National Media Blunder-Celebrity Status For Murder Suspect

An "important press release" hit the news wires 28 hours ago. Lead items on AOL, places like the Associated Press and hundreds shows and news wires ran a breaking news headline. The Chicago Sun-Times displayed the tabloid trash on their front page.

Everyone who covered the story fell prey to not only an abuser, but a man who threatens his family. A man who is a suspect in what police believe is a homicide. With another case from a prior relationship, now a murder.

Two, Women, Four Children without mothers and a dickless cowardly , husband of one dead woman, Kathleen Savio and the other to whom this jackass is still legally married too, Stacy Peterson makes national headlines because he got engaged to some 23 year-old.

In the same way that Illinois Attorney General, Lisa Madigan demanded the removal of the Illinois Governor, she should also demand from the Will County States Attorney James Glasgow the finding of the grand jury, the progress of the Illinois State police investigation and the status of the Drew Peterson case.

When will Peterson be arrested and formally charged in at least one of these cases is the only national headline that should be important.

Playing into the hands of an abuser, also a former law enforcement officer, is like the joker smiling at batman, in every episode allowed to get away with murder, without ever being held accountable.

Don't Live in Fear: Have a Game Plan

My guess if you are a victim of relationship abuse, you have had learn how to survive. . If you talk back, disagree with the person you already understand the heavy price paid when "you do not follow orders or do what you are told".

Through the relationship you more than likey have denied or minimized the abuse. You feel helpless, your in too deep with this person, and you may feel there is no way out.

But you are wrong. You can get help and get out safely with a plan. Before you begin it is very important that you be the very best actress you can. Do not let this person who is abusing you or anyone you do not trust with your life in on your plans to leave.

During each step, you must be ten steps ahead of the person abusing you. It is dangerous when you in a violent relationship and are preparing to leave to discuss any plans of ending the relationship with that individual. You must not provoke any conflict or agument that may be going on once you have begun the process of leaving. If you do, you take the chance of being harmed with bodily injury.

You never confront the person abusing you by saying somelike like "I'm Leaving" or I've had enough" or we are through, I am taking the kids and never comming back."

Bad move. That is what will get you killed.

Your actions or reactions will play a key role in your safety. You have indured so much. You may be tired, feeling as though you just don't have the strength or the resoucres to leave, but you do.

If you have lived day in and day out with a controlling manipulative individual, leaving will be difficult for you at the begining. You have been brainwashed to feel as though you are worthless, no good to anyone.

Reverse that thought, you are with that person so you can't be "worthless", now can you?

Abuse, rape, violence destroys your confidence to grow as a human being, to try new things, to develop talents. It is a toxin that has effected every aspect of your life. And now it is time for you to remove the toxin within your being.

Creating a Safety Plan: LEAVING ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS Its important to allow yourself enough time when preparing to leave an abusive relationship, especially if youre married and have children, but it can be done. Its also a good idea once you begin, not to make calls from your home, go to a pay phone, friends, relatives, or call and make arrangements from your place of employment. Remember NOT to use your home computer.
Begin by drafting a plan of action for yourself. Keep it at work or a trusted, secure location.

Start to gather copies of important papers like: Birth certificates (of you and the children) Make sure you have certified copies. Social Security cards Marriage certificate Insurance policies Make a record of all bank account numbers (including any in your childrens names). Is there a 401K plan at work, IRA, or an account at a credit union, if so, make copies. Make copies of your income tax returns for the past three years. Make copies of all titles or property information including major appliance manuals and guarentees Try and get a couple of your spouses pay stubs, make copies. Are there any stocks, savings bonds, etc., make copies. Contact your doctor and dentist and get copies of all medical records which you can either pick-up in person, or have them mailed to a trusted relative or friend for safe keeping. Childrens school records. Passports for you and the children. Prescriptions for any medications you and the children take (if possible, stock up). Spare keys to the house, garage, car, safety deposit box, etc. If you wear prescription glasses or a hearing aid device, get an extra set made and keep them with your important documents. Title to the car. Contact the credit bureau and request a copy of your credit report, and remember to send a letter.

If you need an example to send please pick up a copy of the book Moving Out Moving On, when a relationship goes wrong. Always place passwords on utilities, bills, so that only you, have access into these accounts so they can't be disconnected or changed.

Try and save money and open a bank account in your name. Just before your ready to leave, go to your bank, and withdraw what you can (this should be done on the day youre preparing to leave, because as money is withdrawn, it will be reflected on the account balance either on that day or the following day. Don't take chances, especially if an emergency arises and your partner must suddenly use their ATM card or withdraw monies and discover the account balance has changed.

Use whatever cash advance you have available to open up an individual interest bearing account.

If possible, take your home computer with you on the day you leave. If you are unable to take the computer, remove all data, addresses, take the disks. If you are unsure how to do this please ask someone who you know and trust to assist you. If you run a computer home-based business, change all your passwords, change your screen name, and change your internet service provider and do not insert personal information into any online directories.

Secure a private post office box. Either have someone you trust do this in their name on your behalf (someone that your partner wouldnt suspect or know) or, go to a private company like Mailboxes, etc., rather than a post office. And whenever possible use suite or apartment numbers instead of using the words post office box.
Make changes for your bills, bank accounts, etc., by using the forms provided, try not to fill out a change of address with your postal service. Get an unpublished/unlisted telephone number. When preparing to move, ask someone you trust to rent a place in their name on your behalf.
When hiring a moving company, use a small company. Or if you need to use a large company, have them move your items to a storage unit that has been secured in another persons name, then contact a small local moving company to move them for you. Line through items as you complete them. If you have received an order of protection from the courts and you are preparing to move, contact your local police department, explain that you have a court order and you are requesting they send an officer to your home while you are moving.

HOW DOES A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ORDER OFFER PROTECTION?

An order of protection is a court order that provides protection for victims of domestic abuse. A person can obtain an order of protection on an emergency basis when there is a likelihood of harm or injury by the abuser. Typically, an emergency order of protection is obtained after a recent incident has occurred and a police report has been made. The incident allows a victim to petition the courts with the assistance of a states attorney or county prosecutor, who works on your behalf without charge, for an emergency order of protection or temporary restraining order (it varies in each state). Then, the judge hears your case, without the presence of the abuser. The judge makes a decision regarding the facts of your case, at which time the judge may grant a temporary emergency order of protection for a maximum of 21 days. Then, the abuser is served by a sheriff or police officer a copy of the order prohibiting contact with the victim for a 21-day period and a court date is set for the abuser to appear before the judge. Both parties return on the scheduled date. You are represented by the state and the abuser either by a private attorney or a public defender. Then the judge, based on the information, decides to set a hearing date. Your order of protection will usually be continued until the outcome of the case. Once you have the order: Continue to report all incidents that occur to the police and document them. If there is further abuse, contact the county prosecutors office or states attorney and update them. If you received medical treatment for any injuries sustained, make sure you get a copy of your medical treatment report and take pictures. Do not initiate any further contact with the person. Always keep a copy of your order with you at all times, make extra copies for your car, employer, etc. For support, shelter, or additional information on what is available to you I suggest you contact: Your local States Attorney or Prosecutors office The Attorney Generals office Your local battered womens shelter and/or counseling center The local Bar Association.

Telephone numbers for the above are listed in your local phone book. And you can go to your local library for information on the laws and resources available in your state. WHO IS PROTECTED UNDER THE ORDER OF PROTECTION? Spouse Former spouse Parent Children Stepchild Dating or engagement relationship Person related by blood or marriage Sharing or formally sharing a common dwelling Persons who have a child in common Sharing a blood relationship through a child WHAT IS A CIVIL ORDER OF PROTECTION? The procedure for a civil order of protection varies from state to state. Any local or state womens organizations, lawyer, or states attorney will be happy to explain the procedures in your area. When you petition for a civil order of protection, usually no criminal charges have been filed against the alleged abuser. Many seek this type of order when they file for divorce. It is still important to obtain pictures for evidence and witnesses for your case. The order is effective for the same length of time as a criminal order of protection and it is issued by a judge. Please go to this link that will direct you with every resource you need to begin: https://feminist.org/911/crisis.html .

During the holidays, use extra caution. Be sure to create a support network of either people you work with, your church, relatives and others whom you trust.

Doe Eyed Angel

After human remains were found last week, likely to be those of 3-year old, Caylee Anthony, the television talking heads shifted gears discussing the possibility of the death penalty for the child’s mother?

Instead of stories about life, joy and hope, the only subject the media and talking crime experts will be serving during the holiday season is every detail possible regarding Caylee’s short life.
What we have not heard about is what to tell those young children who happen across the internet or see a photo or hear about the tragedy of the doe eyed little angel . And that her mother, the person who gave Caylee life, didn't do anything to protect her while in her care, in the blink of an eye.

Under the grandparents roof, George and Cindy, a cop and a medical professional, could the tragedy have been prevented or predicted? No. You can’t blame anyone, but the mother, Casey for not watching an protecting her own child. And you cannot point fingers at anyone other than the only individual responsible, MOM for not protecting her daughter. The mothers fate will be in the hands of a jury, when she goes to trial, not public opinion.

When a “Mommy” or “Daddy” harms their own child, what do we say to our own children in our communities? How do we respond to the 5 or 6 year- old who asks a parent or teacher: “ Will I be hurt or killed by my mommy, if I am bad? How can that girls mom kill her little girl? What did the girl do wrong? These are subjects left for the mental health experts to answer.

With Christmas around the corner, songs with lyrics “you better not shout, you better not pout”, or stories if your not good Santa will be bring you black coal has a threatening tone that I hope parents think twice before using it as a behavior or discipline strategy.

So, if you can’t keep away from those talking heads speculating their brand of finger pointing during the holiday season who will be feeding every drop or sneeze about the tragic death of Caylee Anthony, watch or listen to the coverage when your kids are out of the house or sleeping.

And whatever you do , let your children know how much you love them, minus the threat of a lump of black coal when they are bad.

Protesting A Violent Inmates Parole

Susan Waller

Justice continues to be interrupted each time a victim of a horriffic crime is forced to go every few years and argue to a parole board in order for them to deny the release of a dangerous criminal.

In this case of which I am speaking a judge sentenced 3 men to 2 concurrent life sentences.

Each time they are up for parole, the victim, left for dead by these men must gather herself, travel to another state and speak in front of the group of strangers and re-live her nightmare all over again.

This inmate has been convicted of the crimes of rape in the first degree and attempted murder and has served only 22 years of two concurrent life sentences. Willis , a violent sex offender will not be capable of conforming to minimal standards of conduct within his community, and in fact poses a grave risk to society.

Susan Waller is asking that Mark Caselow Willis not be released from prison, and that he continue to serve the remainder of his original sentence.

A Father's Search For His Daughter

Yes, Christmas is a few weeks away. And since September 3, 2008, one family is praying for the recovery of their daughter's body to be found.

On the morning of the 3rd of September, a 28 year old mother of two children, vanished. And since that day her father and other volunteers have continued to search Kelly Currin-Morris.

Her children haven't seen her since the beginning of September --the same day she was reported missing was the same day their home was set on fire in Stem, North Carolina. Authorities ruled the fire that destroyed the home, arson.

Kelly's car was later found abandoned about a mile away. Her cellular phone, keys and purse were also found.

It should be no surprise that her husband, Scott Morris, has been named a person of interest by police. I know we hear and read about these cases and those possibly responsible sit back like the cowardly lions they are, waiting until law enforcement places them under arrest. Maybe you waited on Scott Morris a few months back at a hardware store and are afraid to come forward. Or you might be a friend or a relative who may have heard remarks that you thought odd, but disregared them as nothing. Then when Kelly turned up missing, you remained quiet. Any information a comment, a discussion you overheard is very important in this case.

Please consider contacting authorities.

Searchers in the area are also asking anyone with an abandoned well or quarry within a 40-mile radius of Stem to contact them at (919) 812-2310, or helpfindkelly@gmail.com, They also have asked hunters to report any articles of clothing they come across or other unusual finds to the Granville County Sheriff's Office.

Caution:Facebook Hit By Virus

Facebook users hit by virus Facebook's 120 million users are being targeted by a virus designed to get hold of sensitive information like credit card details.

'Koobface' spreads by sending a message to people's inboxes, pretending to be from a Facebook friend. It says "you look funny in this new video" or "you look just awesome in this new video". By clicking on the link provided they're then asked to watch a "secret video by Tom". When users try and play the video they're asked to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.

If they do, that's when the virus takes hold and attacks the computer. Guy Bunker works for Symantec, who make Norton AntiVirus, and says there are two ways Koobface gets people's credit card details. "It can either wait for you to buy something online and just remember the details you type in on your keyboard. "Otherwise it can search your computer for any cookies you might have from when you've bought something in the past, and take them from there." Networking threat

The Facebook case is the latest example of hackers using social networking sites to try to cash in. MySpace was targeted by Koobface in August. Security experts say people are far less suspicious about viruses on sites like Facebook because you need to be a member to log in. Facebook won't give any specifics on how many users have been hit by the virus, only saying it's a small percentage. But they have posted some advice on the site about what to do if you come across it. "We're currently helping our users with the recently discovered 'Koobface' worm and phishing sites.

"If your account has recently been used to send spam, please visit one of the online antivirus scanners from the Helpful Links list, and reset your password." http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/te...00/7773340.stm

Condolances to a Cold Blooded Killer and His Badge

Let us all play the violin strings in memory of yet another tin badge coward who murdered his wife in cold blood. On Sunday morning in Forth Worth Texas a “decorated” police officer murdered his wife, Makasha Colonvega, 34, while their young children were present in the home.

Another glorified newspaper write-up about a cold blooded man, who was a police officer.

The children will never recover from this traumatic event. It will be with them for the remainder of their lives. Makasha Colonvega was just 5 months shy of completing her medical residency to become a doctor.

To those who tell you or say they knew this tin badge killer oh "so well". Or that he was under stress or having "problems", do not know the devastating lives these cowardly tin badge officers, lead, behind closed doors.

As the daughter, from a law enforcement family, whose detective father murdered my mother before taking his own life, the continued praises sung by those who worked and knew him well, continue after nearly twenty years.

There is no place for the wife of a law enforcement officer to turn when they require assistance. They are not provided important training on difusing situations which can be life threatening to they and their kids.

If a Police Department is going to teach officers to be effective on the streets, shouldn't those who marry these men be provided similar training?

It would, afterall, save their lives.

In 1986 Susan Waller a college student was kidnapped from her home by 3 strangers. She was repeatedly raped, sodomized and beaten. When the men were finished with her she was shot in the head, dumped into an abandoned, garbage filled quarry. In 2008, after serving only 22 years of a 2 term concurrent life sentences, one of the men is up for parole. Please take a moment, go to the link below and sign the petition.

Women, Murdered Wives is about psychopathic, intensely narcissistic men who not only get rid of their wives through murder but, who, as we have read and watched in the news, literally, make them disappear . While there are too many of these cases to list, the author of Erased, Marilee Strong will offer insights and understanding into why men murder not only their wives, but, murder the mothers' of their own children.

It's not often a complex subject we can all understand. The "Dummie" series refers to simple, easy. It refers to the tackling of very difficult subjects, making them user friendly. Dr. Goulston’s book, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder For Dummies is like our own personal compass an important tool for recovery and dealing with the curve balls within our life's journey.

Theresa Parker 911

When we read about people vanishing from off the face of the earth without a trace, unless it effects us in some way, for example if we live in the town the person vanished from, or attended church service, they were a co-worker or lived our children were schoolmates, we do not pay attention.

For the immediate family, not locating the missing person or solving the crime that ultimately leads to the person responsible arrest and conviction, is at the very least, gut wrenching. Those directly affected, be it a parents, child aunt, cousin, are forever altered by this unthinkable act of human violation.

All too often, someone has an answer, but, they came be too afraid to come forward. Some case's have been recently solved some 36 years later. The person came forward because they were no longer afriad that the person responsible was going to do them harm.
As an example, Theresa Parker, a 911 Dispatch from Atlanta, Georgia, married to the former Sgt. Sam parker has not been seen since March of 2007. In February of 2008, Sam Parker was arrested for her murder. Parker, who was charged with murder on Feb. 4, has also been charged with making false statements, computer invasion of privacy and violation of oath by a public officer. He was incarcerated at the Floyd County jail following his arrest. According to court documents, Parker is being held in the Catoosa County jail, awaiting his trial.

Someone out there knows something. All they have to do is leave information without using their name so authorities can recover her body and bring her home for her family to provide Theresa with a proper burial. That is it. No questions asked. You can even contact me if you would like and I will make the call.

Please, I am asking the person who knows something to give the best Christmas present they can to a family who wants to bring their loved one home.

On Tuesday, Marilee Strong, author of "Erased" will be among the guests on Justice Interrupted, Tuesday, December 9, 2008. She discuss her book and why theee men murder their wives, instead of just giving them a divorce and walking out the door.
There is a sisterhood of sorts among police officer families. When a woman is murdered and married to someone in law enforcement, it hits close to my own home, in my own life.

Another Holiday, Without Lisa

Another season is here and while we are enjoying our precious time with friends and family, counting our blessings, there is one home where Mom won't be fixing Christmas dinner or tucking her children in as she reads the night before christmas to her precious angels. That woman is Lisa Stebic.

A wife, mother, sister, aunt, neighbor, friend who belonged to a family that loves her. I am asking everyone to keep her in your prayers this holiday in hopes that she is found. The family put together a remarkable video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOnmtH27PXQ&feature=related.

Missing since on April 30, 2007, Police have said her husband, Craig Stebic, is a person of interest.

RELATED STORIES• Disappearance gets national exposureSpecial section: Searching for Stebic

"It's very difficult knowing that she's out there somewhere but that we cannot put her to rest as we need to do."http://www.findlisastebic.com. Please if anyone has any information contact the authorities.

Ken Huber Police Chief on Trial For Murder

Ken Huber, 42, is the former Chief of Police charged with the murder of his wife Pam Huber on October 28, 2007 (pictured above the prison stripes is a photo taken at the time of his arrest the other was taken just today as jury selection began in his trial for the murder of his wife, Pam.

This cowdly, tin, badge Chief, charged with first-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter, shot his wife Pam, once in the head with a .40-caliber pistol on Oct. 28, 2007, in their Highmore South Dakota home while her 11-year-old daughter slept next to her.

A criminal complaint obtained in October of 2007, outlined a series of complicated relationships including an affair between Ken Huber and a Hyde County State's Attorney by the name of Jennifer Lowrie that ultimately led to a conflict of interest in the case.

It should come as no surprise Ken was an abuser of physical and emotional abuse.
The night of the murder, according to the complaint, Jennifer Lowrie spoke with her "lover" Ken Huber about 10 p.m., for about 50 minutes on Oct. 28, 2007, on the night of the shooting.
Ken Huber waited until midnight and then the coward called 911 and reported that his wife had been accidentally shot while he had been moving a gun.

How can a trained expert in Glock guns and Chief of Police use the excuse "accidental shooting" as a defense? Basically, Huber is a coward.
Jury selection began today. It is likely Ken Huber will rot in a jail cell, as he should for the murder of Pan Huber.

Will The Holidays Lights Be On Or Off For Drew Peterson?

Chicago Tribune's Eric Zorn wrote a column about Drew Peterson and the new Illinois Hearsay Law.

While I have great respect for Zorn, I disagree on why Peterson may not be charged under the new law. There is another way to bring Peterson to court and make the charges stick. When Kathleen Savio filed for the order of protection she placed her hand on a bible in a courtroom when granted the temporary order of protection. She also stated in this document that "if she died, it would be no accident". Add in the fact that Harry Smith Kathleen's divorce attorney was told of the abuse. And Stacy Peterson also sought advice from the same lawyer. The Crawford vs Washington Statue says the accused has the right to face his or her accuser, but there are exceptions to that law they could be applied in this case, if and when, the Will County State's Attorney is able to charge Peterson.

Another Option is The Will County State's Attorney's Office do not have a body, a confession or a witness in the potential homicide of Stacy Peterson. And no one in the State of Illinois since 1850, has ever been convicted of murder without a body.

There is a similar case on which I base my remarks, Thomas York a Chicago Police Officer, knew enough that investigators and the State's Attorney's Office would not be able to charge him with the murder of his wife or his business partner in April of 1981.Why? As an officer he was trained not to leave evidence. As all good seasoned police are, trained not to leave a clue.To sustain the charge of mail fraud, the government must prove the following propositions:

First, that the defendant knowingly participated in the scheme to defraud as described in the indictment.

Second, that for the purpose of carrying out the scheme or attempting to do so, the defendant caused the United States Mails to be used in the manner charged in the particular count; and

Third, that the defendant did so knowingly and with the intent to defraud. Here is the link to the case in which Thomas York received 40 years for mail fraud:http://bulk.resource.org/courts.gov/c/F2/933/933.F2d.1343.89-3013.htmlThis in my opinion, based on research, Federal Prosecutors can charge Mr. Peterson with mail and insurance fraud.

Kathleen Savio died a few weeks before she was to receive her settlement. Court documents and other related information not provided to the public regarding their divorce and the fact that Drew Peterson was already married and living a few houses away at the time, had motive.

Add in the fact, Drew Peterson was a trained police officer, and a trained locksmith.

Documents pertaining to insurance, correspondence and pleadings regarding the "accidental death " of Kathleen Savio were also sent by United States mail. And that is where the feds come into this case. State's Attorney Glascow must now look beyond a murder charge in this case. The statue for mail fraud and insurance is 5 years which comes due in February of 2009.
