Cowardly War Hero and The Murder of Tiffany Pemberton

A picture is not worth one thousand words.  To those who knew both Tiffany and Jason Pemberton, saying were "just a happy couple."  Truth is what happens behind closed doors in a relationship cannot be detected by anyone believing they know a person.

Heroic metals received during war isn't a barometer for whether a person is good or evil either.  In the war of intimate partner violence leading to homicide the hero's are those victims who tough it out and stay in their relationships hoping it will get better.  The casualties of this war erases the lives of at a minimum 8-10 victims everyday.

Over the summer police responded to a call placed by Jason claiming, Tiffany was causing a disturbance, he didn't press charges. Pemberton calling Daytona police amounts to nothing more than intimidation.  He obviously used his "war hero status" as a way to say to the world look at me, I can do no wrong.
In 2009, after three tours of active duty in the army Jason Pemberton received a medical discharge.

Serving our country and returning a hero had nothing to do with the murder of Tiffany Pemberton, 25, yet it was important enough too make the headlines in Florida. This cowards last actions in a war where victims are silenced for wanting to end the relationship with a cowardly killer only sanctions the behavior of a cold blooded murderer.  He murders Tiffany and even in death grabs the headline all because he fought for our country. Showing once again, intimate partner violence and homicide is reviewed and reported on as if it were a momentary nose bleed!  It is not. Intimate partner violence is criminal and with rapid fire turning deadly.

I didn't know either Tiffany nor Jason. I do however intimately know this war better than anyone.  The headline should have read; Tiffany Pemberton a Beautiful Woman Lost her Life in the War on Intimate Partner Homicide.  Included should have been information about what a victim can do to disarm the abuse leaving the violent relationship with her life.

The headline in the murder-suicide of this tragedy " Iraq Sniper War Hero, Shoots Wife, Self to Death."

Jason Pemberton may have earned three Purple Hearts, a Bronze star among others, but after he murdered his own wife those metals are as worthless as a prize in a box of cracker jacks.

Having not known either person and claiming to know the war better than anyone you should know not to post negative things about the topic. I knew Jason for 10 years and fought next to him overseas. This man is no coward and how dare you say so. How would his family and loved ones feel about your comments. If Tiffany stayed it was because she loved him and supported him through everything. Even in death. I'm not trying to justify what he did to be right...not at all, but if you don't know someone personally you should just keep his name out of your mouth and off of this second rate blog. I'm gonna let his family know where to find this site. I doubt they will be so forgiving. Oh and by the way, if you have not fought next to someone overseas, then you know nothing. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I dont think you have ever been so wrong. I was a class mate and friend of both Jason and Tiffany.Jason needed help and the United States Goverment did not provide it for him. they new, us as friends new,and so did the school that we attended.
There are a few us who bid no the seen behind close doors, and it was not good. How dare you call someone a coward that you dont even know. when you are traind to be a killer and you kill a 186 people in a war setting you need a great deal of help before you get put back into the savillian world. To me it sounds like the Goverment that trained him are the Cowards for turning there back on a American Hero. Tiffany was all Jason had, and they both new that.I am very saddend about the the whole deal. The men and women of our Military need us now just as much as we needed them during there tours of duty. I will miss them both dearly. As far as you go Susan, you should be ashamed of yourself.

What saddens me is that no where in the news has it been mentioned that Jason left behind a now 3 year old little boy. Who has thought about him? Probably no one. What also is sad is that so many people are bashing the VA for not helping him, but in reality the VA tried to help him but he refused the help. What happened here was tragic, but Jason made his own choices.

Are we supposed to feel sorry for Jason for having PTSD and for "justifiably killing" 186 people? Are we supposed to blame intimate partner homicide as "just a little aftermath" of the war he was already fighting in his head? Tiffany was all Jason had.. and no one else was allowed to come near her no doubt. Did he control her as on the battlefield? It's okay to murder your wife..and leave a small child behind because you have untreated demons? No, no, no! Talk about wrong headed thinking and second rate blog bashers.... Time to step out of your glorified military dream world and face the human toll we deal with in our communities! That, ladies and gentleman is the real battlefield! And once again, we are all crushed to the core when yet again small vulnerable children are left in the wake of these massacres!

Are we supposed to feel sorry for those with PTSD? The fight on the battlefield is more than anything apparently you could ever imagine, the media does a great job covering up What they train our men to do, TO SACRIFICE ONE TO SAVE THE MANY! Jason fought a war to protect us, the ignorant, intelligent, young and old. its clinically a Sever traumatic experience. Everyday/night there wasn't a guarantee for anything. Jason did what his job intaled and faced the reprocussion of a TBI and PTSD.A clinically diagnosed disorder. Those 186 ppl "killed" were to SAVE OUR MEN/WOMEN.one who I know personally wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him. He is a war hero, who faced the terrible reprocussions of being a veteran of war. Tiffany was a great person and apparently stayed by his side as his wife with the understanding that a person with war ptsd, again nothing is guarenteed. They were a loving couple, and wish more than anything that this occurance didn't happen because they were both great people who lit up a room when they walked in. Although it was inevitable that something traumatic was going to be the result of this relationship, but predetermination of whom was going to actually follow through with the life determination was unknown. They loved eachother. And knew eachothers weaknesses as do most spouses in a relationship, although what's even worse about this incidence is that the inevitable wasn't approached in a manner to help there relationship by not fueling off there toxicity, and those with Ptsd don't take threatening lightly and can only take so much. This is why those ignorant to PTSD Need to understand the disorder and our men and women need serious help before they are tp live in society as we know it.because its a serious transformation for them

I would never take PTSD lightly! I have had 55 surgeries in my lifetime and was in a healthcare profession for over 20 years! However, this should not be used as a scapegoat excuse to say "He was sick, therefore it's alright to murder his wife or anyone else!"
If their relationship was toxic and threatening, if only Tiffany had reached out to the right people, she would have been prepared with the Time's Up book and Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit, which surely would have saved her life!

I know that the military needs to radically change and take responsibility for the ravages of war on our troops, including endorsing SMM's program. But again, it is inexcusable to "overlook a murder" and say essentially, that's just how it was in their relationship. Not Acceptable- EVER!

The only Coward here is the Author. I knew Jason as a Child and into his Adulthood. His Father was a Good man as well. You failed to mention that Not only was Jason a REAL HERO that fought Bravely in Iraq, And seen more than any young man ever should in 20 lifetimes, But he had lost his father almost 1 year to the day of this tragic event. I am a Viet Nam Vet and I have PTSD and have been lucky to manage it over the years. The Vets have LITTLE if any HELP to turn too once they return home. My Son was a close friend to Jason in Childhood, My Son is now a Soldier as well. They deserve the respect of Heros. As for the young lady and her family, Tragic and sad for EVERYONE. But this man was NO Coward. Both Tiffany and Jason were let down, By many. Think about it. God Rest their Souls

I knew Tiffany but not Jason...I couldn't help feel the pain the author wrote and some of her words and my questions about this situation were similiar to the authors. Why didn't she leave sooner? Why didn't she get help? Why can't women see the warning signs?

Thank you for this. This post is from a person who has no idea.has been a year pain is still strong. His honors do mean something to us. While many of you sat at home enjoyin life he and many others gave their lifes to duty so you didn't have to do it. People please get facts straight this tragedy is not uncommon and will happen again. Instead of bashing help find an answer. Jason Pembertons aunt who still loves and honors him

Jason was a true hero and a highly decorated Soldier but more than that he is my brother so you need to watch your mouth when you talk about someone's family! Which they will know about this 3rd rate blog and I will be sure to tell them to post their feelings on here! Jason had a lot of the same problems that I have also been diagnosed with PTSD anxiety depression a broken back and at least 5 bulged disks! Does this mean I am going to kill my Wife and Unborn son who is named after a coragious and wonderful man and also his uncle I might add! I am naming my son Jason you are a pathetic woman to sit on your high horse and slander a man who fought for your right to sit at your computer and talk crap about him! Do you realize that less than 1% of the US population has deployed to fight for your rights and freedoms? But since were on the topics of facts there are a few you have left out the fact that in the police report the shots were about three hours apart and knowing Jason I would say he got startled and killed his wife and in grief and total loss took his own life does it make it right no if doesn't but don't slander a man for all the good he did in his life also! Like I said before I have a lot of the same problems does that mean I would kill my wife and son? NO! So piss on you and piss on this blog! I wouldn't kill my wife or son but I would kill the author of this blog for a god damn Klondike bar!
I say it loud and proud HOOAH!
