The Susan Murphy Milano Show "Time's Up!" Thursday 2/2/2012 at 2pm ET

Everything Old Becomes New Again!

Neil Schori,ImaginePublicityFrom her visit with Pastor Neil Schori, in the same church where Stacy Peterson confided in him, Susan Murphy Milano and Neil Schori assisted several women in the completion of their individual safety plans and the all important, Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit
As Pastor of Naperville Christian Church,  Schori has had the opportunity to be more than just a Pastor giving a sermon each Sunday and teaching the lessons of the Bible to his congregation.  Neil’s works go far beyond the pulpit, and as a young, well versed individual, he speaks to those who may not otherwise hear his messages.
Neil has devoted much of his time and talent, not only with providing aid to Haiti, but also advocating and assisting victims of violence within his community. He is listed on the National Registry as a Certified Trainer on Document the Abuse (documenttheabuse.com) and is available to train for first line responders in the E.A.A. Model of Approach.  Neil is currently organizing others in the faith based community to embrace the issue of intimate partner violence and urging them to take a larger role in it’s prevention by reaching within each church and community to provide the simple, but effective procedures as seen at Document the Abuse.

———————–
Susan Murphy Milano has worked with victims of violence for over 20 years following the death of her mother at the hands of her police officer father who brought the violence of the streets of Chicago home each day. Green to the gills on how the “system” worked, Murphy Milano hit the streets vowing to change the way the world looked at victims of violence and improving on services and procedures available to women like her mother.
One of those surviving victims from the past will join the show to discuss how she was badly beaten and left for dead. One of several very high risk cases that were passed to Susan Murphy Milano as a last resort, Jackie Keys will recount what it was like back then, in the early 90′s, what she was taught to do to survive and move into a new life, free of violence and the abuser who attacked her.
Along with Jackie Keys from the past, Tracey Murphy makes another appearance relating present day procedures, lack of resources, and the overall climate in assistance for victims of abuse.  Tracey will talk about what helped her and her children get out of an abusive relationship and what she’s doing today to keep her family safe from the abuser.

Drew Peterson Remains Behind Bars and Stacy Peterson Remains Missing

Earlier today, the Illinois Supreme court denied a motion from the defense team of Drew Peterson's to be released from jail while they review the appeal filed by the Will County State's Attorney's office in the case. Peterson has been behind bars since he was charged in the murder of Kathleen Savio in May of 2009. His bond remains at $20 million dollars.

On another note, Peterson in the news should be a reminder to the citizens of Illinois, Stacy Peterson, mother is still missing. Next month will mark the fourth year anniversary when she was, in my opinion, erased from the earth.

Hunting season is also around the corner, so perhaps hunters can be reminded through the Illinois National Resources websites to be aware and keep their eyes open this hunting season.

And social sites can continue getting Stacy's information out to the public. From Facebook to Twitter  to web and community sites and faith based organizations.

Stacy Peterson was silenced, we are her only voice, let's get busy!

Following the Money Trail Leading to Murder!

Earlier in the week A& E Biography profiled former Bolingbrook Police Sergeant Drew Peterson whom is locked up in a Will County, Illinois jail awaiting trial the murder of Kathleen Savio.

Whatever hair the Peterson team lead legal marshmallow roaster does not have left on his head, I am sure the "source" that leaked the $15,000 his client received for payment made public in Michael Sneed's column was more than a shock. And my hats off to Michael Sneed for reporting on this fact. Especially, when he's oh so close to the reporter, was not given a head's up.  I am sure he is fuming as to who leaked the information and if he thinks for a moment, it's a short putt.

Apparently Peterson supplied photos and videos for the A& E program.  In exchange he received a $15,000 payday that will go towards paying "his" expert at trial.

Interesting and very sad at the same time, from behind bars he is still collecting dividends from, in my opinion, murder.

I had a thought about the money.  Since Stacy Peterson is still missing and he is still legally married to her doesn't half of that $15,000 belong to her?  What about all the money he gave his son?  Isn't that also a marital asset?  The house, isn't that still jointly in the name of Stacy Peterson?  How is he allowed to pay for a defense when half the money is hers?  Would the Will County States's Attorney's office be able to freeze assets by court order until such time it is determined where she is? Or pending the outcome of not one but, perhaps 2 trials?

Drew Peterson was paid for a show about himself when there is a young woman and mother of two still missing.  He has benefited in so many ways while we all know he was the very last person to see her alive.

Follow the money trail it all ends to the road of murder.

Main Stream Media Has A Problem?

Last week the Chicago Sun-Times ran ink, once again, on former Bolingbrook, IL, Sgt. Drew Peterson who is awaiting trial for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.  Michael Sneed writes a regular column for the paper and now it appears, in my opinion, that my less than favorite serial predator and offender of women, aside from being a dickless wonder, has his own special place in the columnist's heart under the heading of "Drew News."

Of course Michael Sneed doesn't name her so called "source" because that might be a conflict  interest to list a key figure in Peterson's representation over a few scotch and sodas just up the street from the Chicago Sun-Times headquarters.

In true Jerry Springer tabloid style, the reporter writes about Peterson's future as if it were important. It mentions how he is going to be acquitted, or so he believes, and that he's requesting his ashes to be turned into diamonds and, oh yes, he has prepared his last will and testament, which, by the way, is a hell of lot more than either Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson were able to do before they were allegedly killed.

Maybe Sneed can get her so called "source" to confidentially disclose where the remains of Stacy Peterson, Drew's fourth wife who vanished, are just so she has her facts straight. I am thinking maybe she had a memory lapse and forgot that Stacy Peterson  is still out there someplace and her children are, once again, spending Christmas without their mother.   I also suggest Sneed and the Chicago Sun-Times editors take a moment to read yesterday's post at Women and Crime Ink titled "Tell Everyone We Want to Bring Stacy Peterson Home For Christmas."

When mainstream media provides a forum to any individual who is awaiting a trial for the murder, or in this situation murder(s) of innocent lives, they are saying to the public, "This person is important for us to cover and we believe it is news".  I understand all person(s) are innocent until proven guilty by a court of law, but, in these cases of intimate partner homicide, especially when a woman is still missing, you have given her killer, in my opinion, more coverage than you have the case of Stacy Peterson and coverage on finding her.  You and the person currently residing in a prison cell, have basically said to the world, her children and family, hey F_ _ _ YOU!

Stacy Peterson: Life Interrupted

___________________________________________________________________________________

In the marriage of Drew and Stacy Peterson, she faced the same life threatening situation not only as a victim of abuse, but as the wife of a law enforcement officer, and she knew it. What she did not know was that Drew Peterson, in my opinion, would kill again. She believed Peterson loved her enough and because of her secret about Peterson, would not harm a hair on her head.

If was Drew Peterson was stupid enough to do anything to Stacy Peterson the truth about his former wife Kathy Savio would be her insurance policy for staying alive. That was her only mistake. The ace in her hand, if you will, that Stacy held, was not strong enough and what she knew for a fact about Kathleen Savio's murder would vanish with her on October 27, 2007. Like Stacy and Kathleen, documenting and capturing facts of the abuse that ultimately lead to both of these women being killed, would have been sustained them beyond the grave. The key for other women to remain alive is provided and spelled out step-by-step in the book “Time’s Up: A Guide on How to Leave and Survive Abusive and Stalking Relationships.” Offenders of intimate partner homicide, similar to Drew Peterson, would have been arrested by authorities, without as much as a blink because their words would be captured similar to a leaving will followed by a video, beyond the grave. Removing the so called “hearsay” conversations that most victims have with friends and family when the abuse or threats to their lives increases and they always tell someone before they vanish or are killed “if something happens to me, please know he did it.”

In the world of Drew Peterson, ever cocky and confident in his plan, he made certain that no one would figure he would have had anything to do with the disappearance of Stacy Peterson. After all, look at her family background. She grew up in a less than perfect home, as did many of us. She dreamed of a better life with the first person who showed her kindness and affection. That is appealing to anyone who was read fairy tale stories as a child, wishing their life, would begin, with a prince taking her away from everything that was unpleasant and evil.

As most victims of intimate partner violence, Stacy Peterson grew, over time, into a strong confident woman. When the abuse was no longer acceptable, she looked at her two young children, possibly thinking back on her own life and decided to make changes that did not include abuse, control and violence. She made plans to move forward, to not repeat the cycle of violence. For that, she is to be commended.

Although her remains have yet to be recovered, her life is important for other victims living in fear at this very moment. I would like to think that on angels wings Stacy Peterson brought me into her world in some way. The initial meeting after her death I would have with Pastor Neil Schori with whom she met in Naperville, IL and the partnership he, the church and I would form to stop the senseless killing of women involved in dangerous relationships across the county.

Now, 3 years have passed and no answers on where the remains of Stacy Peterson are buried. The answers, in my opinion, are in her actions while she was still alive, just as they were for Kathleen Savio, Roberta Murphy and others.

If each of these women were on a stage right now taking to you they would tell you “ when you do what you have always done, the outcome is the same. Look in the mirror at yourself, what do you see?”  What are you going to do about ending the abuse?  And although my mother, after 28 years had a taste of freedom out of the toxic and abusive environment, she would conclude her remarks to each of us and say "Time's Up." !

Drew Peterson: The Chicago Sun-Times "Blood on the Rocks"

Once again, without any regard for Kathleen Savio or Stacy Peterson’s family the Chicago Sun-Times has printed another letter from former Bolingbrook police Sergeant and Serial Psychopath Drew Peterson. No surprise, it was hand delivered likely over a scotch on the rocks with a splash of soda in the bar at the East Bank Club by Peterson’s head legal marshmallow roaster and chicken wing salesman.
The defense team is going to great lengths to paint Peterson as a loving caring father. The language used in this latest letter is authored by a coward whom used his powers as a law enforcement officer, in my opinion, to practice his criminal expertise on one wife, then perfected his craft on the other.

Peterson begins his opening script with :” It’s been almost three years since my wife Stacy went missing with the Illinois State Police and the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office launching probably the largest, most obsessive and expensive investigation in U.S. history.” Notice how he uses “my wife” in his sentence. What he is really saying to the world is “my property Stacy.” That is how in my opinion a classic intimate partner killer references their disposed of property. In Drew Peterson’s sick mind, Stacy was nothing more than someone he "controlled and owned" of which he, again in my expert opinion, removed from the family because she was too much of a liability. Yes, Stacy knew too much and when Peterson discovered she had met with Pastor Neil Schori in August of 2007, he panicked and began putting his plan of action into place. Peterson knew Stacy disclosed to the Pastor that Drew murdered Kathleen. Can someone at the newspaper explain how did Peterson know she met with the Pastor? Simple, Peterson was having her followed, otherwise why would he leave a message for the Pastor immediately after Stacy’s meeting? Was Stacy’s cell phone rigged by Drew to trace her every move? Was there a GPS tracking device on her vehicle?

If you do not remember or have not seen the interview, please take the time to watch the 6:22 minutes of questions and response’s Pastor Schori provided to Greta with Fox News. Maybe Michael Sneed and the editors can watch it too. Just click HERE.

In the next line of the letter Peterson says “the investigation has thus far turned up rumors, gossip, hearsay and outright lies.” Fact is that Kathleen Savio was murdered. And for a fact Stacy Peterson “my wife” is missing and he is the only suspect.

Peterson continues ranting by saying how his family has been threatened and harassed, well what about Kathleen and Stacy? These two women, in my opinion, were silenced to death!

In Peterson’s first letter published last month statement analysis expert and investigator Peter Hyatt takes us into the dynamics of former officer, perhaps the newspaper would consider publishing Hyatt’s analysis rather than more victim slapping from a psychopath.

One of the more disturbing lines to me in Peterson’s letter: “My little girl Lacy Ann just started Kindergarten with her daddy unable to be at her first day of school.” What about Stacy? Her little girl has been without her mommy for nearly 3 years. You do not read Peterson's words in reference to Lacy “say our child” or “Stacy’s and my little girl.” Peterson uses “my” just as he describes “my wife Stacy.”

Again, not once has Drew Peterson ever shown real emotion or concern for Stacy Peterson. Now he is using with assistance of the legal marshmallow roaster; his family as the "defense crutch strategy.”

The final blow was seeing the photo of 5 out of the 6 children submitted by a psychopath to steer the public away from the facts: Kathleen Savio the mother of 2 of the 5 children in the photo is dead. And Stacy Peterson, the mother of the two youngest, Lacy and Anthony was denied the opportunity to be there for either of her children’s first day of school, forever!

If you are outraged by the Chicago Sun Times and their disregard for the families of Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson by making headlines of Drew Peterson's jailhouse letters, do your part and let them know by calling, emailing or faxing. Nothing will change unless action is taken. The columnist, Micheal Sneed and her editor, should know that by making decisions based on headlines and readership instead of integrity and ethics is one of the reasons the public fuels people like Drew Peterson."

Part Two of Series: "Is This Where They Wanna Be?

The children of Peggy Dianovsky were outside playing as their parents fought inside the house. Bobby, age 7 heard his mother sreaming for help, he ran in from outside up the stairs his mother was on the landing Robert held Peggy down as he beat her. Immediately, Bobby ran down the basement stairs with his hands covering his face trying to forget the images he had just seen.

A short time later, Bobby's father called all the children over to him, while according to the sons, their father was washing off his bloody hands. Robert announced "we are going for a bike ride." The father and the kids left. When they walked back into the house Robert said "your mother is sleeping, don't disturb her." It was September of 1982, the last time the boys would ever see their mother, alive.

The response to Peggy Dianovsky's disappearance was not as publicized as it would be for Stacy Peterson, 25 years later in 2007. And had Kathleen Savio's death been correctly investigated and ruled a homicide, there would likely be no need to keep this young woman's case in the public eye in hopes she can be brought home to her loved ones.

The Sunday morning Stacy was still in her home, so were the kids. Stacy Peterson's two biological children were too young to comprehend anything that happened. But, Kathleen Savio's boys, one or both of them likely heard something. Stacy was alive on October 27th when she tucked her children in bed the night before and Drew was still working his shift. And he returned home the morning of the 28th.

According to a Time line on the site a Candyrose.com:

Timeline of Sunday according to Bruce (Stacy's sister's boyfriend). - "Sunday morning [10/28/2007] around 10 AM, he [Bruce Zidarich] shared back and forth text messages with Stacy.

She then called him at 10:15 a.m.

She said that she had been just lounging in bed for a couple of hours, and that she AND HER KIDS were going to go to the house to paint today.

Bruce was supposed to wait to hear from Stacy's sister Cassandra, and then call Stacey after Cassandra got in touch with them.

Then they were all to meet over there to paint. However, Cassandra had decided to go to her mother's house that day, and didn't call Bruce.

At 4PM Bruce sent Stacy a text message saying "Lets paint tomorrow". He received no reply. Greta asked him when he began to worry about Stacy. Bruce said that Cassandra called him around 7 PM and said she had not been able to reach Stacy all day. He relayed that he had not heard from her since 10 or so that morning, and that he didn't get a reply to the 4 PM text message he had sent her."

2007-10-28 findstacypeterson.com 10:09 AM ILL [findstacypeterson.com Timeline]: "Stacy calls Bruce [Zidarich], says she is laying in bed. (call lasts until 10:28)."

2007-10-28 chicagosuburbannews 10:00 AM ILL "Stacy’s sister, Cassandra Cales, said the last telephone contact she had with her sister was at about 10 a.m. Sunday. After that, all attempts to reach Stacy by cell phone were unsuccessful."

Was the morning routine of this family shaken by an argument? The kids were definately up that morning. Did anyone hear screams or loud sounding thumps as if someone was thrown down on a carpeted bedroom floor? When Drew came out of the bedroom what did he say to his two children Kristopher and Thomas? Did Peterson tell them Stacy was sleeping and to be quiet? Did he say Stacy has gone out for the day and he was calling Sharon the next door neighbor and they were going over there for a while because he had stuff to do? The boys would likely never question their father. Did the boys think it strange that they were not going to leave with Stacy to paint her brothers house as planned? Regardless, Drew Peterson a heavy handed and likely feared ruler of his domain would be able to have his own children second guess what they might have seen or heard because Drew Peterson in my opinion is a master manipulator. And all children from these types of environment instinctively understand "little children are to be see and not heard," or else they will pay the price.

Twenty-five years between each set of children each torn by fear, truth and loyalty , father's whom likely silenced both women for ending the relationship. The Dianovsky boys now adults, have already paid a high price well into their adult years. They literally are the keeper of destructive secrets, similar to a permanent tatoo that remains within them each day they are alive. The same could hold true for the Peterson boys. Could one the Kathleen's children suddenly remember, perhaps with the guidence of a therapist, what happened on October 28, 2007, 10, 20 or 30 years later? It is a strong possibility.

Drew Peterson's trial date has been postponed while the State is awaiting answers on appeal's for certain testimony to be allowed at trial. Can the State's Attorney place Drew Peterson at the crime scene of Kathleen Savio? Is the case based on circumstantial evidence? Is what the State has enough for a conviction?
Part 3: This is Where They Wanna Be?" continues with Robert Dianovsky's 2004, trial and Drew Peterson's impending trial.

Be sure to return for the next installment of this Special Series Saturday, August 28, 2010"Is it Where They Wanna Be?

Stacy Peterson "Bring Her Home"

Get out your vomit buckets! The story's headline on August 16th, from part 2 in the Chicago Sun-Times series in bold black ink reads " Drew Peterson-Not easy Being A National Pastime."
According to Wikidepia "a national sport or national pastime is a sport or game that is considered to be an intrinsic part of the culture of a nation. "

The killing of ones' own wife, girlfriend or significant other, also known as intimate partner homicide, has in fact become a carefully strategized "national game" among those who deliberately take their wives and girlfriends out of their lives. So, what Peterson is really saying, with a bull horn behind iron bars, in his carefully crafted blood soaked hand, "ladies and gentlemen, this is just a game." If we look at those who murder their intimate partners, each one of the offenders lost the game when charged and convicted of the crime. But, Peterson is betting otherwise, as evidence since day one going back to March 1, 2004, when Kathleen was murdered.

Even behind bars, with his game face on, Peterson is betting the prosecutors in Will County, Illinois, do not have enough for a conviction. Sadly, he just be might right.

The Chicago Sun-Times has provided a playing field, or a national stadium, for, in my expert opinion, a "skilled mommy murderer".

In a stadium all games begin with the crowd standing, singing the national Anthem. Peterson's song is, "I killed my third wife isn't that nice, watch as I get away with it twice." In Peterson's case no one heard anyone singing during the world series playoff's in 2004 because deals were made behind closed doors as to who would win the championship, when the then prosecutor, Tomczak, forfeited the game, ignoring facts and pleas's for assistance from Kathlen Savio by handing Peterson his victory with bases loaded. The final game victory pitch, a walk ending the national series, with a 1 to nothing score. Peterson 1 the state of Illinois 0.

In October of 2007, Peterson enters the stadium once again, "ha, he says, been there done this before, easy hit for another home run." With a frenzy, the national media camps outside the home of Stacy Peterson, reporting blow by blow game plays and appearances, including Peterson's own words, joking and laughing in classic killer, abuser style. Watching him often reminded me of my own father, who laughed almost idential in pitch and tone as Peterson, as they believed being in law enforcement meant you were smarter than everyone else.

I wonder how the Chicago Sun-Times and it's editors feel about being played? Because, in fact, they have been. They should now understand how easy it is for victims of violence to be under the spell of a manipulative abuser. This time the paper has gone too far, enabling Peterson to continue to present and defend himself while his victims, the mother(s) of his children, have been silenced. Never once have they done an in depth investigation and reported on the cases of Kathleen Savio or Stacy Peterson. It is a fact that none of us, with the expection of the surving family members, ever remember the names of any of the victims from high profile cases like Ted Bundy, Richard Speck, Christopher Vaughn or John Wayne Gacey.

There was a time when reporters looked and weighed all sides to a case before printing a story. I recall over the years being upset with the media when they would agree to print something about a victim of violence and then say something to me like, "we are also going to interview the abuser or the killer for the story." If they could not interview the abuser they would seek out a quote from a neighbor, friend or co-worker. It was always the same song, "he was such a good dad" or, "he was always the go to guy in the neighborhood" and I think to myself, after reading it, aren't they all? I guess the best example, from personal experience, is trying to enlist the assistance of others for help while my mother was still alive, she had no place to go. When I discovered her body, at her own crime scene, I was placed in a position, defending my mother to my father's fellow officer's when they said point blank, "She drove him to it." Those words would be the fuel that would ignite and flame a 20- plus year fire for intimate partner homicide.

The only front page story the Chicago Sun-Times and every other television and print media should be reporting and writing on is the unsolved murders of these two women. Give these cases as much ink as Peterson and just maybe, you say to their families and others of violent crimes, that intimate violence behind closed doors in the home is a serious criminal matter.

To the editors and reporters of the Chicago Sun-Times, you have your facts turned inside out like a stained pair of boxer shorts. Stacy Peterson did not simply vanish. She was removed from her home, in my opinion, taken out of the game called life. A common theme among criminal offenders. Stacy Peterson is missing and yet you print his words as though they are important, leaving others to believe that Stacy Peterson's life is similar to a foul ball in a game, it simply does not count. Two days in a row you have slapped justice in the face for these 2 women. The only headline you should write, going forward, is "BRING HER HOME." You still have an opportunity to investigate, even though you are in the 8th inning of this world series game, and properly report on Stacy Peterson until she is found and given a proper resting place by friends and family.

Intimate Partner Homicide Investigation Debut show: guests for the entire hour are:

Steph Watts television producer of the new show “Bloodwork”which examines how forensic science is used to solve crimes airing in the fall on the A& E Channel.

Steph Watts subpoenaed by the defense to testify during the private autopsy performed on Kathleen Savio's exhumed corpse. Watts investigative work with Mark Fuhrman for OTR at FOX News on the disappearance of Stacy Peterson was seminal. She was the fourth wife of Bolingbrook Police Officer Drew Peterson, and prime suspect in her disappearance. This work led to the reclassification of the death of Peterson’s third wife Kathleen Savio, from an accident to a homicide.

Joe Hosey attended Kathleen Savio's inquest in 2004 and has reported on the case from the begining. As a reporter with the Daily Herald and the Author of "Fatal Vows The Tragic Wives of Sgt. Drew Peterson" he has continued to keep this case and the disappearance of Stacy Peterson on the front pages.

Sheryl McCollum, Director of Cold Case Investigative Research Institute and Susan Murphy-Milano, Violence Expert and Author of the new book "Time's Up" have joined forces to bring new eyes to cases of intimate partner homicide. “DNA equals DOA (dead on arrival) with respect to intimate partner homicide crimes.” There is no voice or face, instead victim’s lives result in filling headstones and cemeteries; placed in the “unimportant” category box. Intimate Partner Homicide Investigation gives these cases a front and center seat instead of a back door crime occurring behind closed doors.

McCollum and Murphy-Milano are working proactively to reduce the number of deaths through several channels, saving not only lives, but taxpayer dollars, and utilizing unique procedures gleaned from their years of working on high risk and high profile cases. Combining their experience will help bring new possibilities and new clues to law enforcement agencies and prosecutors across the country.
