Police Officer arrested for the Murder of Missing Mom Wynetta Wright and Baby Jaylin

You may not have heard about 20 year-old Wynetta Wright (pictured above) and her one year old daughter Jaylin who were reported missing on Tuesday from Hillcrest, MD, and sadly its only now we are because the mother and toddlers bodies were discovered.

This as much about a missing persons case as it is a intimate partner homicides. So many of missing persons cases are related directly to a spouse or former boyfriend. They are always the last person with whom victims have direct contact, and almost always the last ones to see them alive. And it can take years before remains are discovered and even longer for justice. Women and men all victims of intimate partner violence in my opinion, who are still missing; Renee Pernice, Samatha Smith, Lisa Stebic, Patty Vaughan, Hope Meek, Stacy Peterson, Michael Tappley, Billy Smoliniski, John James Morris, Venus Stewert, Brandy Hanna, Star Boomer, Melanie Methanie, Beth Bently and police cadet Kelly Rothwell are among a few who remain on an ever growing list.

The young mother was to be in court this past Tuesday for a paternity and child support hearing. And the evening before she received a call from the child's father to meet with him and talk. They had had no communication since the birth of the baby.

The father and person arrested, Richard Phillips a District of Columbia police officer assigned to the vice-unit working drugs and street crimes. He is now being held without bond and his police powers have been revoked.

The District of Columbia Officer was very married and she likely had no clue of the relationship until the arrest. So he takes matters into his own hands because he is angry with the fact that she is taking him to court for support of the child.

Wynetta died from basically being beaten to death. The one year old child was found still strapped in her car seat Jaylin died from the extreme heat.

In far too many of these cases why does anyone let their guard down and meet someone in a secluded area to talk? It serves no purpose and as in this tragic example, it will get you killed. Wynetta did alert her mother as to where she was going and with whom she would be meeting. In a lot of these cases that does not often happen. Victims do not tell someone where they are going or meeting. Quick police work resulted in finding both mother and daughter. In my opinion, funeral expenses for both mother and child should come out of the officers accumulated retirement money.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please send donations to:

I cannot stress enough the dangers of ending a relationship and having a plan in place before you announce to the world that you are ending the relationship, going to court or moving on with your life. Tragedy does not have to be the outcome when you are smart and have a solid plan.

f you are in a relationship that has a history of violence, simply mustering up the courage to confront the person and say it is over, without the proper tools, can cost you, your life!

The book "Time's Up A Guide on How To Survive and Abusive and Stalking Relationship" is the prescription, if you will, that every person must obtain before they announce they are leaving. Below is an example from Chapter 4, one of many unique tools provided in the book. It is available on Amazon.com, or you can purchase via e-book or on a cd. If you have questions, the email address is: timesupforjustice@gmail.com

Before you decide that you have had enough and are ending the relationship create for yourself the "Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit" and video (shown below).

If you do nothing else, please take one important step that if something does happen to you, if you do vanish like Stacy Peterson, Vensus Stewart, Rachel Anderson, Susan Powell, Lisa Stebic,
Kelly Rothwell or arefound murdered like Monica Beresford-Redmond, Franki Jacobson, Renee Pagel,Summer Inman, and others where the person responsible has gotten away with murder that your voice and record of the abuse will be captured and recorded. Do it for you friends, family and loved ones. Do it for your children. Do it for you!

The Susan Murphy Milano Show "Time's Up": Special Guest Rita Cosby and Unsolved Cases of Brandy Hanna and Suspicious Death of Gary "Boo" Edwards

NEW DAY, NEW TIME!

Thursdays from 2pm to 4pm Eastern

The Susan Murphy Milano Show

“Time’s Up!”

Thursday, February 3

2pm-3pm:

Rita Cosby

Once in a while there comes along an important story that needs to be told. ”Quiet Hero” by Rita Cosby is one of those stories.

Most of us know Rita Cosby from her journalistic appearances on all the major news networks, anchoring prime time news reports and currently as a correspondent for the popular show, Inside Edition. Her first book, “Blonde Ambition” about the life and death of Anna Nicole Smith, was a New York Times Best Seller.

“An Emmy-award winning journalist, Rita Cosby hosted the top-rated show on MSNBC, “Rita Cosby: Live & Direct.” She also hosted Fox New Channel’s highly rated programs, ”Fox News Live with Rita Cosby” and “The Big Story Weekend Edition with Rita Cosby.” Some of her groundbreaking interviews include: an exclusive interview with Slobodan Milosevic while he was imprisoned at The Hague; an exclusive interview with Yasser Arafat when his compound was under siege; she was the first journalist to see the suspected terrorists held at Guantanamo and witness an actual interrogation; and a rare, private meeting with Pope John Paul II after receiving an exclusive letter from Timothy McVeigh explaining why he carried out the Oklahoma City bombing. Having interviewed more than a dozen world leaders and four US Presidents, she also made headlines for her interviews with Michael Jackson, David Berkowitz and Dr. Jack Kevorkian. She has been a featured guest on hundreds of television and radio shows worldwide and earned her two bachelors’ degrees from the University of South Carolina.”

3pm-4pm:

Gary Edwards

At 6:15 p.m. on October 31, 2006, officers from the Marlow, Oklahoma Police Department were dispatched to the home of 25-year-old Gary Don Edwards in response to a domestic dispute reported by Gary’s wife, Heather. After his arrest, Gary was found hanging in his cell, ruled a suicide. However, Donna Edwards and her husband Gary, Sr., weren’t convinced that their son had taken his own life. Joining us to examine yet another case botched by the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office on the case is Gary’s mother, Donna Edwards. This is our continuing series on reforming the Oklahoma office.

Monica Caison of CUE Center for Missing Persons and family members joins us to discuss the missing persons case of Brandy Hanna with her mother, Donna Parent.

On the night of May 20, 2005, Brandy Hanna (pictured above) vanished from her North Charleston, South Carolina apartment without a trace.

Known as the “Jane Wayne of Justice,” Susan Murphy Milano always stands up as a voice for those who are silenced in a world of intimidation and violence within their homes and in courtrooms across the country.

Main Stream Media Has A Problem?

Last week the Chicago Sun-Times ran ink, once again, on former Bolingbrook, IL, Sgt. Drew Peterson who is awaiting trial for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.  Michael Sneed writes a regular column for the paper and now it appears, in my opinion, that my less than favorite serial predator and offender of women, aside from being a dickless wonder, has his own special place in the columnist's heart under the heading of "Drew News."

Of course Michael Sneed doesn't name her so called "source" because that might be a conflict  interest to list a key figure in Peterson's representation over a few scotch and sodas just up the street from the Chicago Sun-Times headquarters.

In true Jerry Springer tabloid style, the reporter writes about Peterson's future as if it were important. It mentions how he is going to be acquitted, or so he believes, and that he's requesting his ashes to be turned into diamonds and, oh yes, he has prepared his last will and testament, which, by the way, is a hell of lot more than either Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson were able to do before they were allegedly killed.

Maybe Sneed can get her so called "source" to confidentially disclose where the remains of Stacy Peterson, Drew's fourth wife who vanished, are just so she has her facts straight. I am thinking maybe she had a memory lapse and forgot that Stacy Peterson  is still out there someplace and her children are, once again, spending Christmas without their mother.   I also suggest Sneed and the Chicago Sun-Times editors take a moment to read yesterday's post at Women and Crime Ink titled "Tell Everyone We Want to Bring Stacy Peterson Home For Christmas."

When mainstream media provides a forum to any individual who is awaiting a trial for the murder, or in this situation murder(s) of innocent lives, they are saying to the public, "This person is important for us to cover and we believe it is news".  I understand all person(s) are innocent until proven guilty by a court of law, but, in these cases of intimate partner homicide, especially when a woman is still missing, you have given her killer, in my opinion, more coverage than you have the case of Stacy Peterson and coverage on finding her.  You and the person currently residing in a prison cell, have basically said to the world, her children and family, hey F_ _ _ YOU!
