Lisa Stebic:

This Sunday, on April 27, 2008, an event is planned in downtown Plainfield, Illinois to honor Lisa Stebic's memory and raise money for a local charity.

Lisa’s Walk for Guardian Angel Community Services will be held at 1 p.m. at the Village Green park, located at Chicago and DesPlaines streets in Plainfield. Walk-up registration will begin at noon.

Registration is $20 for an individual, $35 for a family.
The event is sponsored by the Plainfield Exchange Club and Lisa’s family. Proceeds from the event will benefit Guardian Angel Community Services in Joliet.

More than 200 people have already signed up for Lisa’s Walk, either as participants or volunteers, said family spokeswoman Melanie Greenberg.
The two-mile walk will follow a route from the park to the Plainfield Central High School parking lot and back.

Before the walk several speakers will address the group, including Rob Epley, Plainfield Exchange Club President, Plainfield Mayor Jim Waldorf, Greenberg and Lisa’s parents, Judy and Lawrence Ruttenberg. A dove release also is planned.

A benefit concert by Joe Cantafio will be held after the walk, about 2:30 p.m., at Front Street Cantina, 15120 N. DesPlaines St.

"It’s been an extremely difficult and painful year, and we want to remember Lisa by doing something positive and to give back to the community that has done so much for us and our family," Greenberg said.

Meanwhile, in court today was Stebic's Lawyer. The Judge denied the return of weapons, a truck, a blanket and other items. What I did not understand is the comment by the lawyer pertaining to a blanket sent to the crime lab. Why would anyone focus on a blanket?

Lisa has been missing since April 30, 2007. She too, vanished off the face of the earth. And as Gomer Pyle would say Surprise, Surprise, Golly Gee "am I the only suspect? Yes , Mr. Stebic, you are indeed, the prime suspect in the vanishing of your wife Lisa. Very nice event for the family to do in their daughter's memory. Hard to believe a year has gone by.
