Heather Mallory's Case Remains Unsolved

March 7, 2008 is a long time for the family of Heather Cole from Portland, Oregon who went missing nearly 27 months ago, to continue without answers.

For families of unsolved or missing persons ,time on a clock literally stands still the moment they receive information a loved one is missing or has been found dead.

Brian Cole, Heather’s husband, and their 5-year-old son have since moved from the Portland Oregan area and now live somewhere Idaho. Her body was never been found, but police think she is dead. I should also mention Brian, her husband, failed a lie detector test last year, but as any defense attorney worth their salt would tell you, taking a lie detector does not mean a person is guilty of a crime.

According to the husband, he informed police Heather Mallory stayed out all night partying on March 7th and came home to her southeast Portland apartment the next morning.

Her husband, Brian Cole, confronted her about her all-nighter. That was the last known time anyone saw Heather alive and Cole says she left after the argument. I should also report that she was four months pregnant. Another case, in my opinion, where a person with possible motive is the only one to have a story and the last to see the person who vanished alive. As we all know, a mother never, ever just leaves their child behind.

Police think she’s dead but have yet to find a body. Her car was found abandoned, and her cell phone has had zero activity, as well as as her credit card. Steve and Jeni Mallory—Heather’s parents—talk to police every week hoping something turns up. But. in these cases when there are no witnesses or if someone did see or hear something, they often talk themselves out of coming forward. It makes it difficult for law enforcement to continue investigating a case. It goes cold and sits in a dark file cabinet until a new pair of eyes reviews the case or a reporter does a follow-up to a story.



It is worth mentioning the couple allegedly had marital problems with the police reposnding to a domestic call for help in the home and Heather securing a court order of protection.

Brian Cole remains only a person of interest.

No one had the right to take her life and we have a responsibility in these cases to seek justice for those who are no longer able to speak for themselves.
