Heather Malloy :Sloppy Investigative Tools: " The Vanishing"

On April 11, 2008, we featured Heather Malloy on this blog, including the fact she was granted a Court Order of Protection.

Her husband Brian, indicated she vanished. Why is it that eleven weeks later, Portland Police are just now, investigating this case and searching the marital home for clues?

Police Departments of late have shown the inability to look first at the obvious. Especially, when these women are married or involved with someone and suddenly, "Vanish". The first order of business by all Law Enforcement Agencies across the Country is to check their data bases to see if there was ever an order of protection issued. Or if the couple is going through a divorce.

More importantly, we are seeing a trend in the vanishing and missing cases, they are not properly investigated within a time frame likely to produce an arrest in their cases. Or because "too much" time has passed important evidence has vanished with its' victims.

Proper training and good old fashioned detective work must be mandatory. Anyone interested in solving these types of cases can contact me at contact@movingoutmovingon.com and I will be more than happy to consult and provide effective resources and training for these of specialized cases.

Police have never take these kinds of missing cases seriously. I pray for the family that this case has closure.

Brian called police when Heather did not come home. He actively lioked foe Heather since the first day. And he is a fantastic father.
What was to investigate? Loving his family? He sounded like he was telling the truth, very sincere?

This is a classic example of police not investigating properly at the begining. Maybe it has something to do with how these reports are filed in the first place. maybe they need to be reported under another category?

This type of case is becoming way too common in this country. Women who vanish with no explanation are, in most cases, thought to be gone by choice. Most police departments dismiss the idea of looking first as a missing person.

This happens all too frequently and police departments need to either put new procedures into place, or enforce the ones that are there.

Susan, count me in if you need me!

If this husband is sooo concerned why did he take off with the baby to Idaho? Why isn't he helping find her? Cause he knows what happened? Sick ba$tard.

I can't understand how come the guy is in another state? If she had a court order against the husband were they still living in the same place together? And when she went missing he asked like the loving caring concerned husband. Whats wrong with these guys that do this? Why cant they just leave?
