Stacy Peterson: Searching Till She is Found

Stacy Ann Peterson vanished on October 28, 2007, from the house in the Illinois suburb of Bolingbrook that she shared with her police-officer husband Drew Peterson, her two children and his two sons, whom she'd adopted.

Within 48 hours, camera crews and journalists besieged the once quiet suburban cul-de-sac. Peterson, then a police sergeant, gave them a show -- a bizarre public display including personal attacks on his wife and her family in the wake of her disappearance. The national media covered Peterson's act like a low-life reality TV show. Each day as Peterson left his house, journalists shoved microphones in his face, hungry for a sound bite for evening crime or news broadcasts. If you were a resident of Illinois during the first three weeks after Stacy vanished, you saw Peterson served up on local, cable and radio programs like a charred chicken flapping its wings almost around the clock.

After several months of being stalked and living under her husband's tight, controlling reins, Stacy Peterson told her husband the marriage was over. In October 2007, Stacy met and consulted with divorce attorney Harry Smith -- ironically, the same lawyerKathleen Savio hired to represent her when she decided to divorce Peterson.

When Stacy failed to show up at her brother's house that late-October day, family members were concerned, especially her sister Cassandra Cales. Just two days earlier, after a cozy family night of movie and pizza, Stacy warned Cassandra that she planned to leave Peterson and said: "If something happens to me, I just want you to know it was Drew." When Cassandra couldn't reach her missing sister, she went to Stacy's house and found the four children home alone, with no sign of Peterson's car. At theBolingbrook Police Department, Cassandra filed a missing-person report.

To me, it seemed Peterson treated Stacy's life as something inconsequential. In his attempts to discredit her during media interviews and up until he was arrested on murder charges for Kathleen Savio, Peterson made comments such as "You know she came from a broken home," or, "Her mother went missing too, so this is not a surprise." Then I heard Peterson say, "Stacy is where she wants to be." My heart sank as I thought of the boys who'd now lost a mother twice.

Seventeen days after Cassandra reported Stacy's disappearance, the Will County State Attorney's Office obtained a court order and exhumed the body of Kathleen Savio. Savio, Peterson's previous wife, was discovered dead in a bathtub in the marital house in 2004. Suddenly, the media and police focus swung from Stacy's disappearance to a new autopsy into the cause of Kathleen's death. The effort to find Stacy lost its momentum. The ground began to freeze, making the search more difficult for family and teams of volunteers. And the media remained hooked on Drew's public displays and his love life, leaving no time to find answers or enlist the public's help in finding Stacy.

In the months that followed, I met with people who knew Stacy personally. From the moment she married Drew, Stacy worked to knit a loving family environment, integrating Drew's then-estranged family into the couple's new life. From all accounts, she had a kind, warm and giving heart. People's eyes sparkled when they spoke of her. She made friends and family feel welcome. When a guest didn't show up for a gathering, Stacy called urged, "Come on," one relative recalled. "We're holding dinner, where are you? We're not starting until you get here."

Another told me: "Stacy was the glue, and that's why her disappearance is so painful to those of us who knew her."

Stacy Peterson's dream was to be a loving wife and mother, an all-around nurturer. She enrolled in nursing classes at a local college. When Stacy could no longer live under Peterson's heavy-handed control and constant watch, she made plans to leave. But like many women in her position, she made a mistake. She told her husband what she planned before she was able to move to a place where she'd be safe from him.

Stacy was silenced in the prime of her life. But there can be no silencing of family and friends who will continue to search for her until she is found.

Special Series Part 3 "Is It Where They Wanna Be?"

Robert Dianovsky maintained that his wife Peggy left their home voluntarily and took a bag of clothing with her when she vanished in September of 1982. Peggy Dianovsky left her yellow Chevrolet Nova behind, and never picked up her last paycheck from her employer, Dominick's. Blood was found spattered at the top of the stairway in the Dianovsky home, but none of it was ever collected for analysis.

Robert took the boys and moved to Arizona sometime after 1982, he also filed for divorce claiming Peggy abondoned he and the children. He was charged with Peggy's murder in 2003. Their three sons went to the police in 2002 after tape-recording a conversation with Robert where he made suspicious statement about Peggy's disappearance. One of the Dianovsky children claims he witnessed his mother's murder, and all three of them say they saw Robert abuse and threaten Peggy. They claim they repressed the memories of the incidents but recovered them in therapy sessions as adults. One of Robert's friends also testified that Robert asked him for a gun in 1982 to "get rid of" Peggy. And Robert claimed his wife was having an affair.

In all, six hours of audio were taped when Dianovsky's three sons confronted him and accused him of their mother's murder. The sons contend their father killed Peggy Dianovsky on Sept. 12, 1982, in their Schaumburg, Ill., home during a brutal beating.

On the tapes, the accused man says, "I hit her pretty good." He also admits to previously saying his wife would never get out of the marriage alive. Dianovsky also said that he cut off his wife's tennis clothes in a jealous rage, and that his grown sons can tell their kids, "Your dad did something to her."

The trial took place in Cook County, Illinois before a judge rather than a jury. Judge Robert Porter acquitted Robert after an eight-day trial in November 2004. He stated that Peggy probably had in fact been murdered after her disappearance, but there was insufficient evidence to prove that Robert did it.

The relevance of the Robert Dianovsky case, in my opinion is important in the upcoming Drew Peterson trial as it pertains to evidence, also the State's burden to prove that Peterson murdered Kathleen Savio.

Drew Peterson is awaiting trial for the murder of Kathleen Savio, his third wife. The State in this case is working on the admittance of "hearsay testimony." Below is my explaination of hearsay as it would apply to the Peterson case.

Hearsay is an out of court statement "offered for the truth of the matter asserted" and not subject to cross-examination, typically because the declarant or speaker is unavailable. This applies to Stacy Peterson because she is not "available." Such statements are deemed unreliable because of the obvious fact that they can easily be fabricated and can not be tested through cross exaimination.

One basic way to get around hearsay is to seek admission, not for the truth of the statement itself, but for another highly relevant purpose. For example, let's say I am charged with intentionally shooting my daughter's boyfriend (which is not beyond realm of reason) while the two of them are harmlessly playing tie-up. Prior to bursting in the room and firing, I was told by her ex-boyfriend that the new guy was in the process of raping her. My defense is not intentional murder, but rather manslaughter because I believed the ex who has fled to Costa Rica and is unavailable at trial. Here I would offer his statement of rape, not because it was true, but because of the effect it had on my mental state, a very relevant fact in the case. Again, I am not offering it for its truth and therefore, whether it was fabricated is not in issue. Whether the statement was made and whether my response was reasonable (based upon my credibility) can all be determined by the trier of fact at trial because I, not the ex would be subject to cross.

In any event, statements can be admissible solely for their impact upon the listener (if relevant in a case) and not for the truth of the statement.

This approach should be very relevant to the statement Anna Domain (Kathleen Savio's sister) could testify to -"that Kathleen asked her to care for her kids."This is dynamite. Not offering it for the truth that Peterson said he wanted to kill her, but for the independent impact it had on her and her mental state to seek care for her children. Anna Domain could testify to her observations regarding Kathleen's credible belief that she needed to secure care for her kids because she was going to die soon. This really should have tremendous impact on the State's case assuming Anna Domain is well prepared on the stand. And fear is hearsay with no subsequent act reflecting impact on her mental state.

Now for the exceptions, which have literally swallowed up the general rule. Since the beginning of time, Courts have recognized certain fact patterns that contain such inherent elements of reliability so as to overcome the need for cross. All of this is based upon a notion of getting all relevant information to the jury subject to a prejudice to the defendant analysis -for the State this stuff is worth fighting over, it usually means "game over" for the defendant. Certain fact patterns below have crystallized into exceptions.

Dying Declaration- declarant unavailable says just before dying to witness "Mr. X shot me." Aadmissible based upon the notion that people who are dying do not typically have a motive to lie.Witness will testify as to demeanor of declarant.

Excited Utterrance-declarant screams "the plane is going to crash into the house" and witness doesn't see the plane. Here admission based on fact that when people are experiencing a startling event under stress they don't have time to fabricate.

Present sense Impression - same as above, except witness also experience the same event as the declarant and the declarant's statement is relevant.

The one used the most by prosecutor's and the one that is highly relevant for Peterson purposes is a "Statement Against Interest." For example if I told you that I did "dope and shit"the statment would be admissable based on the theory that people do not make up highly negative evidence against themselves, especially facts that would subject them to criminal prosecution.

This is highly relevant for Stacy's statements to Pastor Neil Schori and Mike Rossetto that she provided an alibi because it shows that she was willing to obstruct justice at Peterson's direction regarding Kathleen. Now maybe during the admissibility hearing the witnesses were weak on the statement or just did not have enough specifics and/or detail re:the circumstances of the meeting with Stacy to overcome the highly prejudicial impact of the statement.

The State's case has more twists and turns than a tornado. Will Drew Peterson be acquitted? Is the State's case strong enough? No one really knows what the outcome will be. What we do know is what Peterson said in interviews when Stacy vanished. And what Robert Dianovsky said 25 years earlier "it 's where she wants to be."

"Dead Eyes Tell the Story"

Remember the saying 'the devil made me do it?" It applies well to criminals of intimate partner violence and homicide as the evil side of an abuser releases an invisible stench. We as family, community and co-workers can not see the pure evil associated with an abuser because they are so clever at hiding it from everyone, with the exception of those they prey upon. Innocent women and their children are the abuser's easy targets.

Why? The abuser works behind the scenes where they are unable to be detected by anyone but those in their home, and with whom they are, or were, in an intimate relationship.

Earlier this week Shon Pernice was indicted for the murder of his wife Renee Pernice, 35, last seen on New Years day in 2009, another victim who vanished without a trace, no different than Stacy Peterson, Susan Powell, Lisa Stebic, Venus Stewart and many others who were mothers living in fear and would have never left without taking their children. And, yet, all 5 of the vanishing women's estranged husbands had come down with "abuser brain freeze." When your wife vanishes the brain locks up and the only response to why their wife and mother of the children is suddenly gone is, "I don't know but, we just want her to come home." In each case, if you review media interviews or read their direct quotes, they speak in the "catch me if you can." lingo.

Notice how their abuser body language is the same, how the corners of their mouths slightly turned up trying not to smile, their shoulders are slightly curved as they look into the camera. The eyes tell no lies.  Each man has "dead eyes," dialated and widened a bit more than usual, trying to look concerened for the cameras as they attempt to spin pure hatred to words of compassion.

The terror each woman suffered was literally at the hands of an evil monster, a.k.a their loving husbands.

Turning into the devil, these abusers with predator like characteristics, in my opinion, thought for months as to how they would get away with murder. I remember finding hand written journals my father had written prior to murdering my mother. On several legal pads, in his chicken scratch, was page upon page of dates and times where he was tracking her every move. Then my father layed out his plan of action.

An abuser, in my expert opinion, does not allow their victim to go quietly from their life without some type of pain and suffereing. I'll use my mothers case as an example because I believe it applies to the majority of victims killed by their partners.

My father lured my mother to my childhood home making her believe she had to sign a legal document. Once she entered the home he pulled a gun out, got her in a head lock, dragged her up the four steps to the kitchen and told her how she was going to die. He taunted her with his angry words. I can hear him say"Roberta, your going to die, your a bitch, I gave you everything, Its time to pay for leaving me" . Forget that this veteran law enforcement officer was the king of his domain or that he was loved by everyone who knew him.

My mothers eyes were no doubt filled with the worst human terror a person suffers hours, minutes or seconds before their life is taken. Still in a headlock for what must have seemed like hours, and more likely only several minutes, according to neighbors accounts and a time line of events I had created, without a doubt my mother pleaded for her life. But, in true to form abuser behavior, my father wanted his face to be the last my mother saw when he pulled the trigger. And then he took his own life.

For Venus Stewart, who vanished while walking out to her mailbox on April 26, 2010, I think more than one person may have been involved. Her husband, in my opinion. likely enlisted the help of someone. She was caught by surprise. Once secured for transport and still alive, one person had her legs and feet the other her held the upper body and she was thrown into the car, driven to a different location where the abuser made certain his face was also the last his victim saw before she was killed.

When Renee Pernice vanished mysteriously, as her husband Shon would have the world believe, he, in my opinion, made certain the children were out of the home. In my opinion, his experience as a trained fire fighter came in handy when he, too, likely made ceratin Renee knew she was about to be killed. Pernice was angry. Renee was ending the marriage and he wanted her to pay. In "real time violent partner homicide" the abuser is easily excited, sickly arroused, as they speak to their victim and tell them they are about to die. Abusers get off on the power of final control over this persons life knowing their face, too, is the last she will ever see as they take a final breathe.


The bodies of all five women have yet to be found. In three out of the five cases I do believe they will never be recovered, and pray I am wrong.

When a woman makes the painful decision to exit a violent marriage and does not have the opportunity to plan a course of action the outcome can be devastating. "Suddenly"

This holiday season while we are enjoying our precious time with friends and family, and counting our blessings, there is one home where Mom won't be fixing Christmas dinner or tucking her children in as she reads to them the story "twas night before christmas" to her precious angels.



That woman was Lisa Stebic.

Lisa as many women who have "suddenly gone missing" was getting a divorce when she vanished. Craig Stebic,has yet to be charged in her disappearance, he was the last person to report seeing his wife April 30, 2007.

The missing woman worked her normal shift in a nearby elementary school cafeteria and was home when her children arrived from school. Craig Stebic has said he saw his wife leave the house carrying only her cell phone and purse. He reported her missing the next morning. Doesn't this have a familar tone? She left with her cell phone and purse?

Lisa Stebic would never have left without taking her children.

A mother, sister, aunt, neighbor, friend who belonged to a family that loves her. I am asking everyone to keep her in your prayers this holiday in hopes that she is found.

Behind Bars the Drama Of Drew Peterson Continues...

In January 2010 a Will County judge has scheduled a mini-trial pertaining to the murder of Kathleen Savio the third wife of Drew Peterson.

Illinois "Hearsay Law" will apparently be tested at the mini-trial allowing those with whom Stacy Peterson allegedly spoke with about how Kathleen was killed before she mysteriously vanished back in October of 2007. According to the tribune "Before hearsay comments can be admitted, Will County Judge Steven White will rule on whether the preponderance of evidence shows that Peterson killed ex-wife Kathleen Savio in 2004 and whether the hearsay statements are reliable."

It should be interesting as Will County prosecutors present facts during the trial while Peterson's defense team of chicken, hot sauce and thighs mixes an enlightening concoction of documents in an attempt to exclude hearsay testimony when the murder trail for Kathleen Savio begins. Peterson, has claimed since the begining that Stacy Peterson decided to ran away with some mystery man who no doubt lives in a third world country.

And now direct from Drew Peterson's "prison entertainment incorporated" his defense team is attempting to claim the recent case of Jaycee Duggard, the girl who was kept as a sex slave by the Garrido couple "supports that claim" according to Peterson's defense attorney after last week's court hearing. So now Peterson's team is claiming what exactly? In my opinion that is just plain sick! Using a child's case whom was kidnapped, raped and held captive for years in the same sentence with Peterson is about as low as one can go!

"New Poster Boy"

Below is a post on the Stacy Peterson case that ran on November 14, 2007. This week marks the 2 year anniversary since she went missing.

The Peterson case(s) have two alledged victims, now has made Peterson, who moments ago resigned from the Bolingbrook Police Department the "National Poster Boy" for narcissitic passive aggressive behavior.

For years that title was held solely by Charles Stewart, the Boston man who murdered his lawyer wife on October 23, 1989 and accused someone else of the crime. Ultimately, he took his own life. But if you recall Stewart behaved in the same way as Peterson, in every interview, cold and without any emotion. The Cowardly Former Officer Drew Peterson now holds the title. And proudly, I might add.

In my opinion, it was clear from the NBC interview with Matt Lauer that Drew Peterson lives in a black and white world of his own. Obviously he hasn't been able to find a lawyer willing to take the case without some major up front cash retainer. So he decided to ask for one on national television like he was asking for a cancer specialist to treat his disease.

I highly doubt a bank would lend the bozo ten cents against his home. According to Will County Clerks Office, Peterson bought his home on 12/29/2003, for $227,000 with no money down and refinanced in 2005. And on 12/23/2003 he recorded the sale of the home with Stacy A. Peterson. And I do not believe he is able to borrow, legally against his children(s) trust funds. He may be able to get his hands on his pension or borrow against it that is probably an option at this point and the reason he may have resigned.

New Meaning For Cop "Till Death Do Us Part"

Stacy Ann Peterson has been missing since October 28, 2007. This week marks her tragic disappearance. Friends and Family need the public's help as they continue to search for Stacy.

On the blog this week we will feature some past posts written on the case. The first is a post from October 29, 2007. It is also prior to Peterson lawyering up with my favorite "legal marshmallow roaster, from the law firm also known for their chicken wings and thighs defense. Or is it hot dogs and hamburgers?

Back in 2004, officer Petersons wife was found dead in a bath tub and for some reason the coroner ruled that death as accidential. And from the reports at the time there was not enough evidence to prove otherwise. And now, there is yet another wife missing .

Apparently, not a peep from our cowardly man, her officer husband on where his wife could be.
"Because he's one of our officers, we thought it would be better to have an independent agency investigating," Mayor Roger Claar said of the state's involvement in the disappearance of Stacy Peterson.

In my opinion, do I believe he is capable of harming Stacy? Absolutely!

It was not clear how long Peterson, the wife of Sgt. Drew Peterson, has been missing. State Trooper Mark Dorencz at first declined to comment on the matter but later said the state is handling the case as a missing persons investigation.

The Bolingbrook department said Peterson was not scheduled to work Monday. A message left for him at the department went unreturned.

Peterson's previous wife, 40-year-old Kathleen Savio, was found dead in the dry bathtub of her Pheasant Chase home in March 2004. Peterson and Savio were divorced and he was returning their two sons to their home after a weekend visit, but no one answered the locked door.
Peterson went to a neighbor's to call a locksmith. Once entry was gained, the neighbor went inside and found Savio's body in a waterless bathtub.

The investigation revealed Savio drowned. Her fingertips showed pruning from being submerged in water and her hair was wet when she was found. While there was no water in the bathtub, it may have drained out over time, as the plug was down, investigators speculated.
A coroner's jury ruled the death accidental. State police investigated that case as well. No charges were filed.

According to one official, Savio was Peterson's third wife, and Stacey Peterson is his fourth.
Charges, reinstatementMore than 20 years ago, Peterson was fired from the police department after the village board of police and fire commissioners found him guilty of disobedience, conducting a self-assigned investigation, failure to report a bribe immediately and official misconduct. He had been indicted two months earlier on charges of official misconduct and failure to report a bribe. Peterson was working under the auspices of the Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad at the time. Indictments alleged he solicited drugs in exchange for information about his agency.

The charges later were dropped. Special prosecutor Raymond Bolden said at the time that the charges were not provable.

Peterson won reinstatement with the department in March 1986. Judge Edwin Grabiec ruled police and fire commissioners lacked sufficient evidence to find Peterson guilty of the charges.

One of my favorite shows as a kid was lost in space. I always believed that the Robot in the show was more like a character created to be used as a type of human safety intuition created out of metal. It was a fantastic way to show intuition.

Every week the robot would light up and yell "danger, danger approaching." Sometimes the other members in cast would attempt to dismiss the robot, but never young Will Robinson he would always follow the warnings signs ultimately saving his family from unknown dangers.

Drew Peterson is Arrested For Murder

The break in the murder of Kathleen Savio in 2004 arrived today at 5:45PM when Illinois

State police arrested Drew Peterson a short distance from his home.

Bond has been set in this case at $20 Million Dollars.

The 2004 case was re-opened with fresh new eyes. The world watched as Kathleens body was exhumed and another autopsy was ordered. Investigators and The Will County State's Attorney have worked around the clock for 18 months investigating the case.

This case also could not have materialized without the persistance and cooperation of the Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson family. Along with neighbors like Sharon Bychowski who not only lived next door to Stacy Peterson, but, contributed important information during the investigation.

Kathleen’s Savio Interruption of Justice Continues as Will County Drops the Legal Ball

In March of 2008, I authored a post pertaining to an important legal strategy available to the Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow. The statue of limitations to bring federal charges against Drew Peterson expired, today.

Glasgow’s office held the key to a strong case against Drew Peterson. In using the United States mail to send insurance documents for payment on Kathleen’s bogus will, Peterson knowingly committed fraud. And he had clear motive. The 1981; case I cited had many similarities to Drew Peterson’s case. Ironically, Thomas York a Chicago police officer received 40 years in a federal prison.

Last week on Justice Interrupted Radio, Reporter Joseph Hosey and author of the book Fatal Vows, indicated, if the State’s Attorney’s office fails to charge Drew Peterson in the murder of Kathleen Savio in the next several weeks, Peterson walks.

Bringing federal; charges against Drew Peterson, in my opinion, was a slam dunk.
The Will County State’s Attorney’s office failed Kathleen Savio not once but 4 times.

First: When Kathleen she died in a dry bath tub because investigators forgot crime scene 101 procedures. Blood is thicker than water. It was impossible for the blood in that bathtub to have drained without the trained locksmith and police officer, Drew Peterson.

Second: Kathleen’s cries for help were denied by the very people sworn to serve and protect. Her case file hidden, on top of a filing cabinet. Found only after Stacy Peterson, vanished and Sue Domain, Kathleen Savio’s sister had copies of letters and court documents proving Kathleen fought to be heard.

Third: the Will County State’s Attorney’s office lost the keys when they failed to enlist the assistance of the US Attorney’s office in this case. Properly, charging Peterson with a federal crime.

Fourth: The ignorant injustice cost two women their lives.

Husband Pretends Wife is Alive

Becky Brosnan , 32 and mother of two children was found beaten to death last week.

Sadly, her estranged husband took her life. The couple was going through a divorce.

I cannot stress enough, to anyone going through a divorce, the importance of safety. Women are being slaughtered by their husbands all on the name of power and control. Often they let their guard down by agreeing to meet their estranged husbands alone to "talk things out."

And in many situations the woman talks about divorce prior to securing a proper strategy. A strategy includes not only custody, assets, legal representation, but safety.

Before you mention the word divorce in your home, especially if your partner is controlling or abusive:
You must have a safety plan.
You must notify someone each time you walk out the door.
Send out an email alert telling folks where you are going and with whom.
Take your cell phone and have it programed to 911 when in the presence of this person.
If possible have an additional back-up cell phone that you keep charged in case of emergencies.
If the situation gets heated have the phone programed to 911 and just press the button.
Keep your keys in your pocket. If you have an automatic door lock on your key ring, sound the alarm button on the device.
Never meet the person with whom you are ending your relationship with alone.

After he killed her, Uriah Brosnan dumped her boby near his workplace. He covered up his crime by posting on line and texting friends and relatives prentending to Becky. In an attempt to cover up the crime and buy himself time.

He sent electronic messages from Becky Brosnan’s personal accounts, including e-mail and MySpace.com, after he killed her during a fight in his office at a roofing business.

One of the posts he wrote said “I need to find me. I can’t trust anyone right now. Getting away for some me time.”

The husband is in Spokane County Jail charged with first-degree murder. Brosnan’s bail is set at $1 million.

According the NewsTribune :”The Brosnans, married in 1997, were going through a divorce. Their children – a 10-year-old boy and 5-year-old girl – were a point of contention, family members and police say.“The more she fought for her children, the harder it was,” Becky Brosnan went to meet her husband to discuss the children on Jan. 28. Uriah Brosnan told police that he picked up a hammer and hit her in the head. When she continued to fight, he picked up a metal bar and hit her numerous times, Brosnan told police.“Before I knew it, she was dead,” he said.Uriah Brosnan then bound her hands and feet, wrapped her in black plastic secured with duct tape, and dragged her – “easily” – out of the building, according to the interview with police.He left the body behind a chain link fence among composite shingles and wood scraps, next to the business, police said. Brosnan then cleaned his office and threw away his bloody clothes, police said.

In the midst of the bloody event, Brosnan’s boss, Tom Wilson, stopped by the business and noticed a light on, police said. Brosnan refused to open his office door for his boss, claiming to be alone and doing paperwork.The next day, Jan. 29, when Becky Brosnan failed to show up for a family gathering, her stepmother called police to say the absence was extremely unusual.Meanwhile, Uriah Brosnan had hacked into his wife’s e-mail and MySpace page, and used her cell phone to send text messages, police said.Police tracked the IP address to determine who had made the post on her MySpace page and determined it came from Uriah Brosnan’s computer.

He accessed her MySpace page 38 times from Jan. 28 to Feb. 6, a forensic expert determined. On Feb. 2, a text was sent from Becky Brosnan’s cell phone to her stepmom saying, “I’m OK.”One text message was sent to Bascetta saying she was out of town and that her car was at her husband’s house.When Becky Brosnan had been missing for five days, the Spokane Major Crimes unit began investigating. Detectives interviewed Uriah Brosnan and his girlfriend, Crystle Sellers, on Thursday, and they grew suspicious when his “story” varied, said Spokane police Officer Jennifer DeRuwe.Brosnan was fired Friday, police said.Police searched Brosnan’s workplace Monday, where they found blood on an office chair and drag marks. A forensics team collecting evidence there early Tuesday discovered the body among the debris about 2:30 a.m., said Spokane police Sgt. Joe Peterson.Becky Brosnan’s boyfriend, Bascetta, said the family was worried about the struggles she was having with her divorce. “This happening was all in the back of our minds, but we never thought he was capable.”

Sugar and Spice Makes Me Shout Twice!

Drew Peterson continue's his media performance. Adding new circus performers to his caravan. No surprise , he has served a platter of burnt toast, coffee and murder for approximately fourteen months.

The media including the WLS AM Radio show Cassidy and Mancow have continued to use Peterson and his on again, off again relationship as some form of entertainment. Inviting him on the show. Taking him out on the town to dinner. I wonder what Mancow & Cassidy both family men would do if it were their daughter Peterson was dating? To Listen go here.

What those who find this so entertaining do is give this bozo air wave time promoting victimization to those who fell prey, Kathleen Savio, Stacy Peterson . Peterson has yet to be arrested because the Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow is unable to secure enough evidence in either case. A word of advice to the current State's Attorney of Will County, mop these cases up, first, before you run for another office!

By now, the only girlfriend in Peterson's life should be bubba as he hands Peterson his bar of soap in a prison cell.

And we must not forget the interview on lucky Friday the 13th as Peterson and Christina Raines served yet another platter of burnt breakfast of a new life from the very house where Stacy Peterson vanished and her name remains on the title at the recorder of deeds.

If the career politician's over at the Will County States Attorney treated domestic violence as a crime, per the Illinois Domestic Violence Act, Stacy Peterson would be alive today.

A Year and a Half Later Bolingbrook Police Still Sleeping on the Job!

The Bolingbrook Police Department never apologized, or as I have recently discovered put a policy for police perpetrated domestic violence.

Perhaps after the Savio family files suit against the Bolinbrook police department for their failure to adhere to the Federal Violence Against Women's Act, The Lautenberg Act and the shear disgreard for the life per the Illinois Domestic Violence Act the Bolingbrook Police Department will be forced to change it's current policy. Oh wait, I meant to say implement a policy- currently, there is nothing in place.

To Serve and Protect clearly was not followed within the rank and file of the Bolingbrook, Illinois Police Department. In failing to do their jobs, they have caused additional casualties. A look away mentality with one or more of their own. A sloppy death investigation. In this tight knit police department many,if not all knew that Drew Peterson was dating and having a relationship with a minor. Kathy Savio had a court order of protection and police had been at their home on numerous occasions.

Kathy Savio was a a sitting duck as Drew Peterson planned her murder. In reading brief remarks made by the late Kathy Savio, red flags, not slowly burning embers should have lead to charges and the ultimate arrest and conviction of Officer Drew Peterson. But, they did not! Why? As it is within too many police departments across the country, blue defends blue. Who defends the lives of the Officers families? Certainly, not the police. Then who can they count on when their cries for help fall on deaf ears and their voice is silenced, forever?

When Marriage Turns Deadly

According to David Lohr’s Blog “There are several cases of missing mothers in the news right now. Two of those cases – Kelly Currin Morris and Corrie L. Anderson – have received a considerable amount of coverage here in recent months. Now another case - a Missouri mother of three – joins them among the pages of the missing, Renee Pernice……….

Not long ago cases of mothers vanishing , received little to nothing in the way of media coverage. A few scattered blurbs here and there it was more of a missing persons case if law enforcement couldn't find a body. Often police would not do much in the way of investigation, how could they? A potential crime scene in the residence of where the couple shared their lives. Unless they have a good reason to ask for a search warrant, it may not happen. Or too much time elapses and important evidence is destroyed. The case is now cold and it gets thrown into the pile of missing or unsolved cold cases. In part, this is due to lack of training in the area of domestic violence crimes. But,the Internet has become an important tool in bringing awareness to mothers and girlfriends missing at the hands of those who profess to love them. Pressure is placed from the community to law enforcement to investigate these cases. The Internet keeps their cases alive in hopes that someone will come forward or the person responsible is finally brought to justice.

One of the highest profile cases of mothers vanishing is Stacy Peterson. The Bolingbrook wife and mother married to the police Sergeant whom we see parading himself all over national television with a catch me if you can attitude.

None of these women could have predicted their fate. Each married to in my opinion murdering monsters. Their very existence based on power and control over every detail in their lives.
These men thought carefully when they discovered the mothers of their children and wives confronted their husbands with the startling news, they were leaving. Making plans to move forward without their abusive and controlling husbands.

In studying these cases for nearly twenty years, the majority of these cases have several similarities:

The women are stalked and tracked throughout their daily routines.

They have been somewhat isolated from friends and family.

They have been physically or verbally threatened with bodily harm if they don’t listen, or decide to leave.

They did not have a plan of action that included evidentiary documentation.

They confronted the person, disclosing to them their plans in ending the marriage or relationship.
The children of these women are, motherless.

Each, have vanished, or been killed.

While I can never bring my own mother back since her murder almost twenty years ago at the hands of man who was also angry she was moving forward with her life.
