The State of Florida has yet to re-open the case of Sheena Morris. There is even evidence and information pointing directing at one stone cold target.  The Florida Department of Law Enforcement are afraid to man up and step-in and undo the damage by inexperienced Bradenton Beach investigators because of potential liability.

The family of Sheena Morris has spent thousand's of dollars they do not have for outside experts to come in and assist with the case.  Even after the death certificate has been changed from "suicide" because of the experts to now "undetermined" they are afraid if they rule homicide this will expose the County to a law suit by the family.

This is happens to be an election year both State's Attorney's and Manatee Sheriff races.  The community has the opportunity to vote out corruption and the "good old boy" network.  If Sheriff Brad Steube is re-elected the community can expect more of politics as usual and excessive waste of government spending and tax payers dollars..  If Ed Brodsky is elected as the new State's Attorney the citizens are merely passing the corruption baton from his predecessor on to him.

Sheena Morris and other unsolved homicides will receive justice if Peter Lombardo [Website http://peterlombardoforstateattorney.com/] whom is running for office as State's Attorney and Bill Waldron [Website http://waldron4sheriff.com/] are elected to properly service the people.  We have invited both men to the Crime Wire Show for the hour along with Kelly Osborne, mother of Sheena Morris.

Justice Denied in the Twelfth Judicial Circuit of Florida

Running for political office is no picnic.  It takes real heart and commitment to serve the public minus a personal agenda.  By personal agenda I mean doing a job regardless of paying back political favors once a person is in office.

In covering the case of Sheena Morris age 22, murdered on Anna Maria Island in Florida, January 1, 2009.  Between the Bradenton Beach Police Department and the States's Attorney's office, the mother Kelly Morris has been kicked to the streets by both. Recently, I've learned of other cases where the State's Attorney's Office of the 12th Judical Circuit has been negligent and covering up or not prosecuting several murders. Citizens have emailed me asking to have their cases heard after listening to radio broadcasts on the Sheena Morris case, pleading for my help.  In the weeks ahead, we will cover those cases and expose the wide-spread corruption.  You will learn about the cases and hear from the families in the coming weeks.

This is an election year.  In looking at the Website run by State's Attorney Earl Moreland who is retiring this year, has hand picked and endorsed his current Chief Assistant Ed Brodsky to replace him.  .

"The sole objective of the State Attorney's Office is to seek justice by providing the highest level of prosecution in the district. The State Attorney's Office of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit includes SarasotaManatee and DeSoto Counties."

The citizens have an opportunity to lend their voice for change in the primary on August 14, 2012. The current office has failed at prosecuting cases. They have failed at providing justice in the very communities for which they took an oath to uphold the law and serve the people.

The first of the shows will air live on June 21,2012.

Ethics Play a Major Factor in the Murder of Sheena Morris

Tonight, August 2, 2011, on the Crime Wire Investigates radio show, as part of our on going flame to justice, we discussed the death and lack of investigation in the unsolved death of Sheena Morris.

On January 1, 2009, the 22-year old was found hanging from a shower in a hotel room located in Anna Marie Island, Florida. Sheena was ending the relationship with her on again off again boyfriend, telling her mother it was coming to an end and things were going to change in the New Year.

It is important to note that a victim of intimate partner violence, never takes their own life as we would learn during the show; often they figure out the best way to move forward minus the violence and live their lives, not take their life! This was not a suicide as initially ruled.  Basically, no investigation was done by Bradenton detectives and the crime scene was mishandled. The medical examiner's office relied on those who responded to the scene, and with limited information and incorrect police reports, each a contributing factor in the initial ruling for this case as a suicide.

It would be Kelly Osborn, Sheena's mother, that would gather evidence and  information, along with hiring outside forensic pathologists Dr. Michael Baden and Dr. Michael Berkland, that would allow the Florida medical examiner to change the manner of death in March of 2011 to "undetermined." That should have been enough to re-open the case, but it was not. Public comments in media interviews labeling Kelly Osborn as a mere "grieving mother" are inexcusable.

In addition, 10 months after Sheena's death, the detective contacted the person of interest and informed him that "he is going to contact his alibi" for the evening in question. This action, in and of itself, is a huge ethics issue. It goes to credibility and can hurt future cases within the department, the county, and for the FDLE.

There were other issues and red flags of importance discussed about this case. The FDLE must take the lead and step in to investigate. Until they do, we (Crime Wire) will continue to take appropriate measures in the murder investigation and ultimate justice for Sheena Morris. Below is the link to the Crime Wire show.

Intimate Partner Violence and Stalking the road to Leaving with your Life

While there are many intimate partner, stalking and domestic abuse murders to highlight and unsolved homicide's like Sheena Morris sitting idle as if they were stacked up in rush hour traffic waiting as investigators inch forward from low gear in the case to finally making an arrest, my attention today is for those who are alive. Living in abusive relationships right now.

Around this time last year I was taken by surprise when someone whom I consider a close friend and a colleague was seriously injured by her husband. As the day unfolded so did the details of what happened. Every case and situation of abuse bothers me, but this one hit home.

It could be anyone- you, someone you work with, the mom you sat next to at the P.T.A. meeting or even the server at starbucks coffee for that matter.

In an effort to save what I term as the "silent Mary Jo's" of the world those living in war zones across the United States, Canada and Europe, the battle field is their own home I will use a gerneral overview based on the facts a life threatening situation just hours ago.

Mary Jo graduated with a masters degree in business. This highly energetic and attractive young woman landed a job at a chemical company in Washington, D.C. With no shortage of men asking her out she was careful to not get serious with anyone. Her career was a priority. Within a year Mary Jo locked eyes with Peter who had been transfered by the company to the D.C., office. Peter's rugged looks and his charming personality won the heart of Mary Jo. Two years later they married. The following year she gave birth to twin boys. Anxious to continue working Mary Jo started a consumer product company from her garage shipping orders across the country from the family garage until the business required a larger space.

The couple talked and Peter quit his job to oversee the business. Mary Jo maintained majority ownership and control making it one of a handful of female owned minority companies in the country with revenue after 6 years close to $35 million in sales. As the company prospered their marriage began to erode. Important decisions in the company were suddenly usurped by Peter. The hands on management and control she had no longer existed. Mary Jo threw herself into the boys activities and school. And she created a platform for which to speak out against various forms of abuse. That is how we met. At a violence conference in SanDiego where we struck up an immediate friendship. On and off we worked together on various and cases of intimate partner violence. And over the past couple of years we grew closer like girlfriends getting together happend when either us were in the others neck of the woods. But like most victims of intimate partner violence and stalking Mary Jo was very careful to keep her secret.

When Mary Jo started speaking up and disagreeing with Peter he barked at her as though she were his child. "You don't question me" he would snap back. The conversations -one way of course quickly turned into "ugly" in your face confrontations. When Mary Jo didn't back off enough Peter would slap her across the face with his open hand to physical beatings. Over time Peter was taking control of the household expenses and keeping close tabs on Mary Jo.

Fifteen years later and a few trips too many visits to the doctor, dentist or hospital because of so called "clumsy accidents" Mary Jo had enough. Several months ago she confided in me that she was making plans to end the marriage. In response I told her as a precaution to prepare the Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit, "just in case", I said. And to begin making plans for her future by hiring a lawyer, getting a job and deciding where she should live.

That was a year ago. Not much has changed except, with each day Mary Jo remains with Peter she risks being killed. Now, I learned that Mary Jo's loving husband Peter has made everyone believe she is crazy. "Don't trust anything she says Mary Jo is having a breakdown." Peter like many abusers that want to operate under the social radar within the community change their pattern of behavior to make everyone believe they are not capable of swatting a fly. They will go out of their way as Peter has to smile and assist others as if they have a compassionate heart. When in reality their true personality is saved for when they are tucked behind the door in their home where the behavior is only displayed to their victim, in this case Mary Jo Peter has increased his efforts and continues to track and stalking her every move. From reading her personal emails on the computer to tracking her movement by the GPS tracking system he activated on the company cell phone he gave her. And a closed circuit security camera was recently concealed in household items, and discovered by Mary Jo. That was the last straw. She called and said, please help me."

Emotionally Mary Jo is out of emotional gas, unable as many victims to climb uphill before they reach the other side to safety. For the next fews weeks we will work one on one for a plan that is specific to her situation. Leaving any intimate partner violent relationship is not a "one size fits all" process. It takes determination and strength to leave. And it is possible when you have support accompanied by a plan of action.

Once you are threatened, hit, stalked, questioned in a controlling way, a second chance to save your life, is no longer an option.

“If you are reading this and find yourself in a similar situation, know that there are measures you must take before announcing the end of your relationship. These safety precautions can be found in the book, "Time's Up: A Guide on How to Leave an Abusive and Stalking Relationship" by Susan Murphy Milano. Don't take things into your own hands without expert guidance.” (Mothers Are Vanishing)

I cannot stress enough, if you are in a relationship that has a history of violence, simply mustering up the courage to confront the person and say it is over, without the proper tools, can cost you, your life!
One of the major reasons women stay in abusive relationships is fear. They are afraid of what will happen to them and their children if they leave. Sadly, their fears are often justified; statistics show that a woman is at the greatest risk for injury when sheannounces her plans or leaves an abusive relationship.

The book "Time's Up A Guide on How To Survive and Abusive and Stalking Relationship" is the prescription, if you will, that every person must obtain before they announce they are leaving. Below is an example from Chapter 4, one of many unique tools provided in the book. It is available onAmazon.com, or you can purchase via e-book or on a cd. If you have questions, the email address is: timesupforjustice@gmail.com

Before you decide that you have had enough and are ending the relationship create for yourself the "Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit" and video (shown below).

If you do nothing else, please take one important step that if something does happen to you, if you do vanish like Stacy Peterson, Vensus Stewart, Rachel Anderson, Susan Powell, Lisa Stebic, or are found murdered like Monica Beresford-Redmond, Franki Jacobson, Renee Pagel, Summer Inman, Kelly Rothwell and others where the person responsible has gotten away with murder that your voice and record of the abuse will be captured and recorded. Do it for you friends, family and loved ones. Do it for your children. Do it for you!

Sheena Morris: Special Investigation Part 2: Intimate Partner Homicide

The above photo is not from the TMZ site of the stars, but a mug shot taken at a police station while being booked in Pinellas County, Florida on 6/27/2009, at 12:01:17 PM, for domestic battery- 6 months after the death of Sheena Morris.

Two weeks ago the medical examiner's office changed the death certificate of Sheena Morris from a suicide to now "undetermined." That alone is enough for the Bradenton Beach police department to formally request Manatee County Sheriff's office to take over with the new evidence in this case. But, Bradenton Beach Police and the Mayor are giving the family lip service, telling them to "have a lawyer contact them if they wish to discuss their daughters case."

The family has already spend thousands, upon thousands of dollars hiring forensic experts and investigators providing law enforcement with the facts. These very people elected and sworn to uphold the law are now kicking this family seeking justice as if it were disposable garbage. In the meantime, a murderer is allowed to roam free in the community.

According to the forensic reports the "crime scene was staged." I should point out this is a pattern of conduct consist with intimate partner homicide murders.

The report continues :
"Domestic homicide committed by offenders who are criminally inexperienced and who are therefore unaware of the appearance of a genuine crime scene. Their inexperience coupled with the likelihood that they attempted to alter the crime scene while agitated or in a highly emotional state, inhibits their ability to think clearly. As a result, individuals who stage crime scenes often make unintended errors, termed "red flags", that reveal the scene is inconsistent with what is attempted to be demonstrated.

"The case represents a death in which the crime scene was altered to stimulate an intentional suicidal hanging."

Police do not interview the last, and only, person in and at the crime scene for 22 days. He shows up with Sheena's family, it's 80 degree weather, wearing a full length turtleneck, likely covering marks left by Sheena Morris as she was fighting for her life. Is it because of his connection to organized crime that no arrest is made?

The family has fought an uphill battle for the truth. Their daughter was murdered. At the very least, so that someone else is not killed, the Bradenton Beach police department need to refer the case out to Manatee County.

The driver's license of this individual whom, in my opinion , murdered Sheena Morris, lists his address in Indian Rocks, FL. The same area where police cadet Kelly Rothwell went missing on March 12, 2011, after she ended her relationship with David Perry, a former New York correctional officer. Her remains have yet to be located.

Coverage will continue for this case this week on the the nationally syndicated, The Roth Show (www.therothshow.com) on Wednesday, at 7:00 PM Eastern time, 4/20/2011

On the "Time's Up" show (listen here) we discussed the case in greater detail with Kelly Osborn (Sheena's mother); Sol Vocarro (friend of family); and Tom Shamshak (former chief of police and private investigator)
