Shining the Light Brightly for Missing Loved Ones and Their Family

.

In Rochester, New York  hundreds over the weekend attended the vigil for Larie Butler, 17, found  murdered in a swimming pool.  Her life was stolen by a someone she trusted, a family friend.  When Larie was reported missing on March 24, 2012, the CUE Center for Missing Person's sent in their top volunteers to assist the family shortly thereafter.

Dawn Drexel, recently named New York State Outreach Coordinator for the CUE Center for Missing Persons, brought forth the efforts and support for the family.  One wonders how a mother gains the strength to help other families as she still waits for word everyday on her own child, still missing, Brittanee Drexel, 17, who suddenly vanished in Myrtle Beach during spring break on April 25, 2009. This years marks the third anniversary of her disappearance and the family will return to Myrtle Beach for a tree planting ceremony in Brittanee's memory.

Not every family has the opportunity to bring their loved one home.  It can take days, months and often years until remains are recovered.  One agency has been the guardian, or the "keeper of the flame" for families of missing persons, since 1994.  The CUE Center is a not-for-profit agency dedicated to burning both daytime and midnight lights brightly until a loved one is found.

The agency provides support and hope for families at a time when answers just are not available.  They are an amazing group whose expertise includes, current and former law enforcement, many volunteers who are parents and friends of missing loved ones, and teams who are trained and certified in search, rescue and recovery.

The Cue Center for Missing Persons, needs the public's support.  Please take a moment and visit their website at www.ncmissingpersons.org.  And consider supporting their upcoming event on April 28, 2012.  (see below)

Jen Harnett is the Kansas State Outreach Coordinator for CUE Center for Missing Persons and has organized the 1st Annual Night Walk to Shed Light on the Missing as a fundraising benefit for CUE on April 28 at Pittsburgh State University in Pittsburgh, Kansas in honor of her son, Joshua Hancock. Peter Hyatt

The central theme of Peter Hyatt’s personal blog is “Statement Analysis“, a method of linguistic polygraphy which seeks to discern truth from deception found within speech. Many of these cases are discussed on “The Peter Hyatt Show” on Blog Talk Radio, or on the shows of others which invite Peter Hyatt to appear.
Peter Hyatt works with law enforcement, private citizens, attorneys, and other organizations, particularly on missing persons cases.  Peter frequently works consulting with law enforcement throughout the country.
“Although Statement Analysis is of great value to an investigator, it is also a great tool for counselors, therapists, human resources, educators, and all those interested in truth.  Equally valuable for private life, the ability to discern truth from deception is something that can be learned, practiced, and excelled at.  In fact, everyone from junior high principals to parents need to learn to discern truth from fiction.” Peter Hyatt
Peter and his wife Heather write timely articles analyzing high profile crimes, often showing readers areas of deception within television and newspaper interviews.  Check out the blog:  Statement Analysis and get to know the Hyatts and the fascinating science of analyzing words and how they are used.
Peter Hyatt is a civil investigator who has conducted more than 2,500 interviews including children’s interviews.  He uses Statement Analysis is his work, and teaches Statement Analysis in Interviewing.
He also works part-time as an analyst for law enforcement and private companies.  He is the host of “The Peter Hyatt Show” while appearing on various other programs as a guest analyst, including on the forum of “Crime Wire.”  He has authored many articles, some of which can be found here. He does pro bono work for families in “cold cases”; doing analysis of prior interviews.  Tonight we discuss missing intimate partner homicides and those who appear to get away with murder!

Six years and new detective later, the mother of missing woman Brandy Hanna, who disappeared from Charleston, South Carolina on May 20, 2005, has hope that a tennis shoe found earlier in the week, near the closed  Navy Base could belong to her daughter. Gail Nowacki Palmgren: More Questions Than Answers

"Signal Mountain police Detective James Tizzio said his investigation had uncovered no psychiatric issues with the missing woman."

On Saturday, April 30, 2011, Gail Nowacki Palmgren, age 44, dropped off her 9 and 12 year old children at the marital residence and left (there was a ping signal to the Wal-Mart doesn't mean much of anything at this point) in Signal Mountain, TN and has not been seen or heard from since. She and the kids spent the prior night at the family cabin near Montgomery, AL, after police responded to a domestic related call, not the first time. Law Enforcement also provided a few safe telephone numbers for shelter services.

I have to admit, this case has me stumped. After receiving emails since the weekend asking for attention on her disappearance either via blogs or my radio shows, not a lot is making sense.

Law enforcement is being restrictive on their information and activities as it relates to an investigation or developments.

What we know:
We know the mother of 2 is missing.
We know the couple was in the midst of a legal separation.
We know that she received numbers to a shelter service from law enforcement.
We know the husband has a mistress who also is a co-worker.
We know the husband filed court papers for temporary custody of the children after mom was reported missing.

Some Questions:
Why isn't the husband cooperating with law enforcement?
Why is he claiming she has serious mental health issues?
Why is he claiming she changed codes to the bank accounts?
Why is he claiming she took jewels?
Why is he claiming that he received a change of address from the post office dated April 30th?
And why isn't he searching for his wife, the mother of his children?
Why is he setting the tone of details (his version) that have nothing to do with her needing to be found?

I always find that when a person provides this type of information it is to disarm the truth of what is really happening. Especially in cases of intimate partner violence.

According to a news interview her sister gave : "She was nervous. She was anxious. She sounded scared," says Diane Nichols. Palmgren wouldn't say why she was scared but the Nichols made out this much, "She just thought she was being followed." If she was a victim of intimate partner violence this has significance.

Question: The night she and the kids spend at the cabin where was the husband? I would, if possible, check his gas and credit card activities as well as his cell phone pings. Perhaps even locate his associates or friends and do the same with them.

To Gail's sister and brother, I suggest that you immediately contact the CUE Center for missing persons. Register the case with the organization so they can provide you with assistance in your sisters case. The number to call is 910-343-1131. The website is www.ncmissingpersons.org

I will also offer the family media to spread the word on radio shows this week to help get the information out. Just email me at murphymilano@gmail.com and provide a contact number if you would like to do so.

I would provide more details and insight but at this stage why give the criminal defense attorney a heads up. Focus should be directed on finding her, now.

Websleuths.com is also following this case.

The Family has created a facebook page titled Bring Gail Home Now

Have you seen Gail Palmgren?

Police describe 44-year-old Gail Nowacki Palmgren as 5'8" tall, weighing 135 lbs., with blonde hair and brown eyes.

She drives a dark red, 4-door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with a personalized Alabama tag reading: "EAZY ST"

If you have any information on her whereabouts, you are asked to call the Signal Mountain Police Department at 423-886-2123.
