FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The Florence County Sheriff's Office has confirmed the remains of missing woman Devin Grace Ivey have been found in the Coward area Wednesday.

Florence County Coroner Bubba Matthews said the remains were found near Salem Road and Brown Road.

Capt. Brett Camp, spokesman for the Florence County Sheriff's Office, said investigators and Matthews have positively identified Ivey's remains.

Devin Ham Ivey, 22, was last seen at the Olanta Budget Inn on June 9.

Her husband, Rodney Ivey, was arrested Tuesday after deputies in Florence County said his stories about his wife's disappearance were inconsistent and false.

He has been charged with providing false information to law enforcement.

The state of Ivey's remains has not been released at this time.

Further details have not been provided at this time. WMBF News will provide them as soon as possible.


A smile as bright as diamonds dancing on the water, Devin Grace Ivey Ham, 22 vanished and has not been seen since Thursday, June 9, 2011.

Her last known location was the Olanta Budget Inn, in Florence, South Carolina. Devin was last seen with her husband whom police arrested today for providing false information and a parole violation.

Search teams have been combing miles of ground and air in hopes of finding Devin.

Maybe the young woman in the photo looks familiar. Is it possible you could have seen her at a fast food restaurant, CVS, gas station or a coffee shop? Maybe you saw or heard something that you do not think is important enough to call and provide information, but it is.

Devin is described as a white female standing 5'7" and weighing 100 pounds.

Anyone with information on Devin's whereabouts is urged to call the Florence County Sheriff's Office at 665-2121, ext. 440 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-crimesc (274-6372). A reward is now being offered by her family.

A facebook page has been created and showing support even if you do not live in the area or know the person shows a family that people care.
