks, talks and smells, in my opinion, like premeditated murder.

Abusers are clever in every aspect when it pertains to harming those in their lives. Think about it for a moment. He is allegedly having an affair with someone outside the marriage. His mind is clearly not on his wife or children. Maybe the person with whom he is having an affair says something like “unless you leave your wife and kids, we are history.” Or perhaps Bruce Beresford Redman is in love with this person and decides the easiest way out of his marriage is to take Monica on a planned trip out of the country for a “second honeymoon.” Considering he traveled the world as a producer it is likely he would have an idea of the best place to go without raising any eyebrows. Bruce makes Monica believe the affair has ended and he wants to recommit to his love for Monica and the kids. She informs family and friends they are taking a trip in hopes of patching things up.

In the mind of an abuser, the main objective in the majority of intimate violence homicide's is to remove the obstacle, allegedly, in this case, the mother of his children and wife Monica, all together from his life.

Monica Beresford-Redman in my opinion did not have a chance in hell for survival once she got on that plane. I have to believe that somewhere in her gut she knew something wasn’t right with the trip and on good faith went ahead anyway hoping their lives would get back on track. Domestic violence homicide is no longer a single act of heated rage or an isolated incident. It is an epidemic, and we can expect more mothers, sisters, community members and co-workers to lose their lives at the hands of those who profess to love them.

In my opinion, had Monica Beresford completed an Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit document and video (example show above) prior to her getting on that plane to Mexico, the person responsible would be arrested and charged with her murder.

If you learn anything from this site it is to be on guard if you are in a relationship with an abuser. Before you take a trip or announce you are ending the relationship or filing for divorce, as a safety precaution, you must prepare an Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit document and video. In the event something happens to you at least you have prepared documentation in advance, just in case you do suddenly go missing or discovered as too many women are, dead.
