Reza Jou and Karim Pirani

Three years ago, on June 23, 2007, San Diego State University honor student, Donna Jou, vanished after meeting up with a man who responded to her tutoring service ad on an online classifieds site. The man turned out to be John Steven Burgess, a three time convicted sexual predator. Because Donna’s body has not been found, Burgess unfortunately was only charged for involuntary manslaughter and is currently serving a five year prison sentence. He is due to be released on April 15, 2011 (only 2 years incarcerated for such a major crime. http://donnajou.com

Reza Jou, Donna's father, is on a crusade to improve Internet safety. He has invested in a new website, SafeList.com, that provides an online classifieds platform based on its Verified Identity technology.
Known as the “Jane Wayne of Justice,” Susan Murphy Milano always stands up as a voice for those who are silenced in a world of intimidation and violence within their homes and in courtrooms across the country.

Drew Peterson Defense Adds New Members To The Already Crowded Circus Ring?

According to reporter Joe Hosey and author of the book Fatal Vows who has been covering the Drew Peterson case since 2004, the total number on the defense team is now up to six.

In my opinion, of note joining the team, or should I say "train wreck," is defense attorney and legal commentator Steven A. Greenberg. I am surprised because of Greenberg’s criticisms in the past to my favorite legal marshmallow roaster (notorious for passing out monogrammed pens and handing out chicken wings with sauce to reporters) because he couldn’t control the client

I happen to know Greenberg from other cases through the years. He is one of Illinois more skilled defense lawyers. So why is he wasting his talent and representing the former Bolingbrook police Sergeant?

In an interview over a year ago ,and as a legal commentator, defense attorney Steve Greenberg, who has analyzed the Peterson saga for national news shows--
"The second Savio autopsy is just a different interpretation of the injuries," he said. "The same injuries were documented in the first one, but what apparently happened is it was treated differently because Drew Peterson was a police officer. It's just a fact that authorities at the time took his story and didn't really look into it."
Greenberg said he doesn't expect Glasgow will undercut his own case by running from the first autopsy, however.
"He'll say, 'That was just that pathologist's opinion at the time, but it's really up to you to decide,'" he said. Glasgow will then point to the injuries noted in both autopsies and ask the jury to use common sense.
"He'll ask, 'Do you think that someone who falls in a bathtub would have 17 bruises on their body?"

In my opinion this one is all about the media gravy train. I’ll bet a dozen pair of pantyhose Steven Greenberg has taken this case pro-bono.

Regardless, Greenberg wins either way and has nothing to lose by being part of the already crowded circus act. Wish there was a way to put an attorney on the stand when they make "expert in their opinion" remarks
and hold them accountable. Reminds me of another attorney Mark Geragos.

[For the very latest on the Peterson case visit http://www.petersonstory.wordpress.com/ the trial starts June, 14, 2010]

Franki Jacobson: " Behind The Gates"

Franki Jacobson a wife, mother and author wrote under the name Frankaleana Beana. She co-author the children’s book released in December of 2000 titled “Green Bean’s Birthday Party” a book to help parents of children with autism. From what I read on-line she was a pioneer on a mission to bring awareness to children with autism. As a mother of two 7 year- old twin boys Eric and Joshua. She had written articles from "do you know the signs of autism" to "what parents can do for their children once they are diagnosed."

Over the weekend in a wealthy Palm Beach Florida gated community the author and her two boys were murdered by their loving father and husband.

Regardless of the financial difficulty this man was having it is a poor excuse to commit murder.

The issue of intimate homicide reaches every segment of our society. From the homeless to the middle class, the Harvard educated and the wealthy. There are those likely in the gated community of Florida who will dismiss the fact that Neal Jacobson was depressed and excuse the triple homicide murders committed by someone who was not properly diagnosed and treated for his mental illness, and “oh what a shame.” But in the world I live in that is not reality, as far as I am concerned.

When you deal with these cases on a daily basis be it drinking, drugs, depression that is often the convenient excuse an abuser uses giving themselves permission to commit the cold blooded crimes. They actually think about a plan of action long before it is finally carried out. Sometimes an offender learns of a possible infidelity or simply they are jealous over the other person’s relationship with the children and the community in which they live. An abuser often builds up circumstances or events in their mind that may never materialize but they believe them to be true. So over time the thought becomes an unexplained rage in their reality.

Unfortunately, in this tragedy it will not be difficult for a good defense attorney to build a case of insanity on behalf of his client. There were enough remarks and comments from the community who will likely testify that Neal Jacobson was mentally ill.

The problem is that from the grave Franki Jacobson will not be able to testify on her behalf as to the real truth of what went on in the marriage like all women who are murdered behind closed doors.
