When he first learned of her plans to end the marriage and file for divorce he went absolutely nuts. Derrick thought he planned the perfect crime. He dropped the assult charges aginist Dep Yancey because of his mother. If he was so unruly he would have stuck it to Dep Yancey. That is the ONLY crime of the son. What husband PRESSUREs the wife at every turn to put their child out forcing her to make some difficult choices. What FATHER does not attend their child's High School Graduation. What Good, Decent person acts like Dep Yancey? Yancey is a poor excuse of a man and he deserves what he has coming! I feel sorry for the children and Linda did not deserve to die because she decided she no longer wanted to be with him. He was caught up into material things and he did not want to give any of that up. My prayers go out to Cam and Karron they are going to live without their mother.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3597448872621332882.post-38526619422975520492008-06-13T12:42:00.000-04:002008-06-13T12:42:00.000-04:00Yancey's tale and trail of lies won't hold up.Yancey's tale and trail of lies won't hold up.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3597448872621332882.post-38452440627552264432008-06-12T22:36:00.000-04:002008-06-12T22:36:00.000-04:00I think it's best to wait to judge what has happen...I think it's best to wait to judge what has happened here. I know Yancey personally and I cannot even fathom the thought of hime doing such an unspeakable crime as the one folks want to pressume happened. I hate that the domestic issues were even brought out because of his unruly teenager. WHOM DID reck havoc in his home and whose friends still RECK havoc in the neighborhood. One young man he used to hang out with was arrested on drug and gun charges. It seems those previous charges were a case of a father trying to discipline a child who did not accept it well....I know that people can click at any moment but this just seem sooooo unlike Officer Yancey...Look how lives can change in a split second. Neither the sheriff's office nor county police officials would comment on Yancey's arrests in April and November 2006, in separate incidents involving his son Karron, now 18... Yancey told police that his son hit him in the face when he tried to take away the teen's cell phone, as punishment for downloading "dirty music" on the family computer. A relative who was at the home called police, saying Linda Yancey said her husband chased their son out of the home with his pistol and threatened to "blow her son (sic) head off." Linda Yancey later confirmed the threat but said her husband was not armed when he made it. Yancey was charged with making terroristic threats. In November, Yancey and his son had another blow up over music. Yancey said he returned home to hear offensive music playing and confronted his son. The teen said Yancey hit him and threw his computer keyboard down, according to the report. Police charged Yancey with simple assault and battery. Although prosecutors dropped both cases, the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council has an open investigation into Yancey on at least one of the incidents. Records from the council, a regulatory body for public safety employees, were not available Wednesday...
http://www.ajc.com/services/content/metro/dekalb/stories/2008/06/11/dekalb_deputy_wife_shot.htmlBehind The Blue Wallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04429113203939514642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3597448872621332882.post-67087933997143366252008-06-11T18:28:00.000-04:002008-06-11T18:28:00.000-04:00Deputy had been arrested for altercation with sonT...Deputy had been arrested for altercation with son
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
By APRIL HUNT, LARRY CONLEY
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
06/11/08
[EXCERPTS] The DeKalb County sheriff's deputy who shot an intruder who he said shot his wife was arrested in November, 2006 for a domestic violence incident after an altercation with his teenage son, records show. Derrick Yancey, 46, was charged with simple battery and simple assault after an argument with his son over playing "offensive music," according to a police report. The teenager said Yancey hit him and threw his computer keyboard to the ground... The charges against Yancey were later dropped, according to county records. His son said he did not wish to prosecute... Both Yanceys worked for the DeKalb sheriff's office. Derrick Yancey is a 17-year-veteran deputy whose job was to transport inmates around the state. Linda Yancey had worked for the department for 13 years, first in the county court and most recently as intake officer in the juvenile court... Yancey and the couples' two sons, ages 8 and 18, are staying with relatives... Yancey is on paid administration leave. The Sheriff's Office will conduct an internal investigation to make sure Yancey followed procedures when he fired his gun.
http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/dekalb/stories/2008/06/11/dekalb_deputy_wife_shot.htmlBehind The Blue Wallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04429113203939514642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3597448872621332882.post-90744063658481117242008-06-11T12:09:00.000-04:002008-06-11T12:09:00.000-04:00Yancey hires a guy to do landscaping on the proper...Yancey hires a guy to do landscaping on the property.
